Travolta looks typically "Look at meeeee.... look at meeeeeeeeeee Johntruvultaohmygah!" whereas Olivia jumps in looking so elegant and understated. And she has a gorgeous dress and purdy shoes. Gutted they made Sandy change into a sticky looking tramp at the end.
Completely. But I think ONJ is equally magic too and also, watch it again, she seems to be talking to Travolta - I have for many years thought that, while it remains one of my highlight scenes of the film, ONJ is right into it and Travolta is too into himself and his own dancing routine - taking nothing away from him of course. This scene gives me chills. Just awesome dancing and music! Can't stop watching it. RIP Olivia Newton-Jon and Annette Charles!
Vince Fontaine doing that flip and catching the mic at the end is friggin awesome!!!
Kenickie was out of control 😂
4:38 Holy shit! That's the best dance move in the whole film! AND he's wearing a suit... AND he catches the mic!
The band reacting to kenecky after he pulled up that girl’s dress : “how low can u go ? “
The band is underrated in this whole scene.
And The moment when Sandy and Danny enter the the dancefloor like cowboys in the far west. I love that scene ♥️
I am still gripped with sadness at the passing Of Olivia Newton John. She brought such joy to everyone.
@LifeWithOlga this is Sha Nas Na's Free Bird
killer smile
can we talk about that front flip and how he caught the mic at the very end nothing can top that
Yes that's one of my favorite parts. I have always noticed this ever since the first time I saw this movie back in like 1999 I was 10 years old. Most people I tell never remember the flip. I even read this entire article about how "We all missed this part in the movie" lol the person barely noticed after the "500,000th time watching it" hahahahaha.
Maybe he's an IMF Agent lol, kinda looks like one
I think I JUST noticed that watching the other day! Haha! That was great!
Thanks for pointing that out I never noticed
It was actually a fricking BACKFLIP OMYY
The face Home boy makes at 3:43 always cracks me up Hahahaha
Me watching this scene 😆
@@user-oi6gr8xw9h 🤣🤣 it is a catchy tune and dance.
Thank you so much Olivia! ! Rest in peace your memory among us will never be forgotten.
That look at 3:25 ONJ gives gets me every time . Her acting was so under appreciated in this movie. Noone in Hollywood or anywhere else could have come anywhere near her perfection of playing SANDY ! Imagine playing a teenager on the cuspof being 30 & ( unlike Travolta ) having zero professional acting for the big screen experience . How daunting -but she had Travolta championing for her . Pure Cinematic unrivalled Magic & Chemistry these 2 had and a real life relationship/friendhship built to endure that developed. Wow their energy togther was undeniable & destined . Also lets give ONJ the credit she finally desrves . Thats real acting talent people . Oh Olivia I miss you so much . There will never be another one of you EVER. Rest in Peace Angel
The announcer did a front flip then caught the mic .....niiiicceee
Everybody in that school is a professional dancer
William Stryker well years ago, people were not stuck on their cellphones. Going out, seeing friends, there were places where you could dance.
Marie-lou Ferland how things have changed. And not for the better
It was a requirement to get in lol 😂
@@W.Stryker Yeah I miss all that sexism, racism, and homophobia that was so prevelant back then lets go back!!
Sinead bruuhhh 😂👏
This scene gives me goosebumps, the energy and the dancing is off the charts!
Yes, so true!
Rest in Peace, Sandy.
Travolta seems always faintly surprised by how good he's dancing
(In Owen Wilson voice)”wow I’m dancing so good, wow”
And that's a good thing. Keeps him humble. Kinda like how Alabama Football needs to lose ever so often, or otherwise they get fat hearted and arrogant.
@@colabama lol
This scene never fails to make me laugh and smile omggg😭❤️
Which part makes you laugh??
@@DaBoyz361TLS all of it fool
Especially when edd byrnes flips back into the screen when the song ends 🤣
I love how the principal got into it at the end 😂😍
0:18 That guy in the back right wearing brown doing his best is me. I'm that man. I feel you.
Imagine if they had to do that in prom nowadays...
Rose Black be pretty funny
It be awesome fun to be honest.
The part kenickie and that "Zucko" Fighting in prom😆😂
Replace hand jives with fortnite dances
I'd actually go lol
2:36 touches my heart each time! The moment the music progression the intensity!!!! 🙌🏽
Wonderful....the finest scene in the entire movie
ME TOO. They were golden.
So innocent
Sandy and Danny win this dance ! Beautiful angel RIP sandy ! Olivia we miss u and we never forget u
I’m in love with kenickie😍
3:42 creepiest extra of all time.
*iconic
I still want Cha Cha's dress. Only for dancing around my house in.
Is it better than everyone else's but Sandy's for you? This makes me wonder.
@@ambermedellin6832 Sandy's id wear out in public, it's ridiculously cute! But for dancing around my house on my own, Cha Cha's would be fun to play with
Cha Cha's is nice and Sandy's is really pretty too but personally, I'll take Rizzo's dress over them all. I fell in love with that one the moment I saw it.
*hey.*
@@misslisa1120 I actually bought a Russo replica dress from a store called unique vintage. They did a Grease collab and I had to have Rizzos dress because it’s literally my dream dress 🐞🐞
Rest in peace Olivia. We love you xxx
Hella energy!!☆☆☆Loved this incredible scene & song. RIP Jeff Conaway (Kenicki)😢
And now ONJ 😢
2:30 gets me everytime 😂😂
I find it hilarious how Sonny walks by at 0:50 ike: Darn you Vince

Kenickie?
Ellie Collier - Quizes, Fun, Vlogs, and more! oyl
Dauntless Guardian very. vibrant
BMW that
"Hey break it up, break it up! What is that?" I couldn't stop laughing
2:35 the most iconic scene of the entire movie ....
2:12 look real close in the background who do you see fixing his tie?
@@Bubba6O2 Not sure who you mean? Is it Kenickie ?
@@Calsonic8899yes
3:43 been laughing at that dude for like 25 years bro haha
I’ve been laughing at his expression since I was a little girl 😂😂😂😂
Keneckie is my favourite character!
Mines danny and Sandy
Sarah Asif yep and he is hot !!!
Sarah Asif A hickie from Keneckie's like a hallmark card
Rizzo.
Sandy, Marty and frenchy are my faves, I just love there accents😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Olivia Newton John and John Travolta had the amazing kind of chemistry that you saw in Bogey and Bacall, Spencer and Hepburn. They looked like they were having a blast when this movie was made, and it's a joy to watch.
1 word to that Balser......Aman!
Rip Olivia 💔 🙏 🕊
This has to be one of the most beautifully CHAOTIC scene in film! The more you watch, the more you capture the craziness… bit like what you witness when you have to chaperone a prom 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree. I have watched it at least a dozen times in the past few days, and I see new “greatness” every time.
Beautifully chaotic! That term works tremendously for this scene!!
Notice at 02:16
When Patty Simcox dances to the camera, Sonny runs behind her to lift up her dress, but the next scene Kenickie beats him to it and lifts it up instead.
He just, DISAPPEARED
@@theshadowdanger0152 Or Sonny's a shape-shifter.
Never noticed till now
My favorite part was 2:58 when everyone suddenly knows all the moves & they all dance in unison....
This was an actual dance back in the 50s so they would have known it.
The way the host backflipped into the scene at the end and someone threw him the mic 🎤😭😭😭
Rest in peace Olivia newton john!!!! She was such a huge part of my life wow such a beautiful person
one of the best, funniest and coolest dance scenes ever!! :) Kenickie is precious!! He was my favourite character in that movie :))
Mine too
0:18 I would be like the dude in the background who can't even do the hand jive. I wouldn't last a second in this dance XD
Spinelli Spaghetti same
Would not be their to screw it up in the first place
Spinelli Spaghetti 🍝 Me too.... Too many moves for me. Flailing your hands about all over the place. I just don't have the coordination anyway. And why did Danny chase after that moose Cha-cha when he's got an absolute FOX 🐺 like Sandy already?? Wouldn't touch Cha-cha with a barge pole!!!!! Not for ANY prize!
his rep got in the way
OMG! I never noticed that. He looks like a flopping fish. lol
Holy crap.... I haven't seen this in years, and I can say this scene is a masterpiece cause I haven't seen anything like it in the last years. Travolta is on point with all the moves.
RIP beautiful Olivia
I remember watching this and just thinking that Cha Cha is too damn old to be fucking around with high school kids
Elizabeth Withers
Elizabeth Withers LOL me too! idk if this is offensive, but she looks to me like she has a couple STDs. So does Kenickie.
Nia McCoy And the rest of them didn't look old to you?
Sandy Silvie Lol! They all looked 35+.
Sandy Silvie Nothing as old as Cha Cha
Kenicky got some serious moves
Rip Sandy we missed you fly high
The original "dirty dancing?" This rocks even after all these years!
