Hi Chris, I've recently found your videos and I'm so grateful I found a Birmingham photographer. I hope to see more videos of you shooting in Birmingham including vlogs etc. I think photography in Birmingham is very hard to find online idk maybe it's the strict rules. But I hope you have a great day! You're a huge inspiration to me. 🖤🖤
+Meloccino Cappuccino hey 👋🏼 thanks for the dope comment and I’m glad you enjoy my home city il be sure to post more videos about it once I’m back in the uk for longer periods of time 😅💪🏼
No, unfortunately this model does not but the larger size one I have does the 32c I also made a video on it here in RUclips. This monitor connects only through hdmi and display port
Glad I found this video, I'm surprised there aren't too many videos on the BENQ monitors. Does this model have the M-book color setting, or is that only on the newer monitors?
@@CharlieHunt cool Thanks then i Will order one , womt be hard to outperform my 12 year old Samsung syncmaster 😅. Looked at the sw27 inch bUt its double the price
It’s fine brother , so out of the box it’s calibrated nicely no adjustments needed, u get a calibration sheet to prove the monitors individually calibrated tolerance. Some people don’t think it looks right out of box but u got to remember if you’ve been starting at an uncalibrated monitor for years or a home calibrated monitor then suddenly see a professionally tuned setup it’s going to take some getting used to with the eyes! Sorry for the long reply lol ye it’s bang on out of box 😂💪🏼
Nice review. Is this monitor good for streaming movies and watching youtube as well? I do photo and video editing but also stream a lot. How do you find it? Cheers.
I was using it for two years doing exactly what you asked and I can honestly say the monitor is awesome for it, recently I’ve moved on to BenQs 4k version which is miles better but costs nearly 5times the price! Trust me this little monitor doesn’t disappoint such beautiful colours and depth
@@CharlieHunt Actually may I ask you what video card you are using? I do not think my current GTX 1060 supports 10-bit to match this monitor. Any card recommendations?
I’m currently using the radeon rx 5700 xt it was a real good bang for buck even allows me to play triple aaa games to at 4k 60fps pretty nice card for a great price
Great review, it really helped me as i am looking forward to purchasing this monitor. Question Do you use an external graphics card such as Nvidia Quadro or interrogated graphics card to do all the post-processing?
great review! if i'm plugging this monitor into my laptop, which I've changed RGB display values to try and manually calibrate.... will these need to be reset?? or is the signal coming out from the HDMI port not effected by these changes?? many thanks
Hey mark yeah I think you may have to reset your calibrated settings within the laptop some laptops don’t send this information through hdmi or dp but just to be sure and accurate I would start from scratch with it! Help it helps 💪🏼
@@CharlieHunt one more question if I may.... I am having trouble deciding on whether it is better to go with the 24inch HD option, or the 27 inch 2K option... I havnt seen the 2K option, and not sure if I will need to do some display scaling to make text and icons big enough to be usable. And not sure how this will effect lightroom and photoshop. But 2K option does look good in terms of pixel density. Your thoughts?
I personally only had the use of the 24inch which I believe is also 2k it was great for Lightroom and photoshop although when I switched to the 4k model recently I realised how much ppi and real estate I was missing out on , so maybe the 27inch may just suit you better, after all 27” at around 2k is nearly the sweet spot for pixel per inch 💪🏼 all the best buddy thanks for stopping by
+Gregory Jala Kharbhih I’m sorry I don’t have the answer to this but I do have a older pc running a GeForce stryx 950 I think it’s called which runs 10bit ✌🏼 maybe that helps
@@CharlieHunt Thanks for info. If you could clarify the following it will really help 1. What difference do you see between your old monitor and the new Monitor? 2. What impact does a large colour gamut monitor has on the appearance of photos? 3. Do photos appear more correct or as they really are? 4. Is there a difference when viewing jpeg photos in an 8bit and 10bit Monitor? 5. Lightroom or capture one pro hasn't yet support 10bit open GL. How do you edit your photos in 10bit colour gamut? Thank you
This monitor would still need to be calibrated but from my experience when you get it out of the box the colours stay very consistent I have calibrated mine once since I made that review and it still looks the same as it originally did when it came precalibrated by benQ so in reality after 2years of constant use it hasn’t had any colour shifting at all yet
is it too dim? like in the morning my room is pretty bright by sunlight. Will that be a problem for 250 nits? I'm worried cuz the screen hood is not really available in my country.
+Skrunch hey thanks for the comment I haven’t noticed any backlight bleeding in this monitor at all and as far as viewing experience it really is a level above your normal desktop monitor it’s vivid edge to edge and the viewing angles are far superior to my previous top of the range LG monitor
@@CharlieHunt Thank you very much for the quick and thorough response :) I really appreciate it. I'll definitely be giving this monitor a try sometime soon.
Hi Charlie thanks for this great video..i bought this monitor last week and i have this problem..I calibrated the screen using the Palette Master Element software that comes with the monitor but everytime i change mode from adobe rgb to srgb or to black and white ,the calibration change.. this happens everytime i shut down the pc as well..so i have to recalibrate the screen a lot ..Does this happens to you as well?
+John Amaro hey, it’s normal for the screen to change colour when switching between colour spaces like srgb etc but if u mean the calibration u setup is changing then I would contact Benq and see what they say, I haven’t recalibrated my monitor yet as I’ve checked it twice since owning it and it hasn’t had any colour shifts yet they are really accurate the day u buy them. I hope benQ can help you fix the problem 💪🏼
@@CharlieHunt hey thanks for the reply. Yes the calibration settings change everytime i restatr the pc. Also i get some strange orange/red colors on youtube videos. Other than that the screen is amazing though
I've been looking at this monitor, due to being "reasonably priced" but not sure if a 27inch would be better, especially for video editing, but then more means extra cost for hobbyist me.... decisions .... decisions...🤣📷👍
+Tony Whitfield thanks for the comment tony! Well I’ve been editing video on this monitor for just over a month now and it’s awesome previously I had a LG 32inch which was great to be honest after a week I didn’t notice the difference in screen size but I did notice the difference in colour! This thing has billions of colour detail and boy it shows! I would love to do a side by side budget photography monitor next to three middle priced range I don’t think there would be much difference tho to be honest!
@@CharlieHunt Thanks Charlie ..I may well give it a bash! I've got a few days off end of May and want to play around with my Fujifilm, but current monitor is rather pants for my Fujifilm X-T3 and Capture One usage. I shall indeed then see whether my lack of photog skills or my current naff monitor is to blame! Will let you know how the new purchase goes...or how pants my photog skills really are!! 🤣👍😊📷🇬🇧
+Tony Whitfield I’m sure your skills are awesome the monitor will help with confidence knowing that your colours are where they are supposed to be! Just remember srgb will look pants after u spend hours using adobe rgb 😅 but u still have to edit in it for online use 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@CharlieHunt I'm trying to decide between this Benq and a view sonic vp2468, so that would be a good comparison. I know the ben q will be better but, not sure if its worth the $
U have Sony to blame for that lol I just hit record back then didn’t edit the colours it’s all from the camera so 🤷🏻♂️ what can I say 🤷🏻♂️sorry it offended u
This video is perfect, this same problem I'm facing...thank you for sharing
