after i went vegan my depression just went awtr after 4 years, and i truly believe that including more fruits and eating plantbased made it happen!!!
I feel much better emotionally when I am eating healthy.

could you do more juice, smoothie, and dehydrated recipes? I love those so much!
I really like this recipe because it has very few and simple ingredients that are mostly easy to find
good fats actually do reverse depression and other issues, especially in women, so yeah chia flax greens and berries are so helpful!
Eating more fruits and veggies definitely helped me better deal with my emotions. I became much calmer in general and I don't feel that I have to take part in other people's dramas. Go vegan!

Depression is a hormonal problem. just like all emotions, depression has to do with your hormones being out of whack. Yes, your smoothie is wonderful, but people need to remember that eating healthy whole foods that are not from animals is the best for balancing hormones. This is especially shown in the diets for Polycystic ovarian syndrome. Do your research folks, you'll be better for it.
Hi, Rawvana! I enjoy watching your videos for your positive outlook and delicious recipe videos. It's a great thing to promote healthy eating and happy living, and I'm sure you inspire your viewers each and every day! You are right: depression can be a real disease. Also healthy eating and exercise can help reduce or eliminate symptoms of mental illness for certain people.
However I wanted to point out something in this video that didn't sit right with me.
I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder as many of my family members do. Personally, what has helped me the most is medication and therapy. In supplement to this, healthy living is very important and recommended by my doctors and therapists. I have been vegan for over seven years, and a diet high in fruits and vegetables is very beneficial to me. But I still need medication and therapy, and there is nothing wrong with that.
What bothered me about this video is how food is presented as cure for mental illness -- and perhaps it is for certain people -- but some people *need* medication. It is dangerous to present the idea of taking medication as shameful, wrong, or unnecessary. I realize that this is likely not your intent in this video, but I just wanted to point this out and let other viewers know that it is perfectly alright to utilize medication and therapy in combating mental illness (if necessary and prescribed by your physician). It's important to mention this in combating mental illness stigma.
You are an inspiration to viewers all around the world, and I think you do a great service to the RUclips community. This is not a hate comment, as I am proudly one of your fans and I support your videos, but rather I wanted to point out that sometimes medication is necessary and no one should be ashamed of that. Thank you for continuing to make lovely videos!

Just because you're vegan doesn't mean you are healthy & depression can still be in your life. Some bodies just aren't made for 100% vegan but yes fruits & veggies are so important you just don't have to be 100 % but listening to what your body needs is super important as well. The other thing is there are vegans who don't know how to be vegan & can become very sick if you don't do it right so yes you can be vegan & still have depression, & meds aren't for everyone either some people might need them others might not it all depends on your body.
This smoothie looks wonderful & I am going to try it out, I suffer from depression also & sure it "might" not cure me but it will help me get on the right track.

Holy Moly Yovana, where did you find those huge mason jar mugs I have a lot of smaller ones but that size would be perfect for huge smoothies. Less going back and forth for a fill up... lol

Sounds like a yummy smoothy recipe. You're right about apples containing fibre, but after blending them the effects of the fibre are largely neutralized.
That's so not true. She's blending not juicing. All of the fiber is still there and readily accessible to the body. This in no way takes away the fiber benefit.
Shawnte Amoure Simmons The reason smoothies spike blood sugar more compared to just eating the same fruits is considered to be mainly caused by the fact that the fibre in most smoothies is no longer in-tact. And also cause drinking smoothies is a lot easier and faster than eating similar amounts of fruit, but you're right the fibre is still in there, but like I said it's no longer intact, so it's going to pass though your system a lot faster,. By the way blending large amount of fruits isn't the most dangerous thing one can do,blending up large amounts of nuts like cups at one go and consuming the result is probably as dangerous as drinking oil for the same reason. When one eats nuts it's almost impossible to chew them so well all the fats are absorbed, but if you blend them up destroying their fibres the fats become as bioavailable as the fat in oils, thus paralysing your cells. If I blend something with nuts I make sure it's not more than a hand full.
do you normally eat the greens of berries as well? just curious because you put them into your blender.

Eating healthy foods that realise endorphins in the brain which makes you happy. I do believe that foods can make you a lot happier and relieve some of the sadness from being depressed. So anyone saying that this is wrong shouldnt

Please don't act as if a smoothie can eliminate depression. The way your body works is not how others work. I'm a healthy vegan and am still suicidal. Without my meds I would be dead. It's insulting for people with diseases for people to act as if there is a cure just because it worked for some. I really love your content and channel I just wish you would say "helps with" not "eliminates".
