Above average car repair video, excellent even! It will save me a lot of trouble as I look into a possible problem with the window motor. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you, I am trying my best.
If you are done removing the panel and need further informations, here's my link to the side window etc ruclips.net/video/WrrbeoheWsw/видео.html
It isn't in englisch yet, but still understandable I guess.
Good luck!
Thanks for showing installation and the difference is important to know.
You're welcome
I need to take apart an eGolf door to fix (hopefully) a KESSY issue. Do I need to disconnect the 12V battery before taking the door apart? Thanks for any help!
You mean, because its an electric-vehicle? Then: No, usually not, because electric cars can be disassembled and assembled in the same way as cars with normal combustion engines. The electric drive (unless there has been an accident) is not connected to the body, which means that you can proceed in the same way as with a combustion engine. Nevertheless, you are not allowed to disassemble such a car without the appropriate training. Hope that answers your question
@@i-car-us Yes, I guess I just confused things by mentioning that it's electric. It also has a regular 12V battery like any other golf and I was wondering if it's wise to disconnect that before messing with window actuators and door lock systems. Thanks for your kind response and let me know if you would disconnect the car battery before performing in-door work on an ICE golf.
When you remove the wired connections, how did you keep track of what wires go where - are both sides (male and female) colour coded?
Do you mean the window switch?
@@i-car-us yes, all the wires, assuming it is the driver side panel that is being removed.
@@xxMonkey99 no, its the passengers side.
It is actually impossible to connect the cables incorrectly. There are no 2 identical plugs
@@i-car-us This is a great video - thank you! It took me a long time (2hrs) to remove, replace the switch and replace the panel, but it worked! Unfortunately, I broke one of the door clips as I was pulling it out - luckily it is cheap and I'll pick up one at the dealer's - there's got to be an easier way to take them out rather than pulling on it.
Thank you, it's hopeful video. I have question, i need to change the door limiter. I must remove the repro? And repro hold screws or rivet? 👍
Ez task: remove the large plasticcover on the inside , to get access to the inside of the door. Remove the nuts from the limiter at the door, and the screw from it at the a-pillar.
Take the limiter out to the inside of the door and replace it.
@@i-car-us what plastic cover? it is under the door panel? thanks a lot
ruclips.net/video/WrrbeoheWsw/видео.html that's my German channel. You can see me removing the plastic cover at 0:25.
You can reach the limiter through the hole and therefore replace it
Is this the same for the rear ?
Yes
