How can you seriously not like FC RX-7's? They're the pick of the bunch, nicer steering/handling and better power than the first gens and a lot less complex and expensive than the FD. Not that I wouldn't have a nice S3 or an FD if finances allowed, but bang for buck the FC wins hands down, as far as I'm concerned.
Greetings from Tasmania, Australia. I have a mint condition 1990 S5 JDM FC coupe. Love all your content. S5 has different gauges, but the surround is similar with the indicator switches still in it and not on the steering column.
Yo! I'm pretty new to the whole rotary thing, and I just recently picked up an 82' FB after being inspired by your videos haha I'm trying to get it started right now, but I'm just running into a couple roadblocks. Do you answer rotary questions on your patreon?? I did dm you on instagram about it too. Keep killing it! For sure the best rotary content on RUclips right now can't wait to see you blow up
I've had fb's for over 20 years. I picked up a turbo II a few years ago, and it legit feels like I'm driving my older brothers car. I don't have an older brother if that makes any sense.
'87 TII, in family since new. Wife hates it, I can't part with it. LOL. S5 engine, 550's (recently serviced) x 1680's (new), Turbonetics hybrid turbo, FMIC. Self-tuning recent MicroSquirt install. EFR 7670 next. Watch out 5.0 GTs!! 😇
@@jo-qp7mz Newbie to tuning. TunerStudio's "Tune Analyse Live" is fantastic. Let it run while driving and the map cells are updated. May 1 day put it on a dyno to confirm the tune. Tuned from start to about 8 psi. Runs great. Shooting for 15 psi.
Nothing better than a nice fc. I’ve got an s4 na that’s had the engine out for a couple years now, need to put the time aside like so many others and put my engine back together to putt around again haha
Nice. Have had life happening so haven't watched the channel in awhile. Have been catching up on the RadX7 but since I graduated high school in 1987 I'm interested in FCs too.
I currently own a black FC vert roller that unfortunately is more than likely headed to the junkyard (New England winters aren’t nice to 34 year old cars.). Got a ‘04 Rx-8 too that is in serious need of some cosmetic repairs but is overall mechanically solid. Can’t wait to get another (less rusted) FC some day and hopefully swap a nice REW into it like this build will probably be. I LOVE the sound of a single turbo 13b. Might turbo the 8 some day too and run low low boost just to keep it reliable with those thinner seals but hopefully add some low down torque. Just figured I’d share my rotary journey in the comments.
To me it looks like late S4, '88 maybe. The body moulds are a big indicator, on an S5 they're smooth whereas the S4 moulds have a recessed line through the centre, late S4 were body colour (earlier S4 were all black) and all S5 moulds were body colour. The 4 small guages in the cluster on the S5 are round where the S4 guages are a sorta 1/4 circle shape if that makes sense.
@@RADPotential Totally, the MK3 series is my second fav Supra. Just after high school a good buddy bought a beautiful White 85' MK2, while I had a beautiful 84' T-top Fox GT, this was in 87'. Later on I've owned 3 FB Rx7's series 2,3. Then later still I owned a sweet black on black 92' FC Rx7, and now a totally clapped out 04' Rx8 that I'm building into a track day fun car.
That is EPIC!! I had an 86.5 Supra. White on red interior, hardtop, NA 5 speed, with a LSD and it was so much FUN!!! its a heavy chassis, which makes for a great cruiser drag machine
Glad to know im not the only one that drifts around my front yard biggest yard on the block 5 acres that I absolutely shredd with the rx neighbors haaaaate me 😂🎉
hey if you're up for a project there's a decent looking mk3 supra shell for pretty cheap. it's on marketplace, i think it was in either indiana or tennessee
@@RADPotential Im the owner of Midnight Auto. Man I have wondered what ever happened to that car! Always wanted to find it and buy it back lol. Let me know if you need any specs on what the motor stuff is. Seems it is all untouched under the hood!
Its for sure not been touched in a while. Fixing to change everything next week! Very nice build to have lasted this long!! its a bit rough around the edges but solid otherwise!!
Hate to be annoying but saw the power commander sitting on the passenger seat. I have one on my fc and im struggling to get it to start runs off starting fluid or will start on its own then die instantly The buttons on the commander light up but the screen doesn’t come on any just quick thoughts would be cool thanks
If it runs off starting fluid but does afterwards it’s more than likely a fuel supply issue. Start with the basics I.e fuel pump and work your way back.
If you want to get into FC's, start with an N/A coupe. The motors are incredibly simple and fairly easy to assemble. I would just look into what a rebuild kit costs and assume you're going to have to rebuild the motor once you buy the car. People absolutely dog on these cars, so fair warning. All of the rumors about reliability maintenance are overblown. I would just do your research and basically double whatever you want your budget to be. Buying an FC is normally the cheap/easy part lol. My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you don't let your car sit for long periods of time and let your car warm up for a minute or two before driving. I have a convertible S4 and the extra work involved in keeping everything working is only worth it if you really want the vert. The convertibles are very rigid, but weigh considerably more than their coupe counterparts. If you go with a convertible, I highly recommend swapping in a T2 motor, or finding one with the swap already complete. They're beautiful cars and deserve way more love than they get. Best of luck to you!
@@jakeneko More rigid? I thought it'd be the opposite and that the convertibles were basically worse in every regard. In any case I want one bad too but I'm not sure if I should buy a really trashed one for cheap and start from scratch or spend more on one that's basically got everything functional.
Sweeeet! Love all the content but im a simple guy. I see FC content and I hit the like button....So should all you scaliwags! RAD should be at easily in the six figures for subscribers. Anyways keep doing your thing fellow rotorhead
I love hearing a rotary turning over with no spark plugs. sounds just like an old school boiler train XD

id rather have an rx8
So glad to see some fc content, I’ve been trying to get mine running for the last few years and can’t wait for any tips and tricks. Love it
Hi from Perth Australia! Thanks man these videos have helped a tonne, I’ve just started a fc turbo two restoration and I’m loving it

The first car I ever paid for myself was a S4 FC GTU. It hasn't ran in 10 years and I still refuse to get rid of it.
Dude-bro, you drifting in the field, side-by-side with your doggeh is like this dream I had..!
“Somethings not happy at the rear”, proceeds to rip it to shreds 😂
I'm feeling the FC.

Rally car rally car rally car!
Mans done more off roading than Subaru owners.
That orange on the coilovers reminds me of Maxspeedingrods

FC peep here about to rebuild my first motor 😤😅
Nice I just rebuilt my first one a month ago I'm about to fire it up this week! You can do it just pay attention
If you could edit-in your neighbor coming out in a bathrobe… priceless 😂
Go rally fc !!
Puppo action at 5:15 ❤
Early series 5 like my red coupe and white vert both have cluster surround turn signals I think it was switched post 90 so 91 92 had column stocks

My first car was a 1988 Mazda RX-7 SE. It was NA and Auto. Wish I still had it. Would've done a motor swap and kept it on the road.
Mark III Supra, Yes. 944, yes. Fox body, yes. and FC Rx7 hatch, yes.

Grew up dreaming that my uncle would some day sell me his MK3. Never happened 😢
24:01 I want to see a rotary barn quilt!
I need an REW!!!! I am building a Shineauto Project catalogue FC in Wilmington, NC.

Looking forward to seeing the renewable lube engine as well!

Lol I have the exact same
Car with same motor set up and almost same condition 😂 where you located?
Ngl always thought fc are the best rally car body for rx7.
i want an FC so bad but i'm scared to own one not having any knowledge on rotary's and what not! but i'd love to take on the challenge

Nice video
S4 fc here. Trying to get mine running. Lol
As long as it gets the BN Sports body kit
GOSH MAN IF I COULD KISS YOU RN I WOULD
I wanna come and play at your house mum said it was ok.
I have a 90 vert!!!!!!!
nest is a fd
FC is the least good looking child in the Rx-7 family
Wtf? Um no fb is the ugliest for sure
FB has the best profile; however, It's a fact FD's beauty is unmatchable. FCs are just too boxy for me
Maybe the convertible, the FC coupe is a very close 2nd to the FD. as far as looks are concerned.
FD is the best looking, I think the 79 is a close 2nd, S5 FC 3rd, and then S4 and FB are in the same ball park for me.
