Yea I wondered what he was doing haha. But why didn’t he just get his chip time and then just carry on running after the finish line if he wanted it to register as a full half marathon distance on his strava/garmin etc
Great to see you back - love your race day videos so much Will! The same day you're doing Manchester I'll be doing Newport and so will be wishing you well on your sub 3 and wish for both of us good weather!
@@TheWu Newport is very much like Yorkshire marathon tbh! Is very flat but about 20 miles of it are out in the countryside, with a city centre start and finish. I struggled today. I always aim for a sub 4 finish and did 4.03 but the last 10 miles I was really finding it hard. Not sure why as my pace for first 16 was great and effortless and was totally on pace and felt good. Was a bit disappointed I didn't do sub 4 but one of those days and fought well to pull it together to come in just 3 mins over. Being out in the sticks so much I think turns my brain to mush. Is a great event but you'll need a distraction!
Was great chatting to you at the end of the race (Michael - Kent AC vest). Great video and look forward to seeing you smash a great time in Manchester which I suspect will be well under 3 hours.
@@TheWu I was going to try and catch you before the race started but it was really crowded to get through, I also signed up to the Race for Life 10k in Sheffield on 11th June. There's 30% off joining untill end of April, so maybe another run for you to do.
Well done Will! Exceeded your expectations again! I'm pulling out of Manchester otherwise would have tried to meet you, but I wish you good luck this weekend. I'm sure you'll surprise yourself :)
Great to meet you at the start. I guessed 1.33 or 1.32 but I did a 1.30. Sub 90 next. See my cheeky photo bomb on 9.35!!! Just as you set off see the guy in the green barging runners out of the way, it was the same in the 1.30 pacer group, runners were acting like rude idiots.
Yea I checked your results, smashed it mate. Yep saw the guy in green haha he was a in rush, always have to remember to hold the camera tight at the start of races.
Great time! 👍🏻 I know you not 100% confident on the sub 3 for Manchester, but I think you've got a chance. Hopefully the legs will start to feel fresh over the next couple of days. Good luck for Sunday! 🎉🚀
Nice to meet you at the start Will. Saw you smashed it on the day so should put you in a good place for Manchester. I managed to beat my old PB by 10 mins and get 1:35:27, so your pep talk before the race helped!
That was paced well. It will ve interesting to see how things pan out on Sunday. We also spent yesterday watching your Manchester Marathon Vlog in preparation for Sunday. It seems that supporters/family can see you straight after the finish. Is that right?
Thanks, yea be interesting for me to see how far I am off the target sub 3 hopefully I’m not too far off. As far as I remember I walked for a little while until my wife saw me then finally the fences opened to allow us to meet.
Hi Wu , Just subscribed to your channel. You came so close to sub 3 in Manchester and I’m sure this will make you even more focused on the goal . We are on the same quest , I’ve been trying for sub 3 for a few years now and nearly achieved it in Tokyo, failing by 58 seconds. I’m sure , like me you learnt so much from your last try . We will get there 👍🏃♀️
Thanks I appreciate the support. Yes this sub 3 thing is a tough cookie to crack! Where will be your next marathon? I’m going to try at Amsterdam in October.
@@TheWu Good luck in Amsterdam Wu . My next attempt is also in October, the Perth Marathon in Australia, I’ll be following your progress and I’ll also add you on Strava 👍🏃♀️
Nice to meet you! Great video keep up the good work
Yea man nice to see you in the flesh haha. Thanks !

That's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while, nice spot!
That is such a great spot! So funny - at one point I thought he was going to stretch his arms out and pretend to be an aeroplane. 😂

Hi, yea good meeting you. Haha thanks I wish I had your confidence, truth is I'm not fit enough yet but I'll try close to 3hrs as possible.
Great run! I completed the Sheffield half in March this year too, I think I remember seeing you.
Thanks, I'm sure we will run again at the same event, say hi next time!

Ah, i think 11th of June is a bit too soon after the Derby Half on the 4th. My wife wants to do it though. I will be there watching!

Thanks mate, yea it’s more I know the training has been very inconsistent and haven’t had enough long runs in but I’ll do my best.
