Horrifically expensive to collect the game. Dont do it! It's cool and all, but I'd stick with computer games and the novels. Ciaphas Cain books are all really fun. Rather than being this 'I shall smite in his name!' kinda character, he's more like a regular guy. He likes good drink, good women, and wants to survive. To bad he's REALLY good at surviving...so he's clearly a hero, and needs to lead more men into battle, right? RIGHT!?

You should try them all, besides the melee and gunplay feels similar they all have something different to bring to the table and can shift the battle in different ways =) From the initial cinematics, after checking the videos with lore information, what do you think of the warp travel? 😱

Warhammer community is great, we love the hobby and the universe so when we see someone interested we want them to feel what we feel, we embrace and share so more and more people can enjoy the hobby. Money saving tips! Dont buy the official paints, brushes or tools! They are overpriced and there are way cheaper alternatives. What I did to teach myself paiting before I paited my expensive models . I bought a bag of green plastic armymen, primed them and taught myself how to use contrast paint on them. They also have a smaller scale game you play with less model called kill team. its $75ish for a full team. And if someone has a full army they can also play kill team with what they already have, it is really more beginner friendly.

A combat patroll box (core of an army) is about $200 online, you can get it cheaper though

"How much money can I spend on this hobby?" Yes. (Joking aside it depends on the size of games you wanna play, little skimish or huge all day wars, but i dont know anyone that stopped at a little amount)

Try the video games first [Space Marine 2 will launch next month], if u enjoy the universe and a particular army, then start planning for the tabletop models, they are a bit expensive and they require assemble and paiting

after bricky's video's on the factions. if you want to go more in depth of the factions, I highly recommend Pancreasnowork's "do or don't" series of the various factions in which he goes a bit more in depth in the lore then bricky for these.

I watched your reaction to bricks every Warhammer 40k faction, glad you enjoyed it, have you checked out weshammer? He does deep dives in lore, and he released one a couple days ago, an hour long video of the imperial assassins, bricks version of the assassins was out of date focusing on the 4 main temples, but there is 6 and we only got models on the last two quite recent (which reminded me to order them), hope you checked it out. It depends on the army, there are RUclipsrs explaining what army is cheeper and how they work. A funny and cheep one to start with to me are the imperial knights, you play fewer big ass units and they are quite good on the winning statistics. I got the chaos version and it’s the army that has cost me the least, the imperial are much stronger apparently.

I suggest you watch the videos on SBMM by Sajam, he's a fighting game guru who's whole thing is to help others get better at fighting games. He makes a good case for SBMM.

You're very, very welcome my friend! The Warhammer community is just a big group of passionate nerds, and the vast majority of us love seeing new people discover the hobby we love so much. In the lore... many many space and air fights. But the board game hasn't been a thing for awhile I think. But video games space fights in 40k are a thing in "Battlefleet Gothic"

You don't need to buy minis to be into the fandom. There are weirdos who may say you have to buy to be allowed to enter. But there are so many way you can enjoy warhammer you can do anything you want.

It's always nice to see another one falling into the deep rabbit hole that is Warhammer 40k, and being genuinely interested and fascinated by the lore and factions. Like, it's one thing to just react to it like: "Oh, that's cool. Nice. Wow. Whoa. That's so dark... Anyway." but you actually wanted to learn more, you wanted consume the lore, and actually wanting to engage with it. So have fun! Pick your favourite faction, learn all about it. Check out The Lamenters lore if you want to be sad. Or the Ogryn lore if you want to read all about the best and goodest bois in The Imperium.

How much it will cost? I use to play so let me tell you this. Next to your army you need the codex for that army. You need your paint, brushes, clippers, and hobby knives. A box of 10 soldiers or troops will cost around 50 bucks ( no paint no nothing just the models). You need your glue and other things. So you can make it as cheap as you want or as expensive as you want. Ow and dont forget about the rule book you need that too.

The T'au have quite a few skeletons in their closet, though. They're known to sterilize entire populations, forcibly indoctrinate anyone who refuses to bow down to their rule and will not hesitate to conquer other races through brute force if they can't do so through diplomacy. They're also known to hide some very important truths about the 40k universe from their own citizens.
