Hello again. . . If you ever play near Houston TX, I would cancel a gig to come see you play live ! I did get an OXBOX. . . decided it was keeper with in an hour or two of running in g through it.
Great stuff! I really like your videos. I'm working with several UA devices now and your videos always bring a new level of detail that's really helpful and I end up using. Great playing too BTW!
Great information and production quality, thanks so much for putting this out. I have a few nice amps but cranking them into the sweet spot at home can be problematic. The Ox is definitely on my list this year.
Corey, what did you mean by the "50 watt setting" vs the "100 watt setting" on the OX??this is around 13:55 in the video. The back of my OX doesn't have a 50/100 button. Thanks.
Go to 6:30 in the video and you'll see there on the left side of the cabinet view, there is an input level selection choice with a 50 watt and a 100 watt button. It lets you pick the power level of the amp (under 50 or 50 to 100), but it has nothing to do with the reactive load. In other words, you can't damage your amp or OX by being in the "wrong" setting. The OX can handle up to 150 watts by itself. Here's what the manual says about that switch and how it adjusts the software in the OX for best results: "The INPUT LEVEL switch sets the level from the amp (after OX’s reactive load) into OX’s processors. The switch helps match the power output of the tube amp with optimum levels for Dynamic Speaker Modeling."
Corey thanks so much. After experimenting for over six months with the Ox its only when i emulated the six sets you have in this video that i stopped messing around with the sound and just enjoyed playing (the whole point) ! Thanks so much please do more on the Ox and how to refine it within Luna perhaps cheers
Wow, first time I've heard Corey rockin out. I think you should include a rock course to your catalog of Truefire lessons. Awesome playing and tone, as usual!
Corry, the one thing that has always confused me about these kind of videos is where is the music coming from. Is it out of your two rock cabinet or a set of speakers that we can't see? No one ever talks about the setup. Would be good if you could cover that in these videos.
Definitely thinking about a video of my process. I wear in ear monitors and listen to the track through them. I mix the audio later and sync it to the video.
Hey, Corey! Almost two years from when you made this video, are you still using essentially the same six OX presets as defaults? I recently bought a Princeton Reverb and it sounds fantastic with the 1x12 cab, just as you suggested. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!
I have a two rock and friedman. This video really helped dial in great tones. I feel the Ox works best with clean amps vs dirt. I have yet to find a good setting for my friedman EDIT: after experimenting with some of Corey's demos on OX, I finally nailed a tone I have been after using his V30 examples. I can't thank you enough for making this video. I was very close to selling my Ox and I am glad I did not and even more glad I came across your page.
Interesting take. I feel the opposite. The Friedman worked instantly! Have to tweak the Two Rock more on my end because I believe it’s a more sophisticated circuit.
@@coreycongilio Thanks for the reply Corey. I did a deep dive in your channel and you have awesome material. I am happy I stumbled upon your channel. Keep up the good work.
I've been wanting an OX for a long time now but have decided to go with the strymon iridium. I'm looking for more of a plug and play solution - I think the OX is for a player who loves to noodle with their sound and wants a thousand options.
Lancelot Link The reason I love my Ox is precisely because of the immediacy . Honestly, as much as I think the iridium sounds great, the Ox has been the best piece of kit that I have ever bought. I’ve tried every modelling rig that there is and none of them give me the satisfaction that the Ox gives me. My advice would be if you can, find the extra money.
Question. On my App on my iMac the volume controls are slide faders, My good fried just got one and the volume controls on his iMac are volume Knobs instead of faders ??
Hey Corey, love the video and tones from the OX as always. I am a fellow OX and Two Rock user and absolutely love the tone that these pieces of gear give! I am curious what your experience has been recording from home in apartments ect with neighbours close by.. do you usually track on headphones, or if you use monitors what sort of volume do you track at? Cheers, Cam
Hi friends, I have the ox box and I usually record the guitar in clean on two mono channels. What is better to record in stereo two channels in clean in ox box. Thanks
Awesome sound! I almost returned the OX until i figured that setting the output above 4 or 5 with high volume on marshall sounds nasally and ear piercing , harsh. Setting the line out to 4 sounded better. What is your Friedman DS amp settings ? Where you driving the gain and volume really high ?
I don’t recall the settings on the Friedman as it was a loaner from a friend. However, I do recall that the gain was not very high. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Great video and sounds! I have a question about preset's change. In this video you change presets and don't wait long to load. In my OX I must wait 1-2 seconds. Is it normal?
every gear review youtuber should watch this video closely, keep the statements short and to the point, and separate them with some tasty licks. entertainment at its finest!👌
Dude, you are such a great player! You've just put the Ox on my list.
Ox box is in my future in 2020 Great stuff man.
Fantastic, Corey!!! Thank you for sharing your favorite presets.
Fantastic demo!!

These were really useful insights Corey, thanks! I had a tone I was reasonably happy with on Ox but now I've been able to really dial it in.

That tone at 3:13 makes my naughty parts tingle....Love my Ox Box !!!
Dear lord that is hilarious.
That is the magic I hear in my headphones all the time when I have the plate, delay and 1176 compression engaged, just like Corey does!
That was killer!!!
Thx!

As I'm not a pro player, I could never justify the cost of an Ox, so is there a less expensive solution that kinda comes close to what the Ox does?
What is the name of the amp

Very good, the video, I only have one question, what microphone do you use in the room? ambient sound? at no time do you say it
I use a lavalier/lapel mic. That’s it
@@coreycongilio I think he meant the room mic in the app for the Ox.
Please post the link where I can buy your mustache.
Currently sold out!
What Friedman?
Looks like a Dirty Shirley.
i dont even have an amp to plug to the ox
greenyblu just plug a lead into it. The lead will sing.
Sorry, can't watch a video that features a guitar with birds on the fretboard
But you felt compelled to let us know...cool!
