Didn’t know about this guitar. The design with the white color looks pretty good. And the possibilities of it makes it a real good practice guitar. Thanks for reviewing!
Wow... an actual "guitar" teacher. Just another one of many guitars that you've helped to pique my interest... by getting me to think about. Darrell... you never seem not to amaze. Thanks!
I have 5 guitars, a mandolin and a keyboard my cheap Kieth uban Yamaha is my favorite, Its tone, size weight and string height make me pick it up ,take it with me, and a teen girl absolutely wants a guitar because I played it in her presence. I will gift her one for Christmas. Passing on the love and peace is the greatest gift I can imagine.
Go get OSTEO BI-FLEX Triple Strength Advanced. label says take 2 daily, IGNORE THAT. Take THREE daily. (I take all three at the same time ) it's PROVEN to relieve arthritis suffering in 3 days!!!! Don't get the types with : 5 Loxin or any EXTRA added stuff. Just get the Triple strength Advanced. WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED THE BOTTLE, You don't need to take it again as It has a 5 year residual effect!!!
That is about the same as capo on 1 re-tuned to standard pitch. Many Gibson guitars have narrow nuts, so there are other ways to get a similar advantage for your needs. Find an old narrow-nut Gibson, capo at 1st fret, and tune to standard pitch. Of course it won't do all the tricks this one does....
Not my thing really, but that interface and all the supporting tech is SUPER cool. Would have loved to have access to something like this when I was starting out. I think $399 is priced where the "budget" in the video title isnt necessary - for what you get that is definitely budget friendly
Never heard of this guitar before but saw one today in a local shop and tried it. Fell in love with the sound straight away and now from your video I'm seeing the computer and loving it even more! Maybe one day I'll be an owner 😁
Thanks for consistently reviewing these types of guitars that take advantage of modern technology. These guitars sound better with each new model. Beautiful interactive display.
I had a lava 3 and got rid of it cuz the software/screen was a buggy confusing mess. The 2.0 version looks much cleaner and straight forward. The lavas 3 which is advertised as carbon fiber…it’s carbon fiber composite, not just carbon fiber and you realize the difference when you pick it up cuz it’s not light. There’s a reason most cases are black cuz the hide dirt…among other things. Thinking the case will be a dirt magnet
In my opinion Lava Me Play is perfect for the beginners. Once one becomes familiar with guitar playing after 1-2 years then it's worth to invest on the Electric Acoustic Guitar with Cutaway design made by good brands like Yamaha, Martin, Taylor etc.
I disagree. I think this guitar is perfect for anyone regardless of your level. I have been playing guitar for 46 years and have the 38 inch LavaMe 3 guitar. I am going to buy the new Spruce 41 inch Lava Me 4 guitar. Reason why I am telling you this is because having a guitar that has built in drums, looping, guitar exercises etc is priceless for improving on guitar no matter what playing level you are on. And yes, I also have a Taylor but they like apples & oranges. I love both guitars equally.
Best explanation and review of this guitar been watching alot of them and hands down yours is the best. It pissed me off that you left the echo black hole effect on the entire time because i wanted to hear the tone of the guitar just playing without effects but other than that this was a great informative review thank you so much.
The look and sounds of Lava guitars are not really exiting! But the eletronicle features are not bad! Different tunings in eletronical way would be so beautiful! The price is.......nothing to say! But this is no beginner guitar!
Complete noobie here. Just ordered one at a pretty good price. Definitely will be taking advantage of the learning tools. This is a unit that I can take camping easily. I think the slimmer design will be a big difference maker in my journey. Appreciate the review!
I just bought and receive mine today. Like the title suggest... I am on a budget, so I went with the LAVA Me 2 (wich is reaaal budget !!!!) I don't know if I made the right choice yet But I really like the fact of playing a LAVA without handling a computer ! The one you review is like 1 300$ .. and mine is 300 $ If I love the LAVA experience, I might consider upgrading to LAVA 4 with the screen My first observation : I will change de Nut for a better wide span and better action
Great review! My only question is...Why was this not around in 2001 when I had just arrived in London...ready to learn guitar and join a revolutionary punk rock band . . . 30 years too late!
Great video as always! Could you do a video that would compare this guitar with a typical guitar and the Spark Amp for beginners to learn? I'm thinking that would be really interesting. Thanks.
I catch most of your videos. Like the expert knowledge, enthusiasm for the subject and positivity. For this subject it's great you have those qualities. I've learned a lot about the guitars themselves and what's available mich due to your videos. Due to staged lies about my life - often - I'm not gay and Ive never communicated with you. Just letting you know as I appreciate your channel and the knowledge you convey. The guitar is the most versatile, cool instrument on Earth.
This is pretty freakin cool. Wish I'd known about this before I spent $1,400 on my Taylor. Not that I don't love my Taylor, but this thing is pretty freakin awesome.
This is a dishonest statement. I feel anyone buying a Taylor/Martin/Gibson of any kevel certain isn't persuaded by this entry level piece of tech plastic... I feel you're doing some odd name drop or proud you finally got a real guutar, some awkward muck like along those lines 😮 🤘
Well I think it's a great idea to get people onboard. I can see the appeal, it's as if Apple made a guitar, many people can love that. They should be aware of what they can get as an acoustic/classical guitar for that price though. It's a bit of a plastic vs wood competition, I don't like that plastic feel and laminated sound, and who knows how long those ( cool ) electronics will last, there's something of an Instagram product about it. But it's practical too.
Great video on a cool guitar. Would you say it's a parlor size? I can't find any info on the size. I'm looking for a parlor guitar for couch and travel.
Hey D.- Does this guitar come with the charger or is the charger an accessory?? If it's the latter, can it charge in some other way... Like with a cable and what kind?
I’m on the fence, neither here or there, kinda reminds me of fender with the mustang amps and pre sets and all you could download on them. I’ve got one of the first ones they put out and only use it for clean use only. It had its day and not supported if you will.
Do you need to download the app and link it to your phone for the effects and stuff to work? Or do they work freely on their own once connected to wifi
Can you try to review the jcraft vintage tele? Im planning to buy the guitar but there are not enough reviews to tell and confirm if its a good guitar. Im hoping if one of the best guitar ytubers will review it if its aight
Question do you think the acoustic sound of the lava me play it's better or worse than the blue lava original I got the blue lava original freeboost and I really like it nor I'm a beginner so with that being said do you think it's worth switching to the lava play
Darrel, i bought a regular blue lava the apps wouldnt make any sound. So i E- mailed lava music. They Replied that i shoud Download the 2.0 version I Hate it! It took Away Animations! I got it to learn to play Gutiar I didnt want more complication!

Sorry, Darrell, but at nearly £500, that's not an entry level guitar. I hate the white, don't like the shape, but I quite like the sound off your room mic. So I suppose that's the speaker. The learning opportunities are also a bonus.
I have one of these at thomann. The software is cool. But the feel and sound of the guitar is very cheap, plastic sound. Put the electronics in traditional build guitar, Is my advise.
It is a really nice guitar but unfortunately, your budget is much higher than my budget. Starting at $999 puts this in the area of my EVH 5150 model range for me which I consider expensive.
I’m good..thanks but I see enough screens during my day the last thing I want is one on my guitars! I play music for decades to get away not this thing.
It is heavy and it sucks . Even I do not want to waste of my time watching these reviews and I am sorry for him to create such a video . surely he has received either a free guitar or money. he should consider his credibility in youtube @@jeffbosch1697

The Lava Me looks like the champion of student guitars. Extremely versatile, and for the price, kinda tough to beat. Nice review.
It's awesome how you say it's great for beginners and then jump into really advanced licks. Thanks.
As a first guitar, this could be a great starting point for a new, especially young musician with small hands. For $400, not bad at all.
Yeah, Lava is the new level of guitars. Smart and useful in many musical aspects.
The 23.5" scale of the LAVA ME PLAY is interesting: I have small hands with some minor neuropathy and arthritis. I might get one.

@@P_Ezi Being a newbie, I never thought of that! I could just capo my PRS Santana (24.5" scale) and re-tune! Thanks a bunch!
Try a small nylon string geetar

I’m so close to buying one of these..Timely review 💯✌️
Bro, one question. Do you know if this guitar includes any distortion effects?
.... much more fun than a Lava Lamp ... great electronic adons
Hopefully their next software update will include a spelling correction of "ambinent" to "ambient" (check @ 7:55). 😅
It's fixed! Darrel is using a beta version of the software, but it is our fault. Thanks for pointing that out.

Nice feature, keeping us in the know. Thanks D!
Wowza. How creative.. the days of the one man band have totally evolved in a spectacular fashion. As we said in the 60s, soooo groovy.
No doubt. It's really choice, Dig?

Very nice. All in one package with those built in programs now on the. guitar - super. No excuse for not practicing now. Maybe?
LAVA has just introduced a spruce
body ME guitar @ 600
Great review Darrell
What
Loved the Bossa Nova jam near the beginning. I wonder if they'll ever come out with an electric model? It'd be a lot cooler if they did.
This is the “electric model”
You can put this through an amp and make it sound like whatever you want.
Sounds uhhhhhhh, but definitely cool software--It would great fun for most--nice job on the intro.

I'm sure it's fun and packed with features but I think for 1100 cad I would buy a yamaha F3 red label
Does it do the effects from a speaker or by vibrating the guitar body?
Crazy.
Interesting guitar. Not a fan of the headstock but the body is cool.
