I am surprised you didn't talk about the drawings. To me, the main advantage to Copy Design, is creating a new drawing for each new part. However, it doesn't tell you that it is creating these drawings for the child parts and will not allow you to change the name said drawings. I use Copy Design frequently and hate it.
Now I see why I couldn't figure out this stupid Copy Design. I also didn't know I could enable the old one. Guess what I'm going to do as soon as I can! Thanks for the video. Glad to see it wasn't just me. haha
Oh my god this copy design is awful! Thank you so much for (also) this instruction video. Your inventor and vault videos have been lifesavers for me. I've had to change cad system from sw to inventor last summer (new job). Also I was appointed to take control of PDM and ERP... Your videos are so much better than autodesk help. Thank you! Also love the cursing!
Great video and content on your channel, sub'd! Solidworks / SW PDM Pro user/admin myself for +30 users, I like to stay educated about the other software solutions and the pro's and con's of the different packages. Lets just say you have made me hate Solidworks / PDM Pro and it's bugs slightly less. Facing enough problems/bugs/resistance from users with the SW PDM Pro, don't even want to imagine the task with Vault. Really unimpressed in general with the major CAD vendors and their offerings, especially with the massive amount of money people are throwing at them and in return we get bug riddled software with sometimes ridiculous usability issues. and other major flaws that remain unfixed for years. Regression & reintroducing old bugs is one of my biggest pet peeves which happens way too often.

Spot on, Copy Design in it's current state is a steaming pile.

I am happy that the current customer I work for uses Vault Basic, I did not know that copy design tools are different in Vault levels.

I bloody hate how they brutalised the Copy Design tool... 2.0 could have been so so good, but no, they got creative and cocked it up.
watching this makes me glad i decided to go solidworks route
Overall on balance it does the job, it's just lazy product design for the layout and presentation.
It is truly is a complete train wreck. I am glad thay didn't do that to Vault Basic.
