  • Dr. Annabeth Headrick's work focuses on archaeological cultures, but she incorporates traditions and beliefs of living indigenous peoples as a way to understand the past. This talk brings to life objects in the exhibition Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection by explaining the various costume elements and their meanings. In addition, the lecture illuminates how costume was a critical part of statecraft, war, and worship.
This program is presented in partnership with the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at Vanderbilt University.

Could the "goggles" and bug eyes just be a representation of how drowned sacrificial victims may have looked? The eyes bulge from the sockets after the body is submerged for a few hours in water. That seems probable

Yeah maybe. If we center everything around sacrifices it all makes sense. Oh yeah thats what American archeologists are always aiming for. This is why they will always be ignorant of history

They sacrifice themselves to represent the same sacrifice that the gods made themselves to become the Sun and a lot of those people that were sacrificed weren't forced to some were captured by War but a lot of them are just brave honorable people that loved the Earth and the Aztec people believe that death was a companion to life

The claim that the Maya where at their highest development from 250 AD to 900 AD is ridiculous. I really can’t understand that any person that calls himself a scientist supports this theory.
The history of the indigenous peoples in the Americas is much, much older than a few thousand years. The Hopi people, now living in Arizona, USA, claim that they are at least 30,000 years old and that they are
    the ancestors of the Maya.
To learn much more about the cycle of civilizations, that is caused by a recurring natural disaster, read the e-book: "Planet 9 = Nibiru. Just search for: invisible nibiru.

Himself is a her. Why would you say this time line is ridiculous? We do not have evidence supporting a older civilization. Not yet anyway. The oldest projectile points in north America are dated to 15,000 years old. The artifacts dated at Mayan sites are similar in age. It was only 500 years ago when the Spanish conquistadors were fighting the Aztecs in Mexico and the Incas in South America. We may find evidence of an older time line in the future but someone's claim is not sufficient evidence..

@@chrisquinn394, By reading my ebook, you will understand how the cycle of seven disasters occurs that causes civilizations to disappear. In less than 4 hours you will learn more than in any day before in your live.
Scientists know a lot about a little. Therefore they don't see the big picture of our past. Without knowing this cycle, history is incomprehensible. The timeline that I present has a clear date that is confirmed by several scientific investigations from different countries.
