According to a few other forums who have loaded up the Ford Manual page, it lists the torque at 10 LBS or 14 Newton something (metric). Thanks for the video!
Quick question: I just bought a 99 ranger real cheap with 2.5 and 4r44e and it doesn't wanna shift out of first till I either let off the gas or shift it manually into 2nd then as long as I don't give it too much gas it will shift through the rest of the gears. If I throttle up to much it'll shift back into 1st. The fluid is slightly over full but I don't see any other issues. Possibly a shift solenoid?
@@EMaF_DIY My 98 Ranger 2.5L RWD gives a light jolt / bump during upshift from 1-2 and 2-3. I am hoping only the bands need to be adjusted. Could it possibly be bad solenoids / valve body ? Vehicle has 94K miles now
Most cars can be jacked up and get to the band adjusters on the side. These Ford Rangers fit that category. It's the same process of loosening the nuts and torque the adjuster. Once torqued I'd make a mark on the adjuster to be able to count the back turns(silver sharpie usually works well). Then tighten the nut same as in video. If you run out of threads on the adjuster, the band may be worn too far and need a rebuild anyways so be sure to not adjust beyond threads for nut.

I go 10 lbs torque and then back off 2 complete turns
Clearly the best

@EMaF_DIY - Can I do the adjustment without removing the transmission?
Yes it can be done in the truck.
@@EMaF_DIY Thanks for confirming
