The very first death is Phil looking at a sign with a skull on it, jumping in the water and saying he didn't know it would kill him. This is gonna be good.

13:23 it’s 2024 and game developers don’t expect somebody to have to replay the same section thousands of times because they’ll pass it in a couple tries
"badly designed, by wasting my time introducting a new mechanic" how are they meant to introduce what to do then? the salt was real on those button based levels
Why does bro always complain a game has no checkpoints 💀there would literally be no challenge at all. Oh wait he wants a game to baby him as much as possible.
cause it his one of his most hated thing in gaming, if there any ounce of backtracking or no checkpoint, to him it the worst. he think SONIC 06 is bad cause of the checkpoint, yes, SONIC 06 checkpoint is what he think is People problem with the game
@@ArcadianGenesis TBF, the challenge stages take you pretty far back, but they are never more than a minute long from start to finish and they are optional. Problem is, Phil gets mad for losing 2 seconds of progress on anything in the main levels, this game got pretty forgiving checkpoints.

I assume this would be a chill boring TiHYDP like Astro's Playroom, but Phil gets really angry every time he dies, so I'm glad Phil gave me the material for a hilarious TiHYDP.
He has to be doing this shit on purpose I swear to god. 2:54 he can literally see the snake to swing across which he presumably did already and then when jumping down to look where to go he did nothing when the enemy bot flew overhead. Genuinely he HAS to be playing like shit on purpose there is no fucking way he is this bad.
I’d say take a shot for every time he blames the game “introducing new mechanics this far into the game”… but we’d either a: have liver failure or b: be no longer alive
Watching an enemy behavior or hazard appear earlier in the video, and then re-appear later on, to which Phil goes “what the fuck was that they’ve never done that before!” is pure gemerald
It just insane that 3 is his most hated all because of his overused of ink ribbons and i'm shocked he didn't mention re0 as well cause he ragequit earlier this year
Technically, Phil died 2,506 times in Super Mario Maker 2 according to Giriel's TiHYDP, but those are user generated levels that are way harder than the ones Nintendo makes themselves.
I finished the game, got the platinum trophy, and died less than 100 times. Phail has died 100 times and he's not even a third through the game. Phail making us old gamers feel good by always being so bad 🤣
People struggling with the challenge levels, i give a pass to. More specifically the button levels. I've 100%'d the game 3 times, and those never feel like they get that much easier on each playthough, especially the GMC. Everything else however, i dont think he has much excuse for.
I hate agreeing with Xehasnort but he is right about checkpoints. Too many companies still think that a lack of checkpoints equals challenge when it doesn't. Make your stupid challenge ten times harder but give me checkpoints so that I don't feel like I'm just wasting my time. A prime example for how to do it right: Metal Gear Rising. Even the boss battles in that game had checkpoints but you could still get stuck on a boss on higher difficulties. Hell, platinumed that game (including all DLCs) and I got stuck at Monsoon and Armstrong for over an hour each. And don't even get me started on some of those vr missions. What I'm trying to say is that MGR:R is one of the toughest games I have ever played but, aside from one or two vr missions, the game never felt frustrating. Why? Because it didn't waste your time. You didn't have to wait for an enemy to kill you if the battle didn't went the way you wanted. You didn't have to sit through a drawn-out Game Over screen and then load your game again. No! You could load your checkpoint straight from the pause menu within just a few seconds. Such an wesome experience that game was.
Better articulated than DSP ever could. Phil probably couldn't even name a game if asked what game does checkpoints better. I haven't played Astro Bot, but those challenge stages are optional, but I feel like I probably would of got tilted a bit on some of those later ones, but not as much as Phil gets. But Phil also gets mad at the boss fights, which are not all that long and difficult in this game, and complains about having to redo it from the start when he died less than a minute in the fight. I was playing DKC2 without save states on the switch (except when I end my session, since I don't want to lose my extra lives and coins), and that games has a lot of cheap deaths and checkpoints are pretty spread apart, and I think I finding the game more frustrating than Uncharted 1 ever was. As annoying as some sections are, Uncharted 1 is super generous on checkpoints.
The very first death is Phil looking at a sign with a skull on it, jumping in the water and saying he didn't know it would kill him. This is gonna be good.

The game's cute. Dave makes it look like a rage game.
It's really not, because even when you die, it resets you almost exactly the moment before you died. So there's never a sense of danger.
