Thanks for the very clear and easy to understand guide! I find the pause/stop and the speaker screen minimize to be very useful to know about. Keep up with your quality content :)
I'll soon be recording a half hour interview. Your on the fly editinng instructions (ie stopping & starting filming AND switching from gallery to speaker view) will be an easy way to do a semi-pro job. Thankx!!!
I needed a way to record myself for an online course but I needed the virtual background so my bed wouldn't show in the recording. This is perfect because my slides will be the main attraction, not me.
Hey Ida. Just came across your video while browsing how to record myself on Zoom. Great resource. It was succinct and very helpful. Love the cheerful attitude too and I didn't know Zoom had all these resources. I'm looking forward to exploring the software more. Thanks again. Blessings to you. Btw, please tell Ryan I said hello. Lol. :)
thanks, this is very helpful! i'm going to be leaving my current job, where i've been for more than five years, and i wanted to record some tutorials to show them how to do what i've been doing. :) this is just what i was looking for - how to record video of screen sharing.
Ida, you taught me so much with this playlist on Zoom that I passed it on to my business friend. It looks like he is using Zoom to market his YT channel. I've told 2 business friends this week about your wonderful channel, and I'm happy to tell more. I think the world of you and what you are sharing with everyone. Thanks again from Robin.
`thank you i needed this video to understand how to do it. I was getting a little frustrated but now I need my youtube to listen to my meditative music .,....lol
Okay... so you made this three years ago. And I'm just now, for the first time, attempting to make my first video. You are so far ahead of me. Smh. Being that I can't figure out how to record anything, I remembered that Zoom has a record feature. Thank you for this video! You give me hope that, with a little more investigation, I'll be able to join the rest of the human race and make a video.
I actually started video in 2009 and my first project I spent days trying to figure out how to save it so I can share it just to have it pulled from Facebook because of the music. Video is like anything else the more you do it the easier it gets. Something that really helped me when I first started my RUclips channel was thinking of how good I would be a year from now. You won’t get it all at once but if you keep at it it will get easier. You got this and I know in your year from now you’re going to be so proud of yourself for taking action and doing it!!!
@@WonderfulIda How kind of you to reply. Yesterday, I filmed myself for a few seconds just on my personal tablet camera. What I saw sent me to Amazon to order $50 worth of makeup. Yes, it was that bad. I may need to ask you a video question in the near future. I'm going to make a seven minute video in sign language for the deaf. Huge backstory. I "woke up" from Jehovah's Witnesses five years ago, and now I want to help others leave it, too.
@@vitisbp1131 Oh i love that. So happy you can help others. and the best thing for Makeup is powder so that you aren't to shinny. I've honestly started using less makeup the more I film. I just use powder, an eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow (neutral colour) and mascara. I used to think I needed more but quickly realized its more about the message than what I look like. And my first time filming youtube videos I filmed for 8 hours just to get a blooper reel. And as far as your voice goes. It takes 6 months to get used to the sound of your voice.
@@WonderfulIda That's good advice. Can you believe? The one makeup I didn't order was powder. Lol. That will be on my next order. I'm going to have to figure out how to do a voice over. The signs I make don't match up with the spoken words. I mean, that's just the way it is with sign language always. Also, I need either a remote control for my camera or else an assistant, because the camera has to be far enough away from me to show my head and arms, plus a little further out. I'm glad you told me how long it took you to "get it right". Thank you for your support.
@@vitisbp1131 when im filming myself from far away and need to see it I use my watch. i have an iphone with an apple watch and you can see yourself in the watch and press record when you are ready to start without having to touch your phone. That might be a good option for you.
Thank you so much...do you have a video for next steps how to then upload your video to RUclips Channel? This would be a great next step and one I would use right away... this was truly amazing...
I tried a short test video trying out recording while in Netflix, and I didn’t get a pop up of me anywhere on the screen. Do you know why that might be?
This was very helpful, except when I open Zoom I don't have the same page. Are you paying for Zoom? I don't have the option to select new with the video icon.

Hello. I'd like to do something different: host a meeting with one person, record it, but have the recording ONLY SHOW the other person (with his permission, of course), and never show myself in the recording... Is it possible to do this (with a free Zoom account)? If it is possible, how? Thanks.
This is very helpful. The only problem I have is the professor wants to see most of the body. I swear it irks me. You can see my hand gestures while I'm sitting down, I don't need to stand up

Very valuable video, thank you 🙏🌹 I want to record videos of lectures for an online course to explain a program, and I need of course to have my picture shown on the side of the screen while I am speaking, what is the best program that I can record lessons through?
If you want to do it for free zoom is great for that. My only concern would be the speed of your computer. I would test it out first. All you need to get in a good USB microphone.
@@WonderfulIda I don't know how I can thank you for your great interaction with me, my computer speed is kinda good because I use it in graphic design work, and with regard to the microphone I have AUX microphone I think is good, and I will look a little bit about Loom program, thank you very much again
Thanks for the very informative video on zoom. I have a question: How do we record yourself alone while having notes to read for video but not record the notes screen/content or hide it on the video? Is this possible with zoom or are there other free apps for the same? Thanks
I would have the notes pulled up and just record with your laptop camera. That way there is no lag from zoom. Also make sure your notes are on a white page the additional light will help with lighting.
You can but it will crop it in the middle so it might not look good. If you want to keep that in mind when you’re filming and put yourself in the middle and make sure you’re not too close to the camera.
How would you take the next step of combining all 3 of those short videos into a long one? For example, I want my talking head to begin, then share my screen and go over some numbers with a customer, then I want to go back to my talking head to conclude. Do I just do all of this as 1 long video, sharing my screen in the middle?
hi, im facing a prob in this, even after pausing the video at the end, converting video, the paused time also getting recorded, how to stop that? please help me with this. Thanks!
Try stoping and starting the recording. It typically works for me. And if not then you would have to use an editing program to edit it out. You can use Canva or DaVinci resolve both have free options.
@@WonderfulIda Again I just watched the video, and actually got the point.. With the help of that submitted 3 of my assignments. Thank you...And downloaded Canva and davinci for future use. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!❤️❤️❤️
