Great job, Will. Done the Sheffield HM a few times on a different course. A shame there isn't a marathon any more. I did my first sub 3 there in 2002. Nice to see Richard S. Know him well. Used to be in the same club and relay / track teams in the Holmfirth Harriers days. Lovely chap. Good to have a personal bag drop. Organisation looked a bit chaotic at the start but if you treat it like a chilled out training one it looks like a good event
Thanks, awesome sub 3 in Sheffield, that course must have been brutal for a full marathon. Richard is a legend, nice guy. Yep I'm not sure but people said they messed up with the baggage tents, not sure exactly but last year went smoothly.
Fantastic. I did this race about 5-6 years ago, that hill!!! I'd love to return and do it and see what I can do now. I use to really enjoy the Sheffield 10k too. Fab video as always 😊
That's a great time for a training run, not too far off sub 3 pace for the whole half! I raced this hard and it smashed my quads to bits on the downhills. PB'd and not got any races for a little while though, so it was worth it. Good luck for Manchester!
@@TheWu Might have to make do with that PB for now. My next half is The Dronfield Big Dipper 😂😬 Going to try for a 5K PB over the next few months though 🤞🏻
Anyone who shows BDTBL on a Vlog gets a like from me. The bag drop was chaos, it was quicker to run back to my car and leave the bag there. Really didn't need a 2 mile round trip sprint just before the race start. Ended up running with my car keys rammed down my undercrackers.
I am aiming for a sub 1 hr 30. Running it in 3 weeks at this race, from my training i am capable of a sub 1 hr 28 half maybe sub 1 hr 27 or a little better as i did have energy after it and wasn't fresh on the training run, lets just go with sub 1 hr 28 but I am wondering if sub 1 hr 30 would be too much for me on Sheffields hills? I've been told ill make up for slower miles later on when going downhill but i am feeling super anxious haha.
It’s a fairly hard course. Some really fast runners can pace themselves really well during the first part and make up alot of time, but it not a easy thing to do, requires a lot of experience pacing correctly with the effort. Just don’t go too hard in the first part and then you can start increasing the pace gradually half way into it on the down. But yea this course is not the best to PB on but the event is really good with a great crowd so enjoy it!
@@TheWu Thank you I think I will play it somewhat safe instead of taking a big risk and having to stop. I'll save the risk run for my cities half as won't be all that bad if I mess up not having to travel for it 😂😂 good luck out there if you're doing it again 💪
Great Video and great time. Yes us in the car and Kunal was injured but he was dropping me off!
Nice, did you race it or just run it for training?
Wow great split times! 👍🏻👏🏼
Thanks, the downs can really make the course quite a fast one if pacing is correct at the start.
Good luck for Manchester, think you'll be around the time I'm going for
Nice, I’ll be aiming for around 3hrs or little over.
Brilliant coverage. Roll on Manchester next week
Thanks Matt

Thanks Dannii, it's got bigger for sure, the people of Sheffield seem to always come out for this event.
Looking easy on them hills
Have to go fairly slow specially when talking to the camera haha
@@TheWuI find that whole section to be a slog even if I'm jogging up it to be honest 🤣Congratulations on your marathon, a fantastic result

PB on Sheffield is a great effort. PB for sure on a faster course for you soon!

Oh the big dipper, that scares me!
@@TheWu I feel the same about 26.2 miles 😂
Race looks unorganised. Shame didn't see you at London Landmarks but hopefully see you in Manchester one week 🙏
Good luck in Manchester!

Erm, did your brother have a heart attack?!
210HR is mad isn't it!
