    Where exactly do you build your systems (apart from TTP?) and have the SOPs for your manager to look at?

    • @DougtheDogGuy
      @DougtheDogGuy  2 года назад

      We have our SOPs for our team on Slack, and my manager and I also share a Google Drive folder where we can both go in and make updates as needed.

    Truly don't think I would be this far along in my journey to becoming a pet sitter full-time if I didn't have your channel. Thank you so much for all the info. My husband and I are still in the process of getting things together to launch our business it is an exciting time but man is it a lot! 😄

    Could you do a walk through how you made your guide for your on boarding application on your computer . I know your busy but it's help so much
    Right now I use joy form but many people won't do it and or they have to add stuff in again once I accepted them to (pet sitter dashboard my schedule software)

      I can do a video on this, thanks for the suggestion! I use Wufoo for the client intake form on our website and our manager puts all info from that form on their Time to Pet profile when she makes that. And then they have to complete the rest of their profile before we will schedule a meet & greet. I also have the intake form hooked to a spreadsheet via Zapier

    Hey, I'm brand new to your channel and the dog walker's business life! Im so impressed by how organised you are! Well done! I also found your vlog very useful and encouraging. I must admit that I'm a little nervous, so many things to consider starting out as a sole proprietor!
    Yes I'm interested in purchasing your business system models! However I'm in the U.K England, so do they transfer?
    Please could you talk next time about financial aspects? Like do you charge up front? What if client is slow to pay the fees?
    Do you give multiple dog from one owner discounts?
    What should I do if I want sick leave?
    Different subjects please cover touchy subjects:
    Business poaching + Competing walkers;
    Difficult clients,
    Dog fights, how to break them up safely .
    Handling Accidents, such as dog injury or running away.
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏 😊

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting, and congratulations on your new business!
      - If you are in the UK I would suggest getting in contact with Dom Hodgson: www.petbusinessmarketing.com/
      - I always highly advise prepayment. The service should not be considered confirmed until payment has been made. Have your exact payment policies in your Terms of Service and make no exceptions. Clients that respect and value you will uphold your terms. If they aren't willing to agree to your terms, they aren't worth being your client.
      - Never discount your time and services.
      - If you need time off, just schedule it and either hire someone to cover your clients those days or simply tell your clients you won't be available and give them a reputable referral.
      - Don't worry about poaching/competition. There are more pets and families in need of care than there will ever be dog walkers. Just focus on providing the best service possible and working with your ideal clients. Clients that leave can and will always be replaced.
      - As far as dog fights and other accidents, there are a lot of videos here on RUclips focusing on dog behavior, and I would highly recommend getting in contact with a local dog trainer for advice and training.
      I hope this helps you! Best of luck and sending your pawsitivity!

    What makes someone not a good dog walker/ walking employee?

    • @DougtheDogGuy
      @DougtheDogGuy  2 года назад +1

      That is an endless list lol. Write out the exact criteria you are looking for and then create a funnel that will attract those applicants and weed out the rest. "Knock out" questions are a great way to see who is worth speaking to and who isn't. (Situational and if/then questions). Send me and email and I'd be happy to schedule a call with you to discuss this further: badtothebonepetcare.com/forpetsitters/
