    Hi Doug! I’ve been pet sitting part-time since 2009. Just quit my job to go full-time- so excited. I am your #1 fan. Your advice is invaluable - what a wealth of information. Everything I learned I learned through trial and error. What a blessing this info would have been starting out. Thanks for the amazing content! I totally agree with cameras- I love them. It shows what a great job one is doing. Would love to meet you one day. I’m in Pawleys Island, SC. If you’re ever headed my way, would love to meet you and buy you a meal. Sherry, The Happy Pet Sitter LLC. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I personally feel uncomfortable having cameras in the home as I don't like the feeling that I could be watched at any moment when I'm in my PJs watching TV or napping on the couch haha. I don't mind cameras on the outside of the home, but for overnight sits I have in my contract that no internal cameras are allowed. The houses I petsit are my temporary home, so at the end of the day I like to be able to relax as if I'm not on the job especially after a long day of dog walks and house visits. Just my preference though!

      I second this. Not doing anything wrong, but hate the feeling of being watched in my personal alone time.

      I’ve had some weird experiences with owners who have cameras indoors - even those who have cameras outdoors and think they can dictate when you come and go. I think young women can also feel a bit funny knowing that the man of the house has the ability to tune into them at any time.

      @@mihaeladogsittingandpetcarwn7 Why would you NOT feel uncomfortable being surveilled openly? Even as a man I think it's weird, if you're a girl the chances of people using contract apps like this as a way to stalk girls by getting their contact info if their profile picture is cute, getting them in their home and creeping on them is definitely above zero.

      We have a clause in our contract that says the client must inform us of any and all security systems, but a lot of clients "forget" to mention cameras to us so we specifically ask about them in the meet & greet.

    I care for a dog who had puppies.
    All of which are eventually being sold.
    Until then I don't know if I should charge more.
    Honestly they are so cute I don't the extra work and responsibility.
    Any thoughts in this?

    Do you need clients to sign photo release forms to post their pets on your business social media?

    • @DougtheDogGuy
      @DougtheDogGuy  11 месяцев назад +1

      You will want to get permission to use photos of their pets. You don't need to have a whole form for this, you can just add it to your terms of service. We have a clause in our contract that says: Client authorizes the use of pet(s) pictures on Bad to the Bone’s website, social media and/or marketing materials for promotional purposes.

    how do i transfer my Rover clients to my new business?

    • @DougtheDogGuy
      @DougtheDogGuy  11 месяцев назад +1

      That's a great question! Technically speaking, the clients belong to Rover and Rover is just contracting you to provide the service. They have a non-solicit policy in their terms of service, which means if you are caught trying to take their clients you will be kicked off the platform and there could possibly be legal repercussions. This is one of the biggest reasons I never suggest using platforms like Rover and Wag and always recommend starting your own business and getting your own clients. That being said, if I were you I would text my clients outside of the app and tell them I am starting my own business and to book me directly from now on. And I would assume that I would be kicked off of Rover and be ready to handle any repercussions that came my way.
