You might have seen this power meter in some of my other videos and wondered to yourself... "How do I build such an amazing contraption?"
Well in this video, I show you how to do just that!

Great project box you did. I did a similar one with a single Drok and stuck it on my AC condenser unit. The voltage connection goes across the two 120 legs on the contactor so the display reads 238 V. The doughnut has one of the hot legs going through it to measure the current. When the 4 ton unit is running, it measure 3,675 watts and 16.4 amps. I guess what I’m a little confused about is whether or not the kilowatt hours is accurately being calculated and how only having one of the 120 legs being used for the current draw affects the display values. Since the other leg has 16 A, presumably running on it as well I guess you would 7:08 characterize this as drawing 32 A total? Same question with the watts.

is there a reason you are using the 3 prong twist lock? Its nice to quickly identify the receptacle is 220v, but the regular 3 prongers are cheaper and more plentiful. Do you have a preference?

I like that they lock in securely. Plus that's what my power meter box came with so I rolled with it :]
