Have lived in London for nearly 20 years so LOVE seeing home (Napier) from other's point of views. Brings back memories of going 'cruisin' with mates as a teen to Te Mata peak. Cheers!
The tunnel is so cool where ya can see closeup views of the fishes n the divers feeding the sharks ! What an experience ! The squid is HUGEE ...440 pounds !! Awesome place !!
That aquarium tunnel thing is s cool!! 😍 have always wanted to visit one like that! The fact that you guys have said it was one of the best aquariums you’ve been to, I’m sold!
Wait. What. Peter has shoes? OMG. Te Mata peak is awesome eh. That road up there is a bit hairy though. But the views are amazing. Really need to check out more of Napier. Can't wait to see your Gisborne vlog. Another underrated gem of the east coast.
😂😂😂 mate I do wear them on rare occasions. Gizzy is massively underrated. We've been to the town where they filmed Boy before but it was our first time to gisborne on this road trip 😁
great views up there seems rather windy the museum in Napier looks rather interesting oh and the aquarium looks good too and then lost looking for the wetlands looked cool when you found it noted no food in your video *full viewed👍Au👍left our like for you*

Hey guys! Another amazing video! Makes me want to go to NZ even more! The views from up top was absolutely stunning! I can’t think of the right words to even describe how beautiful it looks! Must be even better in person! The drone footage really gave us a good overview! Great time at the aquarium too! Looks very fun! Can’t wait to watch your next video! Thanks for sharing, Take care!
The views were breathtaking 😍 yea nothing quite like seeing it for yourself in person though ⛰️ we really are spoilt with incredible scenery here in NZ! The aquarium was a really awesome experience too, that Alfie is a fascinating creature 😁👍 hope you can visit NZ some day. Have a great week ahead 👋☺️
Love the aquarium! Huge fan of lizards!! I always wanted to see a giant Komodo! Hahaa you guys are like in the middle of no where that's the adventure! Finding your way around! A drone is a great way to find yourself out!! How dope!
Plus as a new Zealand kid you hear about tuataras during your school years and it becomes the reptile you wanna see the most. Majestic lil creatures, komodo dragons are super cool too 😍🦎🐊
Penguins soooo cute 😍😍😍 that squid is massive!! Wetlands look dry 😆 (just like how Iceland is green, and Greenland is ice haha) ohhh okay, that's the wet part! 😆 such a contrast of view, but still lovely!!
Hey my friends hope you are well and having a great start to the weekend so far. This place looks amazing, very nice indeed and very cool scenery. Great drone footage guys, you really captured the magic of the place. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us really appreciate it keep safe and take care my friends catch up soon God bless you both 🙏❤️👍
Love a good aquarium, especially now that is so hot over here. Nice tunnel. Oh man, Google has also taken us to some random roads and places. Hahaha It actually happened last weekend. Glad you found it though. Beautiful boardwalk.
Hahaha Google just likes to troll every now and then ay but luckily most of the time it's awesome 😁👍 that aquarium was so cool! Not that big but heaps of cool stuff to see 💙☺️
Looks like it's getting chili over there. Hahaha Peter hiking and wearing shoes! No need to compare. You guys have visited some very unique spots. Quiet time is important.
Yep! It was definitely chilly with how windy it was too 😅 yea gotta have quiet time each day.. for this road trip we vlogged 7 days in a row (and made the 5 vlogs) ☺️👍 need to have those breaks 😁
Hey Peter and Yen!! so great to see you and so awesome to see this adventure! Love the drone footage of the sheep, and it's absolutely beautiful there!! That's awesome there are lots of hiking and biking trails! With lots of mountain ranges here, we have to drive carefully too!! We feel the same way, sometimes you think the beauty and wonder can't get any better, and then you're pleasantly surprised!! That museum is really awesome to see as well, and the history of the Napier area.. We LOVE that Samurai armor. We love Aquariums.. we would love that place! And $15/person is really affordable! Awwwww... Fairy Penguins!! They are so beautiful! The shark feeding was so cool to see!! That's so crazy that lizard can outlive humans!! 100 is a long life! The wetlands are beautiful too, and sad to hear it's one of the last ones in the area. Thank you for taking us with you and love you guys to the mother effin' moon! ! Stay safe!
Hi girls 👋☺️ Hope you're both doing well! Te Mata has stunning views and best of all so easy to get to the summit unlike some others 😁👍⛰️ you know that tuatara is super cool.. it comes from an order of reptiles that thrived during the age of dinosaurs! It looks like a mini dinosaur I reckon lol and we were so lucky to see it coz they're really rare but also it doesn't normally come out of its little hiding spots and pose so perfectly like that apparently. It's really really still and slow too haha the staff there were telling us about how scientists discovered they apparently sometimes only register stress like 3 months later 😅 and they only breathe like once an hour I think it was. You can only find them in NZ too. Fascinating creatures! Take care you two and luv right back at ya 😁💕💕👋
The views of the rolling hills are beautiful each direction looks so different 😃 The aquarium is really cool! They have so many unique exhibits. The penguins are so cute and so are their names too😊 the tuatara looks like a little dinosaur. I remember reading about them. They have been around for such a long time!
They're such cool reptiles righ?t? Really fascinating and amazing ancient lineage 😍 it totally feels like a lil mini dinosaur 😁 I remembering seeing one as a kid and not being able to appreciate then how cool they are but as an adult it was like wow 😍 so special!
Very lovely north island road trip guys! The 360 degree view spot looks really awesome. You guys are so blessed living in NZ, never get tired with the amazing view of NZ nature 😍 The museum and aquarium looks awesome too 👍🏻 Love to see some native NZ animals there. Good tip about the toilet information in the description guys haha. As much as we love spend hours on the road to enjoy the view, sometimes it worries us if we can’t find any toilet when we need it 😅
So true! New Zealand just has beautiful views everywhere.. it's not difficult to get to many of them too which makes it even better ☺️👍 hahaha yeah toilet stops are definitely important! Most of the popular tourist spots will have toilets but I guess the wetlands isn't somewhere many go so they didn't have any there 😅 but yea Hawke's Bay is awesome, hope you guys get a chance to visit it one day 👍☺️
lol those sheep live dangerously on the edge. more awesome drone shots, so good! Viiiiews are epic!! amazing 10/10 for sure! wow the earthquake hit really hard back then. lol we also visit aquariums everywhere we go! So much fun and interesting to see all the sea life. Pete maaate, you led the party astray and blaming google LOL! good to see you guys end up where you're supposed to. It looks so cool and peaceful to walk around.
Yea I think it was one of NZ's worst hit disasters unfortunately but Napier rebuilt itself and now it's so unique 👍 hahahaha Peter kept saying Google should've known better 😂😂 apparently we're not the only ones it's happened to though so we don't feel quite so bad lolol 🤣
Sooo awesome! Exquisite views, the verdant landscape, the sheer ruggedness of peaks! ✌💕 The underwater aquarium reminded me of Kelly Tarlton in Auckland.
Te Mata Peak looks amazing! Will definitely be on my bucket list next time visiting Napier. Keep up the good work guys, good to see all the new places and also your perspective on the places i have been :)
I’ve been binged watching your videos. I just like your vibes as travel vloggers. Not airy..down-to-earth couple and i like your tiny piece of info about that particular place. I even used your video in Taupo as sort of itinerary when we went there last Sep 2020. 😄👏🏼👏🏼👍👍
Thanks so much Merlyn! ❤️ Glad you enjoy our videos and that they've even come in handy for your Taupo trip 😁👍 There's so many great places to visit in NZ ay? 🙂
Hi Peter and Yen! Thank you for another awesome video! 😄 I was so surprised to hear that you are 35 😯 You both look really young! And Te Mata Peak's views were absolutely stunning, it went straight on my to-visit list for New Zealand! Have a nice Sunday! 🤗
Hello Laura 😁👋 happy Sunday. 35 is still young right? Hahahaha thank you though. Yeah te mata is such a stand out location amazing place for sure hawkes bay definitely in our top 5 places to visit in North island 🏝
Peter and Yen haha yes off course it’s still young 😉I like to think that as long as people stay young at heart, there’s no age that is ‘old’ 😅 I’ll be looking forward to next week’s video!
Awesome drone shots! Love the little sheep 🐑 Stunning views aye! Nice to see you guys have quiet time away from vlogging, you both work so hard on your videos. Aww the lil penguins are adorable 😍 I like how they showcase kiwi’s and tuatara’s as well. The wetlands look awesome, nice place for a scenic walk. Hope you guys are doing well 😊
hello peter and yen . another great vid so look forward to these every week , yes i am lucky enough to have met you both and you guys are so natural .and to anyone that has never met you i will say this ,you are exactly the same in person as you are on these vids , now i guess knowing you both you probably feel awkward about me saying this but its true. i just wish that i was a younger guy so that i could get to know you both more . but hell yes it does look like the next time i visit it will have to be for at least 6 to 8 weeks oh so many nice places to see. please you two both take care and keep these vids coming , thank you
Hello Barry 💕👋 How have you been? Glad you enjoyed this video too! Haha yup you'll definitely need a longer trip next time you visit! 👍☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words and for always supporting our videos and cheering us on ❤️ we really appreciate it and always look forward to reading your comments each week 😁 Only 2 vlogs left for this series, there may be a couple more places that you might be keen to visit 🤞☺️ we're hoping to plan a South Island trip soon too 🤞😍
Having my breakfast (last breakfast) and watching this beautiful well put video. Thank you both soooo much. It gave me excitement ooo and ahhhh watching how beautiful NZ is. Google better behave.. haha 😂 Looks so cold but you guys gave us your best, as usual. Look forward to seeing Gizzy next. Take care Guys. 💕💕
Hello aunty 👋😊 we had 3 amazing days in Hawkes Bay going to have to head back in summer. There are so many beautiful spots to check out. Hahaha yeah that Google or maybe it was just user error 🤔 😅 thanks for the lovely message have an amazing week ahead look forward to seeing what you eat next 😁✌❤
Amazing. I'm sitting here in Nepal where I'm based and watching you talk about Te Mata peak which I used to run, walk, climb and bike on constantly but haven't been there for nearly 20 years. Great vlogs about the Bay, I'm a new subscriber, looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
@@PeterandYen Well it's a battle here at the moment, I work in wildlife conservation and illegal wildlife trade a massive issue, wouldn't make a fun vlog! But yeah, never a dull moment though. I'm going to have time to check out a few more of your videos tomorrow, you guys have created a wonderful lens, keep up the great work, I'm damn jealous about the food you eat :)
Wow, Te Mata Peak looks incredible! I love Napier. I went there during a university Geography field trip. I did my research project on Art Deco buildings in Napier.
Hahahaha, I'm usually the one dragging yen. I'm really into history 😅 I really wanna go Greece too to see all the historic philosophy buildings museums and the sites of Alexander the great. Ima drag you to a museum one day too 😂
I remember years ago they use to have hang gliders jump off that peak.. they had their own launch runway. The MTG looks like a spectacular place to visit.
I really wanted to do that! Looked everywhere to see if I could find that experience but then went to the conclusion that maybe I dreamed it up. Thanks for confirming it was real 😂
@@PeterandYen Are you guys heading towards Auck or Welly? King of Cards and Vagabond in Auckland, and Cerberus Games in Wellington do Geeky things like Magic cards. Wellington also has Board Game Cafe called Counter Culture.
That penguin that swims around the glass, close to the the viewing area, has been there since a very young age and Thinks she's a human too. That's why she always comes close to hang out with guests ;)
I’m with you Peter 1000000% on aquariums! My wife and I are such suckers for them, we got married at an aquarium:) Thanks for sharing another sliver of NZ beauty!
Yesss! Glad I'm not the only one hahaha. Been to Okinwa, Singapore, Hong Kong Auckland and now napier aquarium. Its my happy place. I often watch videos of aquariums here in RUclips too 😂 your wedding sounds awesome! Send some photos sometime.
Peter and Yen when this pandemic settles and you guys make it to the US... Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta!!! I could sit there all day!!! ...and of course, Monterey Aquarium...
Awesome videos! Been watching your North Island videos for our trip Nov 16-23 there in the North Island. I saw that you guys flew drones in several of your vlogs...could I get more details on how you did it? If I need to register my drone and how strict they are over there? (Australia seems very strict as I might not even try to fly it there.) I only do it recreationally and I have a DJI Mini 3 Pro which is 249 grams total to avoid additional regulations for drones 250 grams and over...thanks in advance for your help! if you guys are in town during our visit..lets grab a drink :) Cheers Marvin and Adrian
you have not been to Maunga Taranaki though?! hehehehe! WOW super beautiful, I am scared of heights so that was a lil scary watching Pete on that peak eeeek!
Haven't been to Mount Taranaki yet we are planning on going there in the next couple of months though cause we heard there are cherry bosoms in spring 😁👌 hahaha yeah the peak was pretty awesome but will give you the jitters if you're afraid of heights. Wait till you see the west Auckland video 😁
@@PeterandYen YAY! Taranaki is a lot better in the spring just because during winter it's freezing. omg if you are talking about Mercer Loop. I did that loop last year and my cousins were freaking me out! Look forward to the vlog.
Feeding sharks .... I'm all excited here while Lieles is making faces hahahah I wish we would have filmed the time we swam with sharks, we might just have to do it again
We were incredibly lucky!! Carlie was saying he doesn't normally go perch and pose on the rock all perfect like that 😍😍 I was looking at him in fascination for ages lolol such a cool creature. I reckon he looks like a mini dinosaur ☺️ I think a lot of kids unfortunately can't appreciate how special it is to see a tuatara but it was just really cool. I didn't realize they were more endangered than kiwi too 😮
Yea I read that great whites just can't survive in captivity. They refuse to eat and/or get stressed then die or if they get released back to the wild after a few days they also can't survive and die too ☹️ so no aquariums in the world have them but they have tried before (ending in those sad results!)
@@PeterandYen I actually born and raised in Kedah, now settled down in KL. I am now watching your videos to plan for my 3rd visit (or more) to NZ once the pandemic and travel restriction eases. Love NZ very very much. From the video I guess both of you had your child hood and emigrated to NZ since young? G9.
Ahh nice 👍☺️ Hope you get lots of ideas then for your epic trip! Yea both our families migrated to NZ when we were very little kids (3 for me and 4 for Yen) so we grew up in and spent our lives in New Zealand 😁🇳🇿
@@PeterandYen I still remembered vividly when at Napier, which most travellers would give it a miss due to distance. Yeah that Waipunga Falls was an unplanned scenic stop along the drive from Taupo to Napier. Its very windy at the Te Mata Peak I still can recalled. Napier Art Deco city is absolutely gems with colorful buildings of all shape and size. Would visit again to Napier next time.
Yea it's definitely worth a visit to napier when visiting the North Island of NZ ☺️👍 did you get to go to Gisborne too? Also east coast of North Island.

Great views everywhere. Good video guys, as usual. I think I'd enjoy walking around the Wetlands.
Think you'd have many good walking group trips at the wetlands ✌🙂
Those wavy hills and mountains! 🌊⛰
Such cool landscape ay? There's Maori legend that accompanies it too we learnt after! ☺️
You guys are so brave for walking backwards and talking while walking at the wetlands 😂 I’d be so scared to fall in 😅

The music the drone. Such a vibe 🤤 OPEN THE BOARDER! 😂

Hello Laura 😁👋 happy Sunday. 35 is still young right? Hahahaha thank you though. Yeah te mata is such a stand out location amazing place for sure hawkes bay definitely in our top 5 places to visit in North island 🏝
Peter and Yen haha yes off course it’s still young 😉I like to think that as long as people stay young at heart, there’s no age that is ‘old’ 😅
I’ll be looking forward to next week’s video!
Hahahaha well said 😁👍 Thanks Laura! Have an awesome week 👋
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁👍
Hope you guys are doing well 😊
😅 we were going super well until a few hours ago... 4 community cases in South Auckland and now we're all back to level 3 for 3 days
Peter and Yen Oh wow. I guess it will be like this for a while with random cases popping up. At least NZ works fast to prevent cases. Stay safe guys!
Yea unfortunately it was inevitable I guess 😅 cheers you take care too 👍
I would like to see more about that region!
We'll definitely be back sometime soon 😁👍
So beautiful 😍❤️
❤️⛰️☺️💯
hello peter and yen . another great vid so look forward to these every week , yes i am lucky enough to have met you both and you guys are so natural .and to anyone that has never met you i will say this ,you are exactly the same in person as you are on these vids , now i guess knowing you both you probably feel awkward about me saying this but its true. i just wish that i was a younger guy so that i could get to know you both more . but hell yes it does look like the next time i visit it will have to be for at least 6 to 8 weeks oh so many nice places to see. please you two both take care and keep these vids coming , thank you
Hello Barry 💕👋 How have you been? Glad you enjoyed this video too! Haha yup you'll definitely need a longer trip next time you visit! 👍☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words and for always supporting our videos and cheering us on ❤️ we really appreciate it and always look forward to reading your comments each week 😁 Only 2 vlogs left for this series, there may be a couple more places that you might be keen to visit 🤞☺️ we're hoping to plan a South Island trip soon too 🤞😍
There is the mangrove walkway in rawene hokianga Which is similar to the pekapeka walkway , cool
Ooo gonna need to check that out next time. Thanks for the recommendation!
Having my breakfast (last breakfast) and watching this beautiful well put video. Thank you both soooo much. It gave me excitement ooo and ahhhh watching how beautiful NZ is.
Google better behave.. haha 😂
Looks so cold but you guys gave us your best, as usual.
Te Mata Peak looks stunning!!! Those mountains 😍😍😍 Omg Peter, stand back!! That's scary!! What happened to Peter's hair after that? hahaha!
😁✌ amazing cliff right! Beautiful views everywhere. What happens to my hair in te mata stays in te mata 😂
That was Kool thank you from Aus
haha when drone becomes more helpful than Google maps!
Haha I eventually worked out we needed to add walkway to the end 😅😅
Ahhhhh those sheeps!!!!
Hahahaha of course you guys would like the sheep
Hi Jack 👋 wow Nepal that sounds like you're on an epic adventure? Thanks for subbing and glad to bring back some nostalgia for you 👍
@@PeterandYen Well it's a battle here at the moment, I work in wildlife conservation and illegal wildlife trade a massive issue, wouldn't make a fun vlog!
That's so cool! We really liked Napier and Te Mata was stunning 😍❤️⛰️
I love how u grannies actually go to museums lol I’m not at that level yet but I’m sure some day.. lol
Everytime i see MTG I think Magic, The Gathering (the trading card game). We've often joked about hosting events there.
Peter loves MTG!! Hahaha he use to play all the time and had an amazing rare foil collection 😁👍☺️
So yea when we saw MTG we thought of the card game at first too lol
@@PeterandYen Are you guys heading towards Auck or Welly?
King of Cards and Vagabond in Auckland, and Cerberus Games in Wellington do Geeky things like Magic cards. Wellington also has Board Game Cafe called Counter Culture.
That penguin that swims around the glass, close to the the viewing area, has been there since a very young age and Thinks she's a human too. That's why she always comes close to hang out with guests ;)
Haha yes! Dora right? She was so cute and loved all the attention ☺️
Awesome! Cheers for the recommendation 😁👍 definitely keen to check those out
You both are 35 years old? I thought you were still in your 20s. Wow, both look fabulous!
Haha thank you! 😁 Yea we'll both be 35 in like 2-3 few months' time 🙂
Awesome videos!
I proposed to my wife exactly where you are standing in the thumbnail. Great video!
That would've been an epic proposal! Were you clutching the ring box tightly so as not to drop it? 😅
Of course 😊 it was about 6am with the sunrise too
Damn that would've been incredible 👍😁 nice work mate!
I’m loving all the drone shots you’ve used. Which type of drone is it?
Thanks Matt! It's a dji mavic pro platinum ☺️ Peter recently changed some settings for it so it's been taking much nicer footage now 😁✌️
you have not been to Maunga Taranaki though?!
*Blossoms 😂😂🌸🌸🌸
@@PeterandYen YAY! Taranaki is a lot better in the spring just because during winter it's freezing. omg if you are talking about Mercer Loop. I did that loop last year and my cousins were freaking me out! Look forward to the vlog.
Yup we did the mercer loop. 😅 can totally imagine some of those stops would be a bit nerve racking if you're afraid of heights especially
Feeding sharks .... I'm all excited here while Lieles is making faces hahahah
I wish we would have filmed the time we swam with sharks, we might just have to do it again
Ooooo that sounds so cool! Did you do the one in the aquarium or the cage with great white sharks? Would love to do the cage diving experience
@@PeterandYen none, we did it in the open sea hahaha
He will tell you the story one day when we meet in person hahaha
Oooo wow that sounds amazing! 😮
No. 1 yahoooo!
Cheeehooo 🥇
Nick is scared of heights so he will definitely ask me to be on the peak & he just film it 🤣😅
😂😂 nick... Nicholas... how can?
If I was working (Thanks Covid!) I would totally do a road trip every weekend now that I'm seeing yr amazing footage of God Zone aka Aotearoa
😅 yeah that darn pandemic... all the best with your future road tripping adventure though. Thanks for watching ✌😊
@@PeterandYen I'll tag you guys on IG when I do 👍
Looking forward to it 😁👍
Peter get down from there, my entire world is shaking
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂 yeah those high ridges are not for people scared of heights
The country side with the rolling hills reminds me of Scotland or Ireland
We'd love to visit there one day too, bet it's amazing! 😍⛰️
So rare that you got to see the tuatara! I go to the aquarium many times a year and MAYBE get to see it once every few years. So Shy!
I didn't realize they were more endangered than kiwi too 😮
Lieles says it's great you can drive all the way there because he was already thinking "oh no, not hiking" lol
Hahahaha imagining lieles waking up the 3 hours makes me smile
No jandals, Peter? :P
Hahaha 1 degrees is time for shoes to come out
Hi Peter,
Is that safe to stand at the peak there?
I would like to try but looks scary to me haha
Yes it's very safe 😁👍
That would be crazy if they had Great Whites in that aquarium. But I guess it would be inhumane
Yea I read that great whites just can't survive in captivity. They refuse to eat and/or get stressed then die or if they get released back to the wild after a few days they also can't survive and die too ☹️ so no aquariums in the world have them but they have tried before (ending in those sad results!)
I'm here with my popcorn
😁👍 hope you enjoyed the vlog
YOOOO lol 😂
Oh and I'd have to disagree with the whole Dave being a cute name thing Peter 🤣 but hey it's upto you man 😁
😂😂😂 you got me there mate 😂
@@PeterandYen 😂 Those pinguins were cute tho im not gonna lie but yeah Dave + Cute = No 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 I had no idea what I was saying at the time.. I was on penguin cuteness overload 😂😂
@@PeterandYen You were probably just tired ay bro cos u did turn down the wrong street too 😂😂😂 #eatyourweetbix 😄
Hello Peter and Yan, good morning from Malaysia.
Hello Walter 😁👋👋 what part of Malaysia are you from? Yen is from Malacca 👍☺️
Is that a ummmmmmm DJI blah blah? That little camera on the tripod?
That's the one 😁
You should go to mangawhai it in NZ Auckland
Please give it a go please
Thank you for the recommendation! We will definitely go there and make a vlog at some point 😁🤙
Hi guys, is it ok to drive a 4berth motorhome up to te mata peak?
The road might be a little bit squashed at places but should be all good 👍
Oh Google maps 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
This happens to us every now and then
Drone to the rescue !!!
😅 yeah but I guess it's kinda user error too
@@PeterandYen lol
Art Deco is all a front
"A steep wall".... well...you've got to see Crimean steep walls, mate! That's a steep walls!
