Hey guys, so this confused me for a long while as well so let me explain to you what he doesn't in the video. Basically, yes what you all are saying is 100% true....he is using the same mechanism to effect a change on both caster and camber. When he turns that eccentric, it basically moves the king pin bolt in an elliptical motion hence changing both caster and camber at the same time. So say you set your camber on the sniper to where you want it, if you want to retain this camber then you have to live with what ever the caster is at that point......if you want to increase/ decrease your caster and have that even on both sides, then the inverse is true....you have to live with what ever camber the sniper reads at that point. Now for what you've all been wanting to know and what he does not say in the video.......if you want a certain camber but then be able to independently change the caster more or less yet retaining the same camber reading, then you NEED another one of those eccentric pills below the king pin as well......so then you have 2 eccentrics....one on top and one below. With these two now you can turn both independently and get any combination of min/max camber and/or caster you want. For that comp kart, I am not sure if they sell the pill which can then be added below the king pin .....right now that kart that is in the video has a neutral pill below the king pin meaning it is completely spherical in shape and will do nothing if you turn it. On my Birel chassis, I bought another pill and fitted it below my kingpin so now I use one for camber and one for caster and can get any combination I want. Hope this clears it up for you all!
Man,really appreciate your explanation, clear all my head. With 2 washers, yes we can rotate them simultaneously to make diff settings and change the caster and camber independently, but will there be a little bit change of the wheel base and track width? Will those change the dynamic of the car? Idealy, what am I think abt is,can we just use 2 washers together on only one side of the king'pin axle?
Aécio Telles to know a figure in degrees the sniper can't do it, the V2 edition at least. basically you set it by the position on the kingpin bolt....setting it such that the bolt leans to the back of the kart fully is maximum caster, the inverse is minimum
I'm probably being stupid but how is the camber adjustment your making any different to the caster adjustment you're making? It looks like it's the exact same process so how can you set camber with the off center washer by rotating it if setting the caster is exactly the same method?
Yea, im with this guy... So you rotate the washer to change the caster AND the camber? So you get the caster you want, but then your camber is messed up, or the opposite...
Castor and camber use the same adjuster this is pretty standard on karts. The difference, which he does not do a good job of explaining IMO, is that for camber you move the top hole inboard or outboard, for castor you move the top hole forward or rearward. Due to the limitations of this type of adjuster you can only get partial adjustment if you need to adjust both castor and camber.
I understand the confusion, I’ve always adjusted Camber the way it’s explained in the video, however when it comes to Caster, you change the eccentrics... For example, on a Birel Chassis you have to types of eccentrics, 0.5 and 1.5, so with those you can add or take Castes away as you feel like, this video imo doesn’t explain that, if you rotate the eccentrics, without replacing them, you can only adjust Camber, not Caster.. All the chassis I’ve had, came with different eccentrics so you can adjust the Caster, I don’t really know how is he supposed to change Caster without replacing the eccentrics.
Hey thank you for that general basic description it was very helpful for us green behind the ears, newbys,I have a tag senior birel and have been very interested in learning the different ways I can make it turn best for my local track and have been thinking taking some negative camber out,not a lot at once to learn, and drive the difference,I think with flatter tire patch, closer to zero it will turn cleaner, less start turn scrubbing, and make my wheel movement more precise, negative camber at this time is heavy, guess it looks like -10 ,may be -12,I'm close to a kart race shop so I will see,but thanks for the tips on rain adjustments,my cart has a Physco power band,I could imagine it in wet conditions,so every little bit of info helps...thanks for the insight...much appreciated.
Not by a lot, but by moving kingpin back a little, you change the position of the hub as well. It's not visible difference, but I don't know how it affects driving in a cup kart.
Hello, I would like to be able to ask you what effect the positive camber \ _ / has on curves. That is, more open at the top. I suppose the front end grips more. It is right? Thank you so much! greetings from Argentina!
i have a problem on my swiss hutless chassis my front end is so wabely idk how to limit this could someone help me out/ srx for my english its bot my native language
I'm also agreeing with these two comments. those adjustment are the same. I want to adjust caster as my steering is difficult but if I do this my camber will be messed up. going on your video please can you explain.
Wow i run a DR j90 shifter kart with a sniper adjustable front end ten times easier your not stuck in a limited degree hole and looks much durable and beefy

马世伟 not sure if I understand what you're saying but no I've never seen two used on the same side
yeh you are right. but how to know exactly how mych caster are u running? knipers can do it?
Aécio Telles to know a figure in degrees the sniper can't do it, the V2 edition at least. basically you set it by the position on the kingpin bolt....setting it such that the bolt leans to the back of the kart fully is maximum caster, the inverse is minimum
thanks christopher - l just very weel understood and will apply at my go kart
What are the typical angles on gokart? What's the optimal alignment to strat with?

How important is it to adjust toe and camber with the driver in the kart or weight?

How does adding caster, moving the pin back which moves the front wheels forward shorten the wheelbase?
Not by a lot, but by moving kingpin back a little, you change the position of the hub as well. It's not visible difference, but I don't know how it affects driving in a cup kart.
If i adjust with tape measure in centimeters what are the basic values for camber caster and toe ? KZ2 praga chasis ?
You might as well buy lasers, they are super easy to use imao
@@p.c.h.6721 but expensive
@@martindimitrov1955
You maybe able to find them second hand, I bought mine for 100
Excellent presentation!
great video, thanks. Helped a lot!

actually reducing front camber in lower classes to decrease drag is really kinda smart.. :)
Reducing? As in negative?
throw away the eccentrics and buy a sniper washer kit to make it simple for both castor and camber
I'm also agreeing with these two comments. those adjustment are the same.
I want to adjust caster as my steering is difficult but if I do this my camber will be messed up. going on your video
please can you explain.
in this case caster and camber is the same because you do both adjustement in the same way

how may i put my Honda engine lol
Horizontally and with a propeller with sharp blades
Dude, be specific with your titles next time please!!, I’m looking for regular auto camber and caster!!
