Because nobody has played guitar completely in tune and matching the major scale for 70 years. we're so used to hearing it bent and out of tune that when it perfectly stays on every note and doesn't leave the major scale it sounds comical.
@@chetruane Equal temperament vs just intonation is not a big enough difference to explain why it sounds funny. It's intentionally disjointed and I'd say the tone they use on that riff is already goofy by design.
