Napier is just a really beautiful lil town with lots of cool stuff surrounding the area too. Yen n i were super impressed will definitely be going back sometime soon maybe this summer 🤔🙂
The lamb and fish entrees you ordered at the winery look amazing! Too bad we arrived too late at this winery for lunch! We were able to order a butter with bread plate that was very tasty! Two of the three butters that were served were the best we’ve tasted! I can’t wait to watch your next Napier Vlog!

Hello Sirena 👋 had an amazing time thank you for dropping by and leaving a comment. 🤞 coming back again in summer so we can see all the gannets at cape kidnappers too 🕊😁
Lovely little waterfall. Waifonga. I've got to remember that name when I come to New Zealand. Kiwi Muscles. Haha is that your name for it? That old building 'Criterion Hotel' has a very 1930's architecture style. Love it! Reminds me of old Hollywood.
Hahaha kiwi muscles mate thats the shellfish 😂 napier is a cool lil town so much 30s architecture everywhere gives a different vibe to anywhere else in New Zealand 👍
The vineyard was an excellent way to wrap up this first video 😁🤤 luckily there has been a lot of domestic travel to at least ease the void a little from all the lost overseas travel.
You guys got a good Airbnb deal. I understand Yen perfectly. Sometimes you just need to sleep. Beautiful winery and dishes. Put one down, Peter. We all need Lieles and Maria to help us describe wines. Haha
Thank you Maria 💞😁 given I only had like 3 hours sleep the night before and then a full on day of vlogging and road tripping, I needed that sleep in or would've been like a total munter 😅 hahaha yea Peter def needed help in the wine description department lol.. hints of grapes 🤦🍇🍷😅
WOW! have not seen an old parking meter like that in a lil while. Love Napier, and the wineries are so much fun! Definately one of my fave things to do when visiting the Hawkes Bay. oh dam that lamb shank looked delish! New Zealand wines in my view is the BEST! Even when I visit Australia, I try to find NZ made wines.
Ikr! At first we were (naively) like.. are they real ones? 😅 Def added to the art deco vibe of the city though! It's awesome that NZ is tops for so many things food and drinks-wise ay! Wines, coffee, dairy, fish, beef, lamb! And then all the other awesomeness too from this country so far from the rest of the world ❤️🙂
Super cool job! gutted you didn't go to the Bluff Hill lookout! You will have to do that next time! It's a narrow road up but worth it for a great view across the ocean and city!
@@PeterandYen Yeah no worries at all! So glad I found your channel and your videos are extremely well done! I will watch a few more now before going to bed! There's are also a number of waterfalls just outside Napier. You visited Waipunga Falls which is super awesome, shame it's not well sign-posted as it's a stunning view and perfect spot for a break if driving from Taupo! But yeah, have a look around at the Bluff Hill lookout just above the port, Cape Kidnappers gannets and other waterfalls around Napier! :)
@@PeterandYen Sure a pleasure, I seriously love your content! Speaking of Napier, there was a recent NZ Herald poll/survey on Best Park, Best Beach track etc, and Napier's Anderson Park was voted Best park in NZ, it's an amazing park which caters for all age groups in massive spaces; definitely film some clips there too next time!
Love all of the Art Deco buildings in Napier! Looks so quaint! I’m still yet to visit there. Cute gifts 🎁. Your Airbnb’s are priced quite decent for nz. Wow beautiful winery, I didn’t know that was the oldest one in NZ. The food there looks such good quality! 😋 Haha loving the wine descriptions! 😂 Looking forward to seeing more of Napier! 😊
It's a neat place and Hawke's Bay was lovely. Next vlog gets even better we reckon 😃👍🏼 I always enjoy buying gifts so a shop like that I could've spent ages in hahah. You'll have to visit next time you're back home Lana 💕 Yea the airbnbs have been pretty decent prices ay (for NZ) 😂 Food was great! Peter's wine descriptions not so much 🤣🤣 Still, much better than me though... I can't even drink anything to begin with lol 🤣🤣
Peter and Yen Haha yes sounds like I do need to visit. Looking forward to the next one then! Do you find NZ has been more affordable for tourism since the borders are closed, etc?
Hmm 🤔 I think activities-wise yes definitely. We've come across like a couple "out of lockdown" kinda specials but accommodation is still about the same and domestic flights haven't gotten any cheaper yet unfortunately. Hope we'll be able to get a few specials though coz we wanna go South Island soon 😁
I have been watching your videos for a while now. Been in NZ for almost 11 months now! Tried the Malaysian place while I was in Napier last week and it was amazing! Also the MTG was a great place to visit! Thanks for the recommendations!
@@Andy_M986 yes in Spain we have the same motto, small towns and especially in the south our working schedules are usually 9-1:30pm and then we take a break and have lunch with the family and some people have a siesta and then we work again from 5-8:30pm or to 9pm. But our lifestyle schedules are very different. We have breakfast at 8, lunch at 2-3pm and dinner between 9-11pm Then most things are closed in August because it's when most people take vacation, but this has been changing in the last ten years. Love places that encourage quality of life. Hope to go to NZ one day

My Home town, Bummer you missed getting to the Market day , lots of colour to shoot and great people watching vib, not to mention all the yummy food. Kris
bahahah sleep talking! Poor Yen! Loving the drone shots in your vids. NZ is so picturesque. We still have those coin parking meter but man we have to pay like $10 in coins, or u can pay with your mobile app haha. interesting kiwi mee goreng. The town really has nice old school charm. I like what they did there. Bathroom is huge at the airbnb! haha all peter's fault from the night before =P Awesome vineyard, same in Melb they have some of the best food. Food looks great! hahaha peter you're an alcoholic downing the wine so fast!
😅 that's like Auckland city too. Parked in town for 1 hour today it cost $8 😂 pahahaha those alcohol clips are all sped up cause it was soo slow but I wanted to show I finished it all 😁 napier is awesome though will definitely go back sometime soon
That's a nice comfy Airb&b, love the kitchen! Winery, classy!! Ah no alcohol for Yen eh, seems like ginger beer is the most she can get :P Mmmmh red wine sauce with that cutlet..... yums!! I would go for the fish that Yen orders! You guys are teasing us, at a winery but don't drink!! 😆 Wine is so cheap there!! Jelly!!
Yeah you can get ok quality wine for around $10 or 20 ringit here in New Zealand. Quite a lot cheaper than Malaysia for that area but we would happily trade that for cheap wan tan mee anyday 😂
Thanks Daryl 😁👍 once in a while I'll have a drink but usually it's to celebrate something but on the regular yen n I are generally alcohol free 😊 n yup still manage to have a great time
Napier looks beautiful.. Who ever owns that BNB is very considerate to their guests. There were more goodies in there than I had.. ok never mind haha 😂 No alcohol story and what Yen said, made me laugh. Peter 😍 that shank was such a tease 🤤 with red wine sauce too yummy and that fish dish you had Yen, look so so nice. 3am watching is not a good idea cos I’m hungry now 😋👍🏼 Thank you guys.. Cheers 🥂❤️❤️

Total meal $93 😮 Wow that’s expensive meals you guys had in the winery, looks like a semi fine dining I think. Lol at Peter is trying to describe the wine 😂 that’s pretty much us too, only know around those words - dry, fruity... 😂
It's relatively standard for winery food here in NZ though I'd say.. breads, 2 mains and a drink! It does hurt sometimes when you convert it to the amount of meals you can get in Asia tho hahahah 😂 Yeaaa... we definitely are not wine connoisseurs by any stretch of the imagination lol 😂😂
Pants Peter? Pants?? 😁😁 Not gunna lie... anticipation for the food part always gets me.. and Malaysian food (with an NZ twist) did not disappoint. What a beautiful country and awesome road trip so far! Can’t wait until next Sunday:)

Hahaha such an awesome comment 😆💕 thank you! I appreciate it 😁👍❤️☺️
Totally agree, that's the best 😆👍👍
Like the sound of that waterfall!
Water makes such relaxing sounds 😌
Food at the vineyard looks amazing~~~ Also, the thought of NZ without tourists sounds so scary ):
The vineyard was an excellent way to wrap up this first video 😁🤤 luckily there has been a lot of domestic travel to at least ease the void a little from all the lost overseas travel.
The food at the winery looks amazing! That lamb shank was so tender and I love how their fancy version of mac and cheese 😋
Wineries often have such great food 😁 that lamb shank was 👌👍
So peaceful n relax looking town....food looks good too...love it
You'll really like it there mum go n visit sometime 🙂
And then all the other awesomeness too from this country so far from the rest of the world ❤️🙂
Always wanted to go to Napier for a weekend getaway. Thanks for the free tour. Loving the art deco buildings 😍
Hahaha you guys should totally make the trip it's such a cool town. This weekends's episode shows some amazing scenery too.
Super cool job! gutted you didn't go to the Bluff Hill lookout! You will have to do that next time! It's a narrow road up but worth it for a great view across the ocean and city!
Thanks for the recommendation, will add that to the list for next time we're in napier 😁🤙
Nice! Thanks for all the recommendations 🤙
It's too bad you missed that farmers market, the Hastings one is amazing, so many delicious local goods
Yeah! We'll be back in summer hopefully and can go to the farmers market then 😁✌
Love all of the Art Deco buildings in Napier!
Peter and Yen Ah at least there’s a few I guess. Oh cool! The South Island would be great! Heaps to explore down there too 😄
I have been watching your videos for a while now. Been in NZ for almost 11 months now! Tried the Malaysian place while I was in Napier last week and it was amazing! Also the MTG was a great place to visit! Thanks for the recommendations!
That's awesome to hear Daniel 🙂👋 Glad our video came in handy for you! Hope you enjoy more and more of NZ, there's plenty to see and do 😁👍
Excellent video, well shot, nice use of drone camera, extremely good location, love watching it again n again
Thank you Samrat 😁👍 we do try and make these videos as good as possible so appreciate the feedback
Love watching your videos guys... Keep it up!
Thank you for dropping by and leaving a comment appreciate the support 😁✌ have an awesome week
Leg of Lamb looked so good. Especially with the vegetables.
Soo good.. one of my fave lamb shanks to date!
4pm on a Saturday? That is early time to close hahaha
It's good to know to plan accordingly
That's small town NZ for you, most of NZ closes early each day though, work to live, not live to work is the motto.
We have breakfast at 8, lunch at 2-3pm and dinner between 9-11pm
Then most things are closed in August because it's when most people take vacation, but this has been changing in the last ten years.
Love places that encourage quality of life. Hope to go to NZ one day
@@mariaandbryan Yeah,I saw that in Majorca last year, and in Santiago De Compostela, I love Spain and the culture ,food and beers, can't wait to get back up there.
@@Andy_M986 that makes me happy to hear 😍 Santiago and Galicia overall is amazing. Did you do the James walk?
@@mariaandbryan No,my mates from there took me to Muros and to Fistera, sorry about the spelling of I got it wrong. I love Galicia, such an awesome city and area.
Wow! Great footage and it was interesting seeing my hometown from a tourists perspective. Glad you enjoyed your stay here 😊
Thank you! We really enjoyed Napier, keen to visit again in the summer 💕🌻 If you have any local recommendations please do share ☺️
Once again.. Well Peter and Yen. fantastic guys .
Thank you Mike 😊
Love your cat wing eyeliner Yen! Haha love the classic coin meter, but I'll hate it if I'm using it every day, got not enough coins and rushing for work :P
😼🕊
Wow everything at that restaurant looked hella good 😍😍 my stomach is literally growling as I type LOL
Both the Malaysian and the winery had yum as food 🤤
yum food there but dare
I got Asian blush too 😭 but i still drink hahaa even ginger beer sounds good, love the view 😍
😂 can't remember does nick get Asian flush too?
My Home town, Bummer you missed getting to the Market day , lots of colour to shoot and great people watching vib, not to mention all the yummy food. Kris
Something to look forward to next time we visit 😁👍
Cant go wrong with malay food those noodles charge you up for that wonderful sand beach...love this street and the new zealand local items
It was a nice kiwi Malaysian twist 👌 marine parade was really cool but apparently it's quite a dangerous beach 😮
bahahah sleep talking!
OMGGGG that waterfall!!!!
So nice right 😍
That's a nice comfy Airb&b, love the kitchen!
Peter your wine tasting comment made me laugh. It has tones of grapes, does that mean it has grapes in it lol. Really like your videos
Thanks Peter! Glad you enjoyed that lil nugget... n yeah I'm pretty sure it's all grape 🍇 😂
Wow really great and informative video, thanks u guys for this channel 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it and found it useful! Napier is an awesome city 🙂👍
Tena koe Peter and Yen thankyou for sharing your journey us cool super awesome
Thank you for watching 😊
Woot! Glad you guys had fun in Napier.
Born and raised here.
Such a neat place :)

@@PeterandYen Feel free to hit me up. I enjoy playing tour guide :)
Thanks Amy 😁👍
Fabulous video Peter and Yen. You guys don't need alcohol to have a hoot, it's nice.
There were more goodies in there than I had.. ok never mind haha 😂
No alcohol story and what Yen said, made me laugh. Peter 😍 that shank was such a tease 🤤 with red wine sauce too yummy and that fish dish you had Yen, look so so nice. 3am watching is not a good idea cos I’m hungry now 😋👍🏼
Thank you guys.. Cheers 🥂❤️❤️
Hello aunty 😁👋 hey that lamb shank is payback cause it was late at night when I saw your ox tail soup was gave my stomach the hunger grumbles hahahaha. Our host was so awesome with the custom breakfast assortment and now you have to share the rest of the story hahaha. Take care much ❤
I don't drink either Yen. We'll leave the drinking to Peter. Just don't let him walk into anymore glass doors😂
You 2 always choose the yummiest food❤
The waterfall is amazing.
" hints of grape " I literally laughed out loud😂
Hi Jen 👋 as long as one person has laughed at my lack of wine 🍷 joke it's a job well done 😂 vineyard food is always on point 👌 and yes I'll try not to walk into anymore glass doors... 😂 take care have a great week thank
(winetasting) "dry and quite fruity" lol
My home town thanks for the amazing video
😁✌ thanks napier for having us
That char koay teow looked great! Such pretty buildings in Napier and that Airbnb kitchenette is so well stocked! Hahaha your wine tasting descriptions were funny Peter! Cringe but funny 😂
😅 yeah I dunno what I'm doing with those wines 🍷 😂 glad you were able to look past that and enjoy the vlog regardless 😊👍
You guys are so funny with your non alcoholic stories
Ginger beer, sounds like something Lieles would try hahah
That food looks phenomenal. Soooo tender indeed
Nice fish too Yen.
Love kiwi wines, they are so earthy.
Yooooo Maria coming through with the vocab! Next time I do a wine review I'm gonna try remember that 😂 the lamb shank was delicious 🤤
Really good video guys. I loved it.
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍
hi both. well never seen so much enthusiasm by someone wine tasting haha . i could see you were not that keen , made me laugh , but i am sure your parents will enjoy. must say both those dishes you chose looked most yummy. napier was on my original list of places that i wanted to see but alas i never made it there but after seeing this ,i will next time. so looking forward to the next vid . take care both of you and safe travels
The syrah turned out to be mum's favourite so glad I picked that right 😁👍 but yea alcohol is a bit lost on yen and I hahaha we really enjoyed the food though. Napier is going to have to be another one to add to your list Barry.. wait till you see next Sunday's vlog 😁 the next 3 vlogs should give you plenty more awesome sights to check out for your next trip to NZ 👍
Ahaha, no way!!! My wife and I just moved to Napier from Chicago in October and stayed at that same exact Air B&B with Gil for a week. Had me tripping out what i saw the kitchen!
Whattt that's awesome hahahaha 😁👍 how great is Gil's Airbnb ay! So generous with her food supplies 😍 wow you guys got to NZ right before all the global pandemic.. hope you've been enjoying your time in NZ so far ☺️ Have you been to Te Mata near napier? It's in our vlog after this, awesome views there!
@@PeterandYen Absolutely! Ha yea, we got here just in time to be out of the USA! We love it here. And we go to Te Mata all the time, endless trails to hike there. Great drone footage of the peak!
I live in Napier and I've never seen it so Beautiful as you've filmed it, just Beautiful ❤💗💗💗
Napier is a beautiful town that's for sure. Yen n i enjoyed our time here so much, we'll be coming back again soon 🤞
Who remembers the scarey Skeleton face Cliff near The red bull back in the 80s? I remember people use to climb that...
You guys do a fantastic Audio/Video presentation...must take some effort so well done
Thank you appreciate the feedback 👍
Thanks Peter and Yen for Napier. Beautiful place.
Glad you enjoyed the video Arstiah 🙂👍 Napier is great!
Beauty of NZ, every part of it! 💕. You guys are the best! 😍
Aw thank you Germaine, right back at you! 👍🏼😁
Napier is such a cool place!!!!!
Yes! Totally slept on it for all these years. Great town 👌
@@PeterandYen 100%! I had no idea about how cool it was until i visited about 4 weeks ago
Total meal $93 😮
Wow that’s expensive meals you guys had in the winery, looks like a semi fine dining I think.
Lol at Peter is trying to describe the wine 😂 that’s pretty much us too, only know around those words - dry, fruity... 😂
It's relatively standard for winery food here in NZ though I'd say.. breads, 2 mains and a drink! It does hurt sometimes
when you convert it to the amount of meals you can get in Asia tho hahahah 😂 Yeaaa... we definitely are not wine connoisseurs by any stretch of the imagination lol 😂😂
Really love your New Zealand content
Thanks Deborah! Glad you enjoy it 😊 We've made quite a few videos from NZ now! 😁👍🇳🇿❤️
That sunset! 😍
😍 beautiful right
I'm telling you guys man. AIRBNB reviews by Peter and Yen!! You guys do it so great!!
Hahaha cheers vic! We do enjoy staying at airbnbs 😁
Pants Peter? Pants?? 😁😁 Not gunna lie... anticipation for the food part always gets me.. and Malaysian food (with an NZ twist) did not disappoint. What a beautiful country and awesome road trip so far! Can’t wait until next Sunday:)
Bro its 1 degrees in New Zealand 😂 the pants are coming on when the snow peaks on the mountains ⛰ Malaysian with some muscles was delicious 🤤
