Thanks so much have just bought one of these and didn't have a clue how to listen to shortwave.. I was just turning knows and hoping for the best.. Will subscribe and see what else you've done😊.. Thanks again
I have this same radio. When I listen it is best to stay as far away from noise as possible. My best DX is outside away from the house, or I can just take a walk through the woods behind our house. A wire, the longer the better, is always a great idea. I also have a PL 330, which is also a great deal for what it is. The ETM is an hourly save on the PL 330. The 5:42 woman’s voice on WWV is from Hawaii, WWVH. Most of the time with my shortwave radio, it’s simply best to be outside.
Yeah I agree with that for sure, I usually listen outside, but during a blizzard it was a treat to be inside. Since I set up my 100 foot longwire antenna into our 2.5 acre empty field on a 40 feet high pole I get about the same inside and out. Basically it comes from a second story passthrough window I set up and stays high all the way down our hill to the pole. We are pretty lucky to live in the country on top of a mountain, we don't get very much electrical interference 😁
