    I loved the whole method of finding glitches in the Owlk’s simulation. It was basically this DLC’s version of in the base game learning the Nomai’s Quantum Rules.
    Bringing the knowledge of the Glitches together to enter the vault had the same excitement as when you used the Nomai’s Quantum knowledge and first stepped into the Quantum Moon’s sixth location!
    And in both instances, you find a new friend.

      @NinjarioPicmin Год назад +8

      Exactly, the DLC is basically a second Quantum Pilgrimage, or the other way around, the entire quest to figure out the Quantum Moon is the game's first "built in" DLC, since none of it is required, just as the Echoes of the Eye DLC. Both lead you to meet one member of the two other species and in the ending they are there with you.

      The dlc didn't feel as good as the base game. I found the dream data world on my own on accident. I put the lantern down cuz it let me put it on the edge of a bridge and I was curious what would happen and then I was really confused when it changed. Didn't really know what was going on. Then I found the reel and didn't think anything of it. Just thought it was easier to get away from the scary parts and map out where I was to go.

    • @tumultuousv
      @tumultuousv Год назад

      And the other hint on the reel showing them dying but still live didn't make me think to do that... at all. Even though it should have. The only hint that mattered to me was falling through the loading screen cuz.. well yeah. But that's not really finding it for yourself. Just telling you if you do this.. that happens

    • @nnelg8139
      @nnelg8139 Год назад +2

      @@tumultuousv that's all the same as the base game: you can either be given some new piece of knowledge from Nomai texts, or you can discover it yourself through experiment or accident-exactly how the Nomai themselves discovered them!

    So here I am again, being the death counter guy. Since dying is so light in echoes, I have personally decided to count simulated deaths: Owls, Water, so forth, as deaths just for giggles. And without further delay, here are Pointcrow's deaths in Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye
    Forgot his suit: 1
    River rapids: 1
    Electrocution: 6
    Sun: 1
    Fall damage in the simulation: 1
    Extinguish by water: 21
    Supernova/Out of time: 16
    Ghost matter: 2
    No oxygen: 3
    Caught by owls: 35
    Alarm clock tower: 5
    Destroyed reality again: 1
    Meditation: 7
    Not wearing his seatbelt: 1
    Fall damage: 1
    Burning to death: 1
    Bonus: stream death
    Equaling a total of 103 deaths to complete this wonderful DLC to an amazing game. Thank you Crow for playing a less popular game, for those of us who stuck around to watch it.
    (I will not be counting deaths after the DLC has been beaten)

    Dude the Prisoner’s cry after learning the fate of the Wilds is just- it gives me chills every time. They managed to fit like 40 emotions into one single yell, but the most prominent emotion that you can feel is liberation. It’s truly the cry of a person who’s just been freed of the burden they’ve carried for millennia. The Prisoner learns that their suffering wasn’t for nothing and that it’s choice, it’s “mistake” cause not one, but two species to be driven toward learning and exploring.
    God what a beautiful game

    The theme of the dlc is about the fear of the future and holding onto the past. The strangers retreated into the past when they realized that the eye would end the universe and create a new one. To reflect its themes you explore an old decrepit but beautiful station, and explore a simulation of the past, where the game makes you feel the same kind of fear they did by turning it into a more horror focused experience. The prisoner, realizing his entire species is dead, but learning that there is still hope, mournes the loss of his species, In remaining in your memory his species gets reincarnated in the next world just as everyone else. The themes help tie in the themes of the base game, of letting go of the past and moving onto a new future no matter how scary it is, and the way the game can portray that without much telling is why it's one of my favorite games. I cannot play or watch this ending without crying each time because it hits me so hard. Thank you for playing this game because reexperiencing the game from someone else's perspective is amazing.

      It's not spoiling anything. As Vastra said, there have been many times when an Inhabitant gets close to you. And sometimes, content creators use pictures they googled for their thumbnails. This game has official & promotional art that can't be seen in the game. Someone will probably see that thumbnail and think "I wonder where they get that photo. Is it in the game or did they get it somewhere else? Who knows?"
      And the title says "The True Ending" so, everyone who reads that will automatically know (if they aren't stupid) that this is meant to be the last part of the playthrough.
      (I'm not angry or anything. It sometimes just takes me paragraphs to explain my thought process.)
      Or maybe you meant that anyone who has never seen & heard anything about the DLC could get spoiled at the reveal that there's another alien species?

    You mentioned that you think your stream is one of the better outer wilds one, and I would have to agree. But not because you got things decently quickly, although that might have helped haha. Its really for moments like 1:35:08 (epiphany) or 2:02:08 (sadness) or the fear you showed during different parts. I got to see your wonder at the world in almost real time, and it really was a treat. I think I probably speak for a lot of Outer Wilds fans that it's those moments that we really hope for. I set down my lantern and tried walking across the bridge in the endless canyon, thinking it would be a stationary light source and then I could explore its area. Didn't work but then I discovered the simulation! The second was that I didn't have meditate, picked up an artifact, didn't know what to do, and decided to skip to the next loop by killing myself in the fire. However, I didn't realize the ramifications of either glitch until I found their relevant slide feels.

It makes sense that some things are time sensitive (or maybe just trying to skirt copyright law by having no record). But me? I don't really have the patience for livestreams, so I appreciate official VOD channels very much. Especially this format, including chat in the video, that's very cool.

    This has been a blast to watch you play. I watched every second of the vods like the peepo frog I am. The twists and turns the game had to offer and the brilliant puzzles along the way. This game was a masterpiece.

    Thank you for this astonishing playthrough! Probably one of the best vods of one of the best games ever existed! Had fun for entire 20+ hours straight.
    Looking forward for your Tunic content, that game a lot like Outer Wilds but something completely different. Here could be born a new genre of games, where your progression is based on knowledge. I like how the noclip's team named it "brainidvania/metroidbrainia", hope to see more games with similar elements and feel of discovery =)

    This was an absolute blast to watch!
    Thank you PointCrow for streaming the game, I guess you now understand why people who've played the game before want to watch other people play.
    But I just want to say that out of the almost 10 playthroughs I've watched, this was one of the best!
    You solve the puzzles (relatively) quick, your reactions to cool stuff are really fun, and your mods + your general audience make the chat a really fun one!

      Some people don't have the time or the money to be invested in the game, some can't because of some issues and others realize too late they've lost the opportunity to discover a great game by themselve, be careful when you say shame, some might take it bad, even if you're joking

      Hey, I didn't play the game myself. I grew up watching games, so to me, it was one of the best expierences ever. With the first person I watched this game, I expierenced every surprise, every discovary. It's just as okay to watch the game as it is to play it. (Unless you really really regret not playing it)
      I will buy it to support the devs and the game company.
      Otherwise, you can wait a couple years, forget the details, the secrets and then play it :)

    I love Outer Wilds but after failing the dark sections again and again I got frustrated and put the game down for months. But after watching your Outer Wilds streams and seeing how much fun you were having with it, I was motivated to finish the dlc before you did so I could watch you play. I finally beat it and had so much fun in the process all because of you! Thanks PointCrow!

Thank you for still taking the time to share the playthrough with the community despite the high chance of people spoiling it for you etc and ruining the game for you. Shoutout to the mods

    I am deeply impressed by how pointcrow never really jumped throughout the playthrough, to the point where in his first trip into the dream world the game gave him a jump prompt because it took him so long to get over the painting ledge. Very weird to see when personally I would never try to hover anywhere without starting with a jump.

    • @EndeadXx
      @EndeadXx 6 месяцев назад

      Probably because he's playing on controller, and jump is on B, so you can't jump and look around at the same time. I forget what button is jetpack, but I'm guessing it's a trigger.
