    Very Helpful and straightforward! I would add that for Windows 10 users in order to connect the ox to your Wi-Fi you have to first go into the app itself while the Ox Wi-Fi is connected to your computer and go to settings and then select your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password . This is a little different than what is shown in the video at 6:11 for Mac users. Still informative and helpful. Thanks for making this video!

    Hi, I'm interested in the ox box, all the demos are very convincing and everything looks great. I have a question if after the installation everything works well or if there are problems that the computer needs to be fixed again for it to work. This is the only thing that worries me because my big problem is that after they come to install the ox for me, problems will start that I have to deal with. Because I'm really not good at working with a computer, I'm pretty analog. Thank you

    • @Crypticmaskguitar

      So I’m not fully following your question, but im going to try and answer it.
      1. The ox is very much an analog style device if you are using it just as the attenuator,
      Plug it in properly as shown in the video and its an awesome attenuator.
      2. Is your intention to use it as a cab modeller, you don’t need a computer, you can use several different devices to control the digital side of things.

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 года назад

      Yes, i am plugged into the amplifier, the ox is between the amp and the speaker (where you usually would just have a speaker cable connecting the head to the cab). You can then connect to the Apollo by either SPIDF, ADAT or LINE OUT. If you are using the hi Z input the ox and amp does not need to be turned on as you most likely are recording only Hi-z or you are using unison amplifiers on your apollo.

    doesn't the audio trs to trs left right >>> ox out -- carry the profile (effects etc ) too? I think so. The ipad just controls the box.... then either spdif or analogue stereo out. The cab can be engaged to also mic a real cab while you are playing a stereo image out IE.... real miced cab + aux LR out + real cab (mic) out....

    I'm hearing a mechanical hum when plugged into my Apollo Twin. I'm hooked up via instrument cable into the guitar input on the Apollo. So first off looking at the hum issue. so do a full entire shut down of everything, this usually fixes the audible hum, Ive had the hum happen twice in the years that i have owned it and this completely fixed that issue both times, with regards to spidf two tracks is the way to go but if you want just one you can change that in console to 1 track, hope this helps - Kevin

    Great run through, I have a question if I may. I have a combo amp that only has an EXT.speaker jack. The cable from the speaker is wired straight into the amp 'head' . No internal spkr jack
    Is that an issue and will I need to get another jack fitted if I buy the Ox? Thanks in advance

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  5 лет назад +1

      Ya unfortunately you need that separation in order to attenuate the amplifier or its gonna be crazy loud. You will need to convert your combo into a head or replace it with a head in order to use it with the ox, also it needs to be a tube head as solid state will damage the unit. The speaker out will allow you to hook it up to attenuate another speaker that you would hook into the ox but not the initial combo amp as that would stay at initial volume until you disconnect the speaker, this needs to be done properly or you will damage your amp as the load needs to be carried properly to the ox, i suggest a professional to do this for you. Hey, Thanks for the video, I search for information about this product which I just can't understand yet, Can I connect the OX only AMP like Mesa Boogie 25 to record through a DI without a speaker connected at the back? Is there a way to bypass the Speaker section if I just wanna use the AMP Head? I can't figure out the logic of connecting speaker if I just wanna use the head and their program emulating different cabinets ?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  5 лет назад +1

      all the speaker option is for is that you can hear it through your own speaker plus you can use the ox as an intinuator, this way you can crank your amp to get that pushed sound with the tubes glowing and keep the volume low (TOTALLY OPTIONAL)... if you just wanna use the software, you just plug the head into the ox and that's it (obviously you would have to make a connection to your interface but that's it)
      short answer = don't plug in a speaker, use the ox app to select your speaker and mics etc..

    Q: How do you connect a combo tub amp. Lets say a Vox AC39HW60 bit confused where some of these the leads go including the guitar lead. Instructions are poor. Your help would be much appreciated.

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  2 года назад +1

      Your AC30HW60 would be connected like this:
      Connect a speaker cable from your amplifiers Power Output jacks 8 or 16 ohms input and plug the other end into the RED from Amp input on back of UA Ox (With A Speaker Cable)
      ((((This allows you to put the UA Ox in between the connection of the amplifier and speaker))))
      Plug your external speaker connection from your amplifier into the speaker input on the back of the UA OX labeled speaker. “If it can reach” or grab another speaker cable and plug one end into an external cabinet and the other end into the ua ox speaker input, you will need to disconnect the combo speaker connection if you go the external cab route because it will bypass the attenuator wrt the combo speakers
      Ensure you have set the ohms to match the 8 or 16 ohms connection you made on the back of the amplifier and into your cabinet…
      If your having trouble locating the external speaker inputs you may need to remove the too back panel to gain access..
      I hope this helps, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years - Kevin

      Instrument cable, a speaker cable are only used for cables that are coming in contact with the back of the amplifier and speaker all other cables from the ox to the interface are normal instrument cables, or a spidf or optical cable if you choose to take that route. - Kevin

    Does it really matter which one you turn on first OX or Tube Amp

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  4 года назад

      Yes, it is extremely important to turn the ox on first..... DON’T operate any tube amp without an output load such as a guitar speaker or OX. Using a tube amp without an output load can permanently damage the tube amp as well you will have a massive blast of sound that can damage your hearing

    Can someone please just answer this simple question. My interface does not have optical in. It's got 2 mic ins and a 1/L output and 2/R output. It's the Apollo solo. For goodness sake what is the cable or cables that I need? why does everything UA have to be a pain in the arse? and why does every cable have 57 Letters and numbers next to it's name just to confuse you even more. Ridiculous. Yes, I'm a noob.

      1L and 2R= Monitor Connection
      Mic Line 1&2= Male XLR or TRS Jacks
      TRS = Guitar Cable
      XLR = Microphone Cable

    Do I need to use a speaker cable for line out of ox box to interface or will regular instrument cable work? I'm using universal audio arrow and only have xlr or 1/4 inputs on this interface.

      LINE / MONITOR Outputs (21)
      The Left and Right LINE / MON outputs are for connecting OX to the analog line-level
      stereo inputs of studio monitors, a computer audio interface, or other audio equipment.
      Both ¼” jacks can accept balanced TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) or unbalanced TS (tip-sleeve)
      connections.
      OX’s front panel LINE OUT knob controls the level at these outputs. At the minimum
      position (0), the outputs are off.
      Note:
      Use only shielded line/instrument cables with these outputs. Don’t connect
      unshielded speaker cables here.

    I don't have WiFi - How do I connect to my PC? I have ethernet

    • @Crypticmaskguitar

      Wifi only limits the app. You can still use the OX, if you want to use the app you’ll need to connect it wirelessly, not sure what your using but unless your running an old PC that is windows XP via early 2010’s and has no wireless capability ur computer is what sends the signal to the ox regardless of the initial connection… if you can set the signal for recognition on the back of the ox and download the ox app and it can receive wirelessly u will be fine but keep in mind you will have no internet access while using the app… sucks but it is what it is because ur exchanging your internet connection for the ox connections - Kevin

      Full hookup of your amplifier head is shown and explained in this video, amp head plugs into red jack and your speaker if you have one plugs into the speaker jack all other external connections are explained as well in video, i hope the video helps you with hooking up your UA OX, its an awesome piece of gear - Kevin
