- This is the music that plays in the lobby when there aren't any special/seasonal events occurring in Phantasy Star Online 2. It has been extended to play for 30 minutes.

I had been playing ever since the JP server open beta days back in 2012, then came back fully around 2016 since I was finally out of high school and then up until Summer 2020. Hearing this makes me feel so nostalgic when I look back on all the good times I had on PSO2 with my friends/community. It was a grind, but a hell of a fun one that I would do anything to go back and relive. It may not seem too long ago, but life truly was just simpler back then during PSO2’s peak days.
I hope one day we’ll get a private server up and going. NGS just can’t recapture what base PSO2 did and it’s a shame how quickly they started pumping out the content when PSO2 finally got a global release just so that it could catch up with the JP servers. God, I miss this damn game so much 🥲
This lobby theme is so relaxing and for some reason nostalgic (because it was released in 2012).
I only play this game since around 2020, but this music really make me feel so nostalgic and sad
I remember when I first played PSO2 and the music made so damn happy cuz of how good it was
I sware the PSO series is one of the most revolutionary in terms of impact to the game industry. For example being one of the first if not the first online console game to a world wide audience

@@henrytalley3739 as soon as they announced NGS , I quickly realised the deal that Sega and MS had pulled , and that base game was never intended to stick around. So in reality I might've only had 4-5 months of real unhindered fun before they started dropping yearly updates every 2 weeks and ruined the game. But my god were those couple of months really really special , I had been excited about this game since the initial E3 announcement. Of course I didn't realise how big a deal it was then.

I miss the old PSO2 style of music, compared to the style NGS is going for
I miss everything from old pso2. Especially during episodes 1-3. That seemed like the peak aesthetic in my opinion. Kinda surreal. Something I believe NGS cannot recapture.
@@crambob1370 That was during a time when they had vision imo. The departure from the creeping-cosmic-horror themes and the hero's journey that the protagonist undergoes is so different from what came after. The Oracle episodes had a sense that you were *a* member of a spacefaring mega-organization, working alongside people who also had their own unique struggles. You had a central role, but it is not discovered until the end of EP3 which is fittingly the climax of the story, and you always had reliable allies in the class admins, the council of six, and various named NPCs you've met along the way. It was super immersive, and really wanted to own the sci-fi paramilitary setting.
There's a brief return to its roots in EP6, but that was just to tie up loose ends. NGS loses all of that mystique that was present in Oracle, and it's a real shame.

well, base isnt truly dead. Theres a small amount but its certainly more than psobb has, and thats not dead either. Just the other day I ran a few triggers with some randoms

But does it have to be filled though? The whole point of the song is to take a loadoff and relax. However everyone has their own opinions so I respect your view on it
