- Join me on a trip to Moscow! My first time exploring the capital city of Russia.
Today we begin a 4-day trip to Moscow. Over the next few days, I will be showing you some of the most iconic sights in the city. We start this video with a Sapsan high-speed train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. The ride is only about 4 hours long, but you can also take the overnight train which is 8 to 9 hours long. We arrive in Moscow and check into our hotel and then explore the modern financial district, with its new skyscrapers and malls.
After exploring the modern part of the city, we head back to the old center and explore the Red Square. There, we stop by the GUM mall and Saint Basil’s Cathedral. We take a long walk around the entire Kremlin walls and end the day exhausted.

I lived in both US and Russia and I realized what is the main difference. US is a great country - but its just a country, its very fragmented and disintegrated in terms of many different cultures and groups who live there, but have no connections to each other or to even the country itself. Russia on the other hands its not just a country - its a Civilization, ,where people are deeply connected to the country itself and bounded by centuries of culture and traditions.

I have Russian heritage. Even though I HATE the politics there, I LOVE the culture. I hope to visit one day and get a tour of the Kremlin.

I also have Russia and Ukrainian heritage, I visited russia twice in the last 7 years and my opinion had changed completely. Russia is nothing like they ry to represent it on TV. My advice visit it and stay there for couple month to understand the country and people.

Etruscan civilization, where do you think they came from?
Their language was considered unreadable and untranslatable for many centuries, until the Old Russian runic languages were taken as the basis for translation.
Unfortunately, this civilization was destroyed by the Roman Empire and they adopted all the knowledge from construction to housekeeping from the Etruscan civilization.
Ps. Of course, the modern world does not agree with this, because it is easier to declare the Etruscan language unreadable than to openly accept the fact that it is easily deciphered by Old Russian languages.

Sorry I didn't see Russia in this video, just Moscow:) Moscow is beautiful, but it doesn't represent the whole Russia itself. Go 60 - 100 km away from Moscow, visit other towns and cities (St. Petersburg doesn't count) and then write comments :)
I was there in October of 2018. Moscow is absolutely beautiful at night. I highly recommend taking a cruise on the Moskva river!

I never been in Moscow, but while I traveled from Lithuania to Karelia near Murmansk oblast, i spend time in one of the Sankt Petersburg stations. It was ~1988 before collapse of the USSR... . I have been living here for almost 6/7 months every year(well,before the lockdown,since then i came only a couple times and i am now right here). First time i came,2008,Moscow was still living a "big deal"with money,business,parties and at the same time you could still see homeless all around,cars parked everywhere, crazy drivers,etc. Year after year i have seen so many changes and i can assure that this is the most shining capital,with best services,very clean and safe compared with many others i have visited and lived too. My second home!

We did a night tour of Moscow that was top notch. I hope to get back when the insanity is over. I think your parents must be extremely proud of you. Being a moscovite, I would strongly suggest to visit all the largest parks in Moscow..they are not just some little european parks, but more like deep forests with amazing views on Moscow river and not only. There r about 7 of such parks in Moscow only. Something what I always miss in Europe.

@@xAzoNx At the end of WW2 USA gave huge amounts of money to many countries to rebuild the damage, it was called the Marshall Plan. USA offered the same to Russia and Eastern European countries but Stalin said No and would not allow countries such as Poland etc that he controlled to take the money either. The west wanted friendship but Stalin did not, it was very sad. That was when the situation began to go wrong.

There, in a modern, multi-media space, 4 years of the Great Patriotic War are described and you can find every established person who took part in it., you can find your relatives and realize your involvement in the great feat of the people of Russia.
That sounds super interesting Edward, I will have to add it to the list of places to visit next time I come to Moscow!

Visiting this place will help you realize the scale of the catastrophe of the Great Patriotic War and feel an incredible emotion of pride for belonging to the people who saved the planet from the absolute evil - fascism. Very strong emotions when millions of people look at you and among them you can simply enter data about any of your relatives and read information about where he fought, what he was awarded for, how many wounds or maybe he died in the first days or months of the war. After visiting this museum and Russia as a country, its internal logic can be understood, only Russia has such experience.

I will visit Russia for sure in my lifetime. Born in W.Germany living in Canada for most of my life but I'm Serbian and we refer to that country as Majka Rusija. It's in our genes.
I'm crying because it's so great. Although I live in the south of Russia, but I love this city. It's nice to see people from other countries visiting our country, taking pictures and saying nice words. At such moments, you think that all is not lost yet and the world may change for the better.

Wow! I visited Moscow only once as a kid, decades back, with a school trip from Ukraine. I was stunned how different it was, that I almost did not expect it to look so modern. Minor correction: St Basil Cathedral was not dedicated to St Basil, it is first and foremost a church dedicated to Intercession of Mary feast. St Basil was a saint who lived near that church and later a chapel with his tomb was added to the cathedral complex. From then on it got to be known mostly by that name. Was also known as the Trinity church troughout - as it was build in place of a Trinity church, and featured a chapel to Holy Trinity as well.

Immersive the video particularly also is inasmuch as there are selected perspectives which allow you to discover incursions from bygone eras. You experience the Soviet Union without a certain common sort of overemphasized critique. You experience a surprising _amalgamation_ of the Soviet Union and of _Russia,_ per se, thanks to the manner in which those uniformed guards are shown. You experience a continuation of the 1980s when there, out of nowhere, suddenly is walking a gaily-green-haired maiden, in front of you. And you even can enjoy a retrospective on the history of the Red Square which is (as you are pointing out) really clear, and also clearly is free of a certain frumpiness at least I regularly perceive in such reports about old Russia.
The Red Square alone is shown much more magnificently than I have ever seen it being done (and I have seen this being done quite a number of times, by now). Mr. Posada, obviously, does not simply turn his camera around when he is in a mood to do so but goes to the bother of cleverly choosing a vantage point.
The camerawork looks like being instinctively carried out most artistically, with just a few simple, sovereignly applied stratagems. As far as the enhancing music is concerned, I'm flabbergasted by the degree to which it really fits and leads you into unknown domains.
Such work uses to emerge not just immediately in the head of the creator but largely, as it would seem, on its own, with the people you see and even the weather perhaps in some way telepathically driven into a participation, by the artist. Just notice that arch of blue sky over the Kremlin towers, at 18:08!
All of these good aspects are coming along without much ado, without a pretension of delivering something especially noble or chic. You even are clearly told how much the tickets cost, are shown how the metro is to be entered. Hence, for certain, a character of the clip which convinces you that you are participating in Moscow's life, rather than only watching a number of expensively-produced images for a catalog on some sort of a zoo.

I was just there in Moscow (3rd time) in September. I have seen all the places that you showed in the video, sure brings back the great memories of these trips. Especially the St. Basil's portion and the walk down Ul. Nikolskaya. We ate at Laudree' one afternoon as well as Tera Bulba and many other places, but Dr Zhivago's(classic Russian, Soviet Union glamor interior), Laudree'(French famous for macaroons) and Teras Bulba(Ukrainian) are my favorites so far! Also visited the Armory Chamber inside the Kremlin, takes almost all day to see it all. Surely worth the effort and time.

Your photography is exceptional not just the beauty in what you depict but the smoothness, tempo and perspective. I think you missed ( _failed_ would be too strong a word) appreciating the architecture of the "Seven Sisters" which are imposing marvels. Although they differ from today's glass and steel skyscrapers, they have a clearly more timeless magnificence. Indeed, even in New York City it is the Empire State Building, Chrysler and Woolworth buildings-- all of an earlier vintage, that still reign as the most impressive in that city. Manhattan's Municipal building is very similar to the Seven Sisters.

I want to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg again but I’d also like to go inland to Omsk, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny-Novgorod or Novosibirsk and Kamchatka and other areas of the Far East. The tours basically only go to Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I found it to be fascinating and Moscow is huge but I found Peter to be more interesting and seems to reflect the Russian soul more. Despite being a big city, it has a more village manageability and charm to it.
Wow, you're going to have a great tour of Russia one day, I wish I could visit all those places, maybe next summer
St.Pete cannot reflect the Russian soul more as it's much more modern and European, it's only 300 years old. While in Moscow you can find 15th-16th century churches and monasteries. And to look into the real soul of Russia you should take a tour of the Golden Ring cities & towns.
Veliky Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod are beautiful, but Veliky Novgorod is older than Nizhny Novgorod

One thing I know for sure, St Petersburg maybe more cozy, more European than Moscow, but Moscow metro is the best in the world, and it makes St Petersburg metro look like a joke. Very efficient, extremely reliable, nice atmosphere and beautiful architecture with stations like Maykovskaya, Komsomolskaya and many many others. And also, although quite surprisingly, Moscow is cleaner than Saint Petersburg.
Thats true! St Petersburg metro has to grow faster to keep up with the growing suburbs, a lot of my friends have been waiting on metro stations that were promised decades ago

@@websperedoz466 partly true, Moscow budget is far larger than any other Russian city, but you're also wrong, there are cities like Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok are all faster growing than even Moscow, especially Krasnodar which is by far the fastest growing city in Russia, I was involved in a high profile project in Krasnodar right before COVID and let me tell you they have huge plans for the city and are very passionate about its future. I do believe there is a high chance of it becoming as big as St Petersburg in a few decades.

I am a Muscovite, I love St. Petersburg very much, but we must understand that these are completely different cities in spirit, scale, pace of life, history. Moscow is the heart of Russia, and St. Petersburg is a mirror for Europe. Moscow is huge, diverse in every district, has a huge history of construction alterations, fires, seizures by enemies. This is our chronicle... And in Moscow you can walk a lot on foot, it's just that there are a lot of different interesting places that are far from each other. You can find your own history in different districts (usually districts are named after the old village that was in its place, or the estate of some landowner or by the name of a landmark).

There are at least two reasons why it cannot be said that Russia is only a European country, because 75% of the territory beyond the Urals is located in Asia, but only about 23% of the population. Sure you can't say also that Russia is an Asian country. It would be more correct to say that Russia is a Eurasian country. And the second one reason is that Russia does not agree with the postmodern ideology of that part of Europe called European Union, with their excessive liberalism, migrants, lgbt, etc.
What is this dispute about? Geography and mentality are different things. Any resident of Russia knows that part of the country is located in Europe, and part in Asia.
At the same time, we do not consider ourselves 100% neither Europeans nor Asians. And that's FINE.
We have our own mentality, our own complex spirit, we absorbed, like a sponge, different cultures from different peoples, leaving something inside, letting something go, and giving something away.
Where else in Europe is there a country on the territory of which 180 local ethnic groups were formed and remained to live?

as a resident of Russia, I feel warm at heart from the words of foreigners about the beauty of my country. it's true. I really want all the madness in the world to end and the inhabitants of the whole world could travel in peace. I would like to visit America myself, I admire this country as much as my own. Despite the fact that the leaders of our countries are rivals, I do not consider ordinary US residents to be enemies. On the contrary, they are the same people as us. they are our brothers. Personally, I am very hospitable to other nations and would be happy to show them all the beauties of our capital.
