Yeah they would, because it's much easier and less costly to do it now than it was then, and you can do it in much greater detail. Doing only one shot of CGI back when this movie was made was like pulling teeth and throwing million dollar briefcases into the water expecting the briefcases to float to another nearby island. The CG technology was still pretty experimental back then and none of the guys at ILM really knew how long 47 shots would take to produce- this was the first film with effects being digitally inserted into shots- and they had less than 1% of the memory and hard drive space to do these shots than they do now. No one- not even ILM knew if these effects could even work they way they eventually did- and with this movie also being the first 9-figure budgeted movie ($102 million) not adjusting for inflation, to take such an enormous chance on using experimental technology like that with a character that was absolutely essential to the film's story is honestly insane- but they did it.
the early 90s were excellent for robert patrick. he was one of the cronies in die hard 2 and then became a household name in a film sequel that launched arnold's career seven years earlier. iconic, classic movie.

@@martinbaumgartner4878 The one frame flash is also present a bit later, when they are running towards the elevator, and the T-800 is shooting at the T-1000. It's also used in the first movie, when the Terminator kills Ginger in Sarah's apartment.
Especially practical effects. He basically squeeze out every potential juice out of it. The orange glow on the metal after the T800 arrived was just lighting. The opening battle used every trick in the book of practical effects to bring it to life. In True Lies, the truck flip was done with miniatures and they built a near 100 foot long miniature bridge. I think even the strafing Harrier is done with scale models.
Avatar may have had effects, but that story line has been a repeat of about 5 other films. I think artists are at their most creative when younger to be honest, a point that’s been repeated with countless examples.

If you are so depressed you are deemed a danger to yourself and others (depressed to the point of attempting suicide or hurting others multiple times) you can get sent to a facility for awhile. There was no armed guards or barbed wire fences like this though. Everyone talking about how insanely great the technology and special effects were especially for the time it was made really forgot it's a JAMES CAMERON FILM. He made Titanic in 1997 and it still is better than many films nowadays. The guy is a gem.
You can tell while the T-1000 lacks in emotion, it makes up for it with calculating coldness. It executes every single move and kill with precision while making backup plans in case things don't go accordingly. It immediately switched to the plan of imitating a security guard once the cops showed up, because he knew he could be potentially busted if they asked for identification (and since every single component of his body is metal, he likely doesn't have one on him).
I mean he has guns and stuff in his holsters somehow, see that’s the thing, would him not shapeshifting into the floor for example not leave a gun on the floor since he can’t imitate functional objects just like when it got caught on the railings? Bit of a hole there but technically he could have identification it’s just that he’s not supposed to be stationed there and he was not willing to take that risk.

@@martinbaumgartner4878 The one frame flash is also present a bit later, when they are running towards the elevator, and the T-800 is shooting at the T-1000. It's also used in the first movie, when the Terminator kills Ginger in Sarah's apartment.

You're right, never noticed it before.
Beat the shit out of him
Has anyone noticed that the majority of effects in James Cameron movies still hold up? This guy knows how to push the limits, for any time period.
Seeing terminator 6... Yikes
Whenever necessary, James Cameron has his team invent new software specifically for his films. This is true for T2
Visionary. I call it the Cameron Effect.
Avatar may have had effects, but that story line has been a repeat of about 5 other films.
I think artists are at their most creative when younger to be honest, a point that’s been repeated with countless examples.

that reflection you say is from the pepsi machine next to the coffee one. How the hell the coffee cup can be reflected in the T-1000 if Lewis is in between?
@@Nerivean in my defense i was really tierd and dident comprehend that...so im only partly retarded okay...
@@Nerivean At 1:32 we can see some red from the cup even though Lewis is between the camera and the cup. So light from that cup landing gets past Lewis.
@@yaynative At that time stamp yeah you can see the T-1000 enough to the side to assume that but at 1:43 you can clearly see that the reflection is just the pepsi machine and that the T-1000 is right behind Lewis so the reflection of the cup isn't posible. Also the coffee cup doesn't emit light that bright to be noticeable on the T-1000. But anyway that's my final stand on it. If thinking what you see is the coffee cup reflection on the T-1000 makes you happy then fine believe that. Cheers

I visited a friend with depression once in a mental hospital and the whole time I was there I couldn't stop thinking of this scene. I told my friend and she found it hilarious. Hey at least I made her laugh.
But people with depression aren't sent to mental hospitals.
@@toothlessthenightfury2088 It depends. If you are so depressed you are deemed a danger to yourself and others (depressed to the point of attempting suicide or hurting others multiple times) you can get sent to a facility for awhile. It happened to my sister. It was nowhere near like an extreme mental hospital prison, but it was basically a mental facility/hospital where you had to stay there until deemed mentally fit/safe enough to be released. There was no armed guards or barbed wire fences like this though. Just having "normal" depression or clinical depression where you aren't deemed a danger to yourself or others you don't get sent away to a facility though, of course, if that's what you meant. It just depends how extreme your actions are.
@@toothlessthenightfury2088 if they are suicidal they will be.
