  • I was so full of emotions by the time I started attempting the Ash Twin Project to the Vessel run that it made everything SO much more difficult but impactful for me. I can't remember the last time I bawled like that during a game. But also... welcome to the SLOWEST trip to the Vessel, ever. I hope you enjoy your stay. :)
There's something beautiful about how we got to be together with everybody at the end of it all, and we even got to talk to Solanum and understand her! I love how it ended with us solving smaller puzzles to bring everybody together and we all listened to music and hung out together one last time. 😭
I feel like all other games are going to pale in comparison now.
Oh well, onto the DLC! ... After I do a week of "wrap up" uploads next week and take a break the week after. Y'all didn't think I forgot about the kazoo music, did you?

I CAN’T BELIEVE THE BASE GAME IS DONE. The first project on this channel. It was so fun and rewarding, and the effort ended up being significantly more ambitious than I had originally intended. Maybe I was inspired by the Nomai?
Coming up next on the channel:
    - Week of Mar 24: The Full Supercut + break
    - Week of Mar 31: Ships log episode Review + Q&A Video
    - Week of Apr 7th: DLC Starts!
ALSO JUST TO BE CLEAR I'M DONE WITH THE DLC. So don't worry, you won't spoil me if you want to talk about it! Just maybe put "DLC Spoilers" at the front so that viewers who haven't played aren't spoiled accidentally. :)

I decided to leave the full “the run” segment from ATP to The Vessel so y’all could understand how TRULY slow I went. My emotions were so intense that my anglerfish fear got dialed up to 11 and it resulted in me being soooooo extremely cautious haha. It was interesting seeing how slow I was in this going back. Definitely would’ve helped to mark my map. HA.
And… I’m SO HAPPY when I jumped in the egg initially nothing happened omg.
If you maybe noticed, I DID do a very long last day of the game. I want to say it was 7-8 hours of recording total with 3-4 15-30 minute breaks. And I had to power nap during two of those breaks to keep going but I *had* to see the end.

Congratulations on your victory. The series was fantastic, especially as a first time project for a channel. Thanks again for posting this. Also if you get a message from a channel called Ellis asking about doing a super cut of your channel, take the offer. That's basically all their channel does and it's helped me find other content creators that I never would have seen on my feed otherwise. Could be a solid way of getting new viewers.

There's something strange about how so many people chase the feeling of playing this game the one and only time you can, a game about a time loop and how we all stand on the shoulders of giants to make a future well never see, and that's okay. All things end. While we exist, we can just explore and learn and be among those we love, and just be.

(1:23:02)That "Conversation Wall" you read in "The Vessel" where the Nomai knew the Universe was ending, that was a "MODERN DAY" Conversation!😉
Even though "The Vessel" has laid dormant in Dark Bramble for nearly 300,000 years, The Vessel can still pick up the "Incoming" messages from other "Modern Day Nomai Vessels" that exist in "YOUR" present time. They also noticed that the Universe was ending as well. Unfortunately The Vessel's capacity to send "outgoing messages" to other Vessels malfunctioned during the crash in Dark Bramble.
Also pretty sure you witnessed(in Post Production) your missing "Little Scout" flying through the New Universe you helped make. When that Marshmallow roasting Insect race discovers "YOUR Little Scout"... they will notice ONE significant detail, that it is "Older Than The Universe Itself". Thanx for sharing this with us.

What a beautiful playthrough... seeing you weep, at the end of the universe, really personified all the things this game was trying to say. How sad, but also, how beautiful it is.
So welcome to the other side of life, post-Outer Wilds, with the rest of us! (For the base game, at least. You have one more journey left to complete; and trust me, it's worth it.) Here are a couple of fun things you missed:
    - The number of Nomai on the stump at the end there was actually completely unrelated to how many of the other travelers you'd found; that was just a funny coincidence. You were supposed to repeatedly look away and back (or turn your light off and back on again) to make them move, like you did to the ruins to collect Riebeck's banjo, and you'd see them climb onto each others' shoulders one by one before manifesting into the shuttle. This represents the knowledge and technology they passed down from generation to generation, and then to you, which eventually allowed you to reach the Eye.
    - The incoming transmissions you find on the Vessel are from *modern* Nomai. We can tell this because they refer to the disappearance of Eskell's vessel as an "ancient legend", and also the game explicitly confirms it elsewhere. The other clans of the Nomai survived until the very end, and were seeing the stars die in real-time just like you and Chert. But time was just about up for them, too.
    - Speaking of Chert, there were some bits of dialogue you missed from all the travelers, since you didn't go back and tell them about all of your discoveries. When you go to play the DLC - and it's strongly recommended to do so from your current expedition, NOT from a fresh save file - you can go around and see what they think about everything, if you're completionist enough to want to.
    - Other completionist things you can do include finding all the other ways to "Game Over" besides dying after taking out the core. I can't quite remember how many you found in this series, but there's a couple of interesting ones in bith the base game and the DLC. Some funny, and some sad, like much of this game in general.
Again, this was an absolutely lovely playthrough, so thank you! If you keep playing my kind of games, I'll keep sticking around to watch. 😉

I've loved watching you chase your curiosity and connect the dots, and even remembering some of the Nomai's names as you see them communicate across the star system! And your reaction to the very end is so real, it's devastating but at the same time comforting, knowing that you were able to bare witness to the birth of a new universe and, billions of years later, new life. There's something about this story that just hits me deeply. The message isn't just "you're insignificant in comparison to the rest of the universe", you're still able to make memories and meet people and live life, even affecting the universe that comes after you! In a way this is about the end of the universe, but I think in another way it's about death and coming to terms with the fact that even though it feels like the universe will die with our own death, it will continue on for others, and that's a good thing that we can just get to play our little part in the grand orchestra and try to harmonize with our fellow travelers along the way. I never comment on videos, but I just had to for this one. This was the best Outer Wilds playthrough I have seen. I have now binge watched the whole series.
I loved the production value you have added to these, with the little campfire sequences at the beginning and joke comments in them, and the end of loop rollback at the end of each video. I must say, you must have said "There's our new pilot. I am sure you are raring to take off" so many times in a row..... It must take finishing the videos so much longer, but I hope you stick with it, as it is very worth it.
As for the playthrough, that supernova at the end while trying to figure out the co-ordinates was insane. I was yelling so hard at the screen.
Great work, and you have earned yourself a subscriber, my friend.
Now to binge the Echoes of the Eye.....

It's not an easy game, it definitely doesn't hold your hand when it comes to... anything, and it is not afraid to make your life suck for several hours by randomly constructing a brick wall to bash your head into, but it is a very rewarding game, even outside it's story. (I *might* be biased tho, 400+ hours of anything is bound to warp your perception of it)

Becca, I've watched many playthroughs of Outer Wilds. It's my favorite game, and I enjoy watching others on their journey. Your adventure is one of my all time favorites now! You ended up connecting so deeply with the Nomai and the Hearthians. I loved your curiosity, your humor, and the way you connected all the dots. You did such a great job editing and put together such a creative intro (and outro!) to your videos. Congratulations on finishing the main game, I'm so proud of you. Way to kick your channel off with a bang!
I can't wait to watch your adventure in the DLC, and whatever else comes in the future for your channel! Thanks for sharing your journey, Becca 🙂

I haven’t actually watched any play throughs of this game all the way through until now, this production quality is amazing for the first let’s play on your channel!! I loved the way you handled the beginning and end of each video, the amount of detail you put into each option and little references from past episodes! You’re my new favorite youtuber (and i watch way too much youtube) and i can’t wait to see your echoes of the eye play through too, which imo the music is even better. And thank you for putting so much effort into these videos, your attention to detail has not gone unnoticed! ❤️❤️

I'm so enormously impressed with this series and the channel! Very honoured to be among the first to subscribe and looking forward to seeing you play through the DLC. Then onto whatever other games you want to explore. If you like games that scratch that existential itch but have a narrative style, I feel like What Remains of Edith Finch would be a worthy addition to the channel. Heavy subject matter notwithstanding!
I'm pretty sure I'd watch you eat an apple and enjoy it though so I'll be here regardless of comes next :D

Such a great playthrough of the game and great editing too! It never gets old watching people play it. I love your comments about the journey and the nature of the eye and universe. To quote my favorite line in the game: "As a child, I considered such unknowns sinister. Now, though, I understand they bear no ill will. The universe is, and we are."
Looking forward to the followup and the DLC!

Even though i already completed the game, i still teared up multiple times watching this (every time you did, basically).
It is such a strong and emotional game and you'd never expect it when just starting out, innocent and naive the first time you take off from timber heath.

And the production value is indeed amazing. Both all the intros/outros and the smooth cuts, but also just the way you invite the viewer on this journey together, relaxed and personal.
I really hope you can keep being you for any future projects - its wonderful and unbelievable that this is a first time.

I'm always so happy when people take the time to just listen to the music, at the end. Letting Solanum start last, too, feels so appropriate. We got used to the instruments of our friends, these grounded and lighthearted instruments. It feels simple, and complete. But then the piano comes in, which we haven't heard before - and it's different, and alien, but it fits so /well/. Ahhh. :')

Thank you so much for sharing. I think you did an excellent job with the presentation of your playthrough. I've watched over a dozen Outer Wilds playthroughs at this point and while the ending is often an emotional moment, I've never wanted to just give the player a hug more than here.
Outer Wilds is a bold and auspicious start for a RUclips channel and sets a pretty high bar in terms of "games that earn real feelings."
I can't wait to see your followup videos and especially your playthrough of Echoes!
I often recommend Return of the Obra Dinn and Tunic for players who enjoy unraveling a mystery, but if you haven't played them, you might appreciate Gone Home, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Unfinished Swan, Spiritfarer, Maquette, Journey, Night in the Woods, or The Forgotten City. (I've got to cut myself off there, I'm realizing I have an entire library filled with these sorts of games.)

"Cozy and existential" is probably my favourite genre of media, and if you're looking for more game recs I'd highly recommend the Talos Principle series (if you enjoy Portal-like puzzle games). Great physics puzzles underpinned with a deeply philosophical story that explores the meaning of humanity. Seems like it would be a great fit for this channel.
