Something he doesn't mention about the Craftworld Eldar: They have these objects called soulstones, and an Eldar who dies with a soulstone on their person has their soul drawn into the stone rather than being consumed by Slaanesh. These stones, after catching the soul of a dying Eldar, are used in place of A.I. in most of their technology.

    Hell yeah, Necron supremacy! o7
There's also an awesome quote that best embodies how ancient and overwhelming the Necrons are, the only faction that can boast of breaking their own gods.
"My people shackled the stars, and broke mortality when the species you sprang from had barely left the slime pools it spawned in. Our wars burned reality, and the dominion of our kings is without limit. The ground you tread on is not yours; it is ours."

Forced my ass, all the stuff that Bricky described the Dark Eldar doing is all the same they were doing before they birthed a Chaos God.

The main reason why we haven’t had any 40K media is because it’s really dark; studio execs want a new upbeat family friendly Star Wars style sci fi series, and 40K is horror, graphic violence of every kind, an absurdly over the top satire of turbo fascism ( that some folk will inevitably take seriously ffs) and it’s got a lot of action at large scale and that is expensive. Also GW is very protective of their IP to the point of shooting them selves in the foot. Repeatedly.

If you're interested in Necrons (correct choice btw), they have a good amount of distinct characters. As mentioned, Trazyn is a very easy one to enjoy without knowing much. I'd also suggest checking out Imotekh, Szarekh, and Anrakyr.

Chaos is not inherently evil sure, but ti DOES corrupt everything nonetheless.
    1. Khorne - You start off as a warrior looking for honorable fights or as someone who wants to better themselves even if not through fighting, maybe you are fighting for education or better facilities and consider that as your "battle". You get victories and keep on winning, then at some point those wins seem "less" and you need to win more and more. Fight and kill the BIGGEST obstacle and go for greater. Soon, every fight becomes boring and you keep getting more and more enraged. And then fights don't matter, battles don't matter ONLY fighting matters. Soon, as a warriors you're slaughtering entire villages to slake your bloodlust and you lose yourself in the bloodhaze and become a crazed, bloodthirsty thing CONSTANTLY looking for the next slaughter so the you don't keep feeling ENRAGED.
    2. Tzeentch - You have the hope of change and the confidence to pull it off. Soon, the world is yours. But then you realise, what you did, someone else can easily do. So you become cautious and that caution changes to paranoia. You see enemies everywhere and you plan ahead to destroy them before they destroy you. You see schemes and schemers EVERYWHERE. Soon you're totally alone and afraid of EVERYTHING. You start making mistakes, your schemes fall apart and you are ultimately killed or conquered and you again become a slave. THAT'S the nature of the Changer of Ways, his schemes will make you rise to the top and then in the same breath fall all the way back down.
    3. Nurgle - We all rot and die. That brings serenity but that also brings an acute depression that ALL death guard also feel when they, even fo ra moment, are apart from Nurgle's influence. They see what horrifying creatures they have become and recognise the Nihilism that comes with it. ALSO, say you are a doctor and want to cure diseases or there's an epidemic you need to take care of. You try everything, some works some doesn't. One day you bring in a patient and infect them with the disease you're hoping to cure. Soon, you have a line of people you're infected with all manner of diseases to find cures. A voice in your head tells you to go further and build horrific diseases that you can then cure. Then you get infected yourself and finally find the joy of giving yourself to Nurgle and spreading his "gifts" to everyone.
    4. Slaanesh - You like to feel things and let go of your emotions. Good food, delicious drinks, the feeling of triumph in a competition, the drag of a joint. You love it all. But slowly, it becomes "less" and you crave not only more but crave it more potently. Soon, the best chefs cannot make a meal that satisfies you, the best wines lose all taste, every competition feels hollow when you win, so you go further, find "better" typs of foo that satiate you and eat it till you literally burst, or eat "forbidden" things to feel something. You go from alcohol to distilling "other" things to drink to satisfy your thirst. Competition becomes more than just on the field. Soon you lose your mind and start killing to eat flesh and drink blood. EVERY new thing that can be done you try and everything loses value the second you do it. Ultimately, even death is a pleasure you start seeking and die with a smile on your face. Would refer to that movie where that 1 guy becomes SO OBSESSED with creating a new perfume that he starts killing young girls and distilling their bodies for perfume. And at the end he puts that perfume on himself and lets a crowd gone mad with the scent literally eat him alive.

If you want more lore then Luetin is a good place to start. Highly recommend Lord Baldermort and Vox in the Void for audio book style stuff. Bricky also has a podcast called Adeptus Ridiculous. And if you want to follow a hilarious RP game then Magistratum Mundanus on The Black Pants Legion is great.

you can get into the hobby of miniature painting and the wargame easier if you aim for a Kill Team squad.
Which instead of buying a whole army of >50 minis, you just have to assamble like 5 models and you're good to go. which it's pretty much one box of a standard infantry models of any faction.

Necrons are actually a great army to start with, beacause they are really easy to paint.
As for content recomendations: Krak duck, mr. Bones 40k, pancreas no work, weshammer and gaming storyteller are all great channels.
The Poorhammer and Astertes Anonymous Podcasts are also great.

There's a lot of fictional universes that I enjoy wishing I was there. Warhammer consoles me, that the suboptimal aspects of my life or Earth in general, could be SO much worse.
Currently collecting Iron Warriors (Chaos Marines), Tyranids, and Necrons. And I have Combat Patrols for Sisters of Battle, Orks and Leagues of Votann (space dwarves; they're new); but don't know if I want to take them further.
Which armies are you leaning towards? I recommend buying box deals and Combat Patrols for armies you like the aesthetic, as a way to try them out *relatively* cheaply.

40K is a game/setting that can be enjoyed in MANY different ways. Books, comics, video games, models, wargamming. If you don't think you can afford a whole army, start with small units (they have tabletop games for a handful of models or hundreds). There is no wrong way to enjoy what Gamesworkshop has to offer.

Do the Old Ones were very powerful with the warp. The C'tan had no access to the warp and couldn't use it. C'tan were the masters over the materium and could manipulate it in almost every way. They kind of got tired of only feeding on stars and saw the Necrons as an interesting new food.

Astartes is the official name given to the Space Marines (Legiones Astartes) by the Emperor. They are named after the woman who helped designed them essentially “their mother,” Amar Astartes.

I have been watching Warhammer content for the past 4 years and still don't have it all memorized, and to tell you the truth, if anyone does have every last detail memorized, then that is probably the saddest person you will ever know because there is no room for a life outside of that.

The Necrons are a wise choice if you're getting into the tabletop. Since they were one of the signature factions from last edition you can get alot of their models for fairly cheap on eBay and they have some pretty cool character models and vehicles. And more importantly their rules are already out for this edition so you can pretty much start playing them right away.

Before playing and/or collecting models, I’d definitely keep soaking up as much lore as possible to learn about the different necron dynasties and characters! But there is a cheap way to play the game that I’ll admit, isn’t as cool as collecting your own models but saves money. Table top simulator mods and I use that to play. Easy to set up

So In your earlier post you mentioned about space warfare and yes there are space games notably battlefleet gothic armada which is both a computer game on seam and is definitely a watch, and the table top game which no longer exists although a microscopic sub group of the 40K community has and does play the table top version with the old rules and 3d printed models since the models for that game is no longer available or produced outside of buying off second hand from EBay, as for the table top games
    You have
Warhammer EPIC which is basically a scaled down version of the game to allow for much larger scaled battles.
After that is apocalypse’s which is similar a reorganization of the core rules and gameplay mechanics designed to accommodate a much much larger scale game where a standard game is mostly around the two thousand points mark and the largest standard game can be up to about five thousand points that is unless you want to spend multiple days playing a single game. Apocalypse on the other hand is more unit actions and is more back and forwards which is meant to increase the overall speed of the game.
After that in terms of scale is the standard game, which is based around certain models and points, each model has a specific and certain levels of stats ranging from
POINTS (the overall cost of a unit eg a standard squad of guardsmen costs about 65 points
WOUNDS( the catch all term for health/ HP, a model might have say four wounds.
    And so on
Each unit and individual model can be upgraded and customized to fit a players individual play style whilst each different faction has their own unique and distinctive as well as special abilities, such as my personal army the imperial guard, the army having the least amount of characters and individual abilities, but what they lack in overall individual power or abilities they make it up for in both their orders which is kinda like an ability but it’s more individual rather than army wide, so you can give any order from FIX BAYONETS, which basically gives that unit a buff in melee combat or FIRST RANK SECOND RANK FIRE, which basically allows a guard squad to shoot twice, other than that they make up for their lack in abilities and terrible units, by simply being cheaper than any other faction, which allows a guard player to simply drown their enemy’s in either overwhelming firepower or pure bodies where during 9th edition the guard were basically broken AF, since most guard players would bring one or two tanks and just pure conscripts, with a command squad and a few officers, since conscripts would cost about ninety points for a singe squad of THIRTY troopers who yes can’t hit the broadside of a barndoor but who cares, shoot one of them with your commissar and they automatically pass any and all moral phases all the while the enemy are just struggling with having to deal with hoards of infantry, where even their most powerful weapons only has the ability to kill five guys at once and with a commissar in tow they can easily loose up to fifty troopers before they become more or less useless but even then, the enemy is wasting time and energy to kill cheap disposable infantry all the while having double the capture points than most other enemies meaning that as soon as one guy is on an objective there’s no getting them off it😂.
After that the smallest game available and most commonly played is KILL TEAM, it’s a skirmish type game focusing more on individual units or squads rather than the massive grand battles and is a cross between chess and X-com where each player has a set number of units who’s objective is to reach or complete certain goals or tasks in order to beat their opponents and unlike the much larger games, kill team can be bashed out in about an hour or less, vs the standard game which can last up to six hours😂.

    Money saving tips!
Dont buy the official paints, brushes or tools! They are overpriced and there are way cheaper alternatives.
What I did to teach myself paiting before I paited my expensive models . I bought a bag of green plastic armymen, primed them and taught myself how to use contrast paint on them.
They also have a smaller scale game you play with less model called kill team. its $75ish for a full team. And if someone has a full army they can also play kill team with what they already have, it is really more beginner friendly.
