Hard to believe that one is 23 years old already... feels like it was just yesterday I was attending my first Rhapsody concert in 1998... guess, Rhapsody managed to give us a timelass classic there.
I've never clicked so fast before. ROF is a band should be more present in reaction videos. They are one of the symphonic metal pioneers alongside Nightwish and Therion (this album came out in 1998), and their productions are cinematic level. Fabio Lione is one of the greatest voices in metal history, his versatility and vocal prowress is insane (sorry for my english). React to their other classic banger, Dawn of Victory, or if you want an operatic masterpiece, Symphony of Enchanted Land.
After more than 20 years Rhapsody is still one of my favourite bands. Awesome band
Rhapsody is a band from Italy. They released their first album 1997. This album was from 1998 which is their second album. They are still active.
They combine Manowar style power metal with classical music. Their sound has been evolving since the late 90s. They were categorized as Score Metal when they started. The song SYMPHONY OF THE ENCHANTED LANDS is a masterpiece.

I think you could make a claim that this is symphonic power metal. Actually, Rhapsody created a really long musical saga that spanned over five albums, I believe. And late Christopher Lee used to be a big fan of them. He was featured with the singer Fabio Lione in one of their singles singing a duet of sorts.
"The Mystic Prophecy of the Demon Knight" is an absolutely godly fairytale of a song. Christopher Lee plays the Gandalf-type wizard and secondary narrator.
Best power metal band! If you do another you should do "Black Dragon."

You just listened to the best peace of music created by mankind! Listen to it 5 times and then you will have it on rewind for the rest of your life... maybe seasoned with Dawn of Victory every 3 times

Good reaction, one of my favorite bands, the only complaint I will have with you is that rhapsody of fire, has many songs that have an intro, in this case Emerald Sword has epicus furor as an intro, listening to those 2 together is a delight. BTW keep going
This song is pretty much cheesy symphonic power metal perfection. No matter what, this song will always get me hyped up.

Back in the days the best of the best u could get in Epic Symphonic Power Metal. Symphony of Enchated Lands is actaully a Concept that goes over 5 albums. This one is the second album.

If you're interested in more recent Rhapsody with heavier vocal parts you need to check "Reign of Terror". Still pretty catchy and symphonic yet kind of brutal...
Love RoF but if you’re getting into more power metal you should also check out Blind Guardian. I know they are more “mainstream” but they are the band that got me into power metal heavy duty in the first place. I listened to Helloween and Manowar before them but they didn’t speak to me as much. Iced Earth is good as well

This song doesn't display much of what Rhapsody is capable of. Listening to their early albums in their entireties shows that this band goes far beyond ordinary power metal with their strong influences of classical music and medieval/nordic folk music, really painting a Tolkien-like landscape of magic and storytelling. And the songwriting and the sing along-choruses are some of the best I've ever heard to top it off.
They found their thing and did it perfectly.

Unknown to me, the seeds were planted in my 14 year old brain in 2008, when I discovered Nightwish, and Dragonforce. Some 7 years later, in 2015 I went to a Nightwish concert, where Sabaton played as well, I bought a few of thier songs soon after (I was super poor at the time, and couldn't afford a streaming service subscription 😢).
And in 2018, while working in restaurant that had Pandora, I'd put on the Sabaton station before opening, and got a huge influx of "similar" Power bands, I started an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription added all those songs, which then started recommending more Power Metal songs, I added those, and even more were recommended, and I continued adding them. The cycle has yet to end.
It's called the Power Metal Rabbit Hole, and the moment you fall in, there's no going back. Not because there isn't a way out, but because you'll never want to leave.
And heres a recommendation that the fruits of this cycle have beared very recently for me.

I love Rhapsody's first albums, from the time I was really into powermetal in the late 90s... but the lyrics... are some of the cheesiest lyrics in the history of heavy metal. Wallace and Gromit approve of the cheesiness.
The only other album I can think with similarly cheesy lyrics is Viper's Soldiers of Sunrise. But then, that album was written when André Matos was 16 years old. Their next album had much more mature lyrics.
(ps: they are not cheesy because of the fantasy setting... Blind Guardian's Nightfall on Middle Earth is also fantasy, but the lyrics are awesome)
