If you've never tried Southern Fried Cabbage & Sausage, get ready for a delightful experience with this easy and tasty recipe. Check out the ingredients needed for this straightforward dish:
1 Head of Cabbage
1 Pound of thick-cut bacon
1 Pound of your preferred sausage
1 Medium to Large Onion
1 Green, Red, and Yellow Bell Pepper
1 Medium to Large Carrot
2 tablespoons of Butter
2 tablespoons of White Vinegar
1 tablespoon of Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
1.5 tablespoons of Your Favorite Seasoning Blend for Veggies
*DIRECTIONS**:
Cut the bacon into small pieces and reserve the crispy bits.
Drain excess oil, leaving 2 tablespoons in the pan.
Add sausage and carrots to the same pan, cook until done, then remove them.
Add cabbage to the pan, seasoning with each layer.
Once the cabbage cooks down, reintroduce the cooked meats and carrots with the remaining ingredients.
Add butter last, mix well, plate, and serve.
