I'm from the US and this is my first Ashes that I've been able to watch. The Ashes has already become one of my favorite sporting events. It's absolutely riveting.
Except when there's play for 5 days and results in a 'draw' or 'tie' as some call it. Sometime's watching paint dry is more exciting. This Series has been good so far.
Try watching IPL as well, the biggest festival of cricket.
And there are two more yet to come in this series.

What an underrated all rounder Chris woakes! Nobody has talked much about him but he had played crucial roles in both the innings with both bat and ball,Truly an amazing guy to see on field,He provides a bit stability too in the lower middle order to the English team,him along with wood were responsible for all outing Australia twice before they could have reached big!

The man Mitchell Starc he gave his heart for this game. In this age he bowling consistant scary 145+ kmph with full of swing and accuracy. Now he doesn’t play Francaise Leagues. Only provide national team. Best bowler of current era.
Wood is also 33 years old tho. So is Starc. The fastest ball so far from Starc in this series was clocked at 149kph, Starc can definitely bowl about 5-6 kmph faster but he's saving those for the World Cup ofcourse. The batsmen won't see them coming.

@@balaabhishek.m885 strangling down legside doesn't mean they are poor deliveries lol. You can't keep bowling same line length, you have to bring variations. You have to keep confusing the batsman. As a bowler You have to keep yourself from being predictable. That's why Starc has almost stopped bowling Yorkers because he becomes too predictable that his Yorkers become non lethal deliveries.
You might say Starc gets smashed sometimes. But guess what? He doesn't care. Australia already has many 'line length' focusing bowlers, if every bowler bowl same type of delivery no wickets will come. Starc's job is attacking, he either attacks the stumps and if it doesn't work he lures the batsmen into playing poor shots and picks wickets, he tricks the batsmen into believing that he can score by giving easy deliveries, and then produces an unplayable one.

The Rain completely turned the game in England's favour. Australia got destroyed in 2nd innings in overcast conditions and England batted in under a brighter sun while chasing the target. If it wasn't for that rain...the result would have been different.

It was definitely starc's catch.
Tho Cummins captained pretty well overall but in the later part of the game he made many mistakes, especially not not giving Starc another over after he took out Bairstow and stokes. At that moment England needed 80, and when Cummins called Starc back only 30 were needed by England to win. Very late call.
The ashes series is always exciting!! This one is one of the best so far and the next two matches are set up for an exciting finish!! And most importantly the energy of the crowd makes it a goosebumps type of environment in many situations during the matches!!

This series has all potential to become the greatest series ever to topple the 2005 one
But 2005 fielding from England was awesome (although not fair). This time around both teams have been terrible in the field. Everyone is talking about England's drops but Aus so far have also dropped at least 12-15 chances. Extremely poor fielding levels throughout the series.
For many cricket fans, nothing will ever top the 1981 series, which Australia somehow lost despite having the best batsman (Border) and the best 2 bowlers (Alderman and Lillee) due to some spectacular individual performances at key moments.
