    Write down your thoughts and feelings and write letters to your future self.
    When you do write down all these letters It's just a matter of time when you do get better and you look back. Then you're going to remember the situations that you were in, the mindsets that you were in, what you were feeling, what you were thinking, and you're going to be like, damn, I made it.
    And it's going to make your recovery story that much sweeter.

    You're making me tear up. I'm mostly recovered but I'm still going through it for sure... brain fog blurry vision loneliness and anxiety... one year from now, I will look back and be amazed

    • @cfsrecovery
      @cfsrecovery  3 года назад +3

      Yes, you will be amazed. It's hard to believe you'll ever come out of the fog but it just takes time, you have to get rid of that negative feeling and those negative thoughts when you're in that fog. That's when you need to focus on retraining your brain, during those dark moments.
      I know how hard it is though, you'll still feel those negative emotions and thoughts that come with the symptoms. But if you do focus on keeping those negative thoughts away + you let your body rest, you will heal so much faster than just letting the illness rule your life.

      It sounds like you may be close or at “functional recovery” meaning you can do essentially what a normal person can but just with more symptoms and difficulty. Maybe I’m off here, but this is me. And even in this stage it’s very difficult!!! Well all get there soon!!!
      And Miguel thank you so much for the motivation, truely inspiring!!! You are doing amazing work! I shilled your video about the science of your recovery pretty hard during my interview with Raelan yesterday

    Your story is so inspiring! I journal everyday. When I get better I’m going to be so strong I’m going to be untouchable. I struggle so much the the brain retraining because my subconscious is constantly fighting me. It feels exhausting. Sometimes I feel like I have too much work to do!

      Hi Melinda, thank you! You will get there 👊🏼. And I know how that feels, when you feel like there's an internal battle going on within your mind / body. I actually have a video coming soon talking about how you are not your enemy and the importance of aligning your whole mindset for 1 common goal. I think that will be a very helpful video for you.

      My pleasure! I wrote about 200 page long notes to myself in about 8 months when I was completely bedridden, I haven't even gone back and reread all of them. I'm thinking when I write my book I'll include scanned pages of some of the most important notes I wrote to myself.

    I like this idea a lot. Did you have cognitive dysfunction that made the process more difficult? And if so how did you cut through the fog and poor memory to be able to fully take advantage of journaling? In other words did these techniques help you get your brain back?

    • @cfsrecovery
      @cfsrecovery  3 года назад +3

      Hi Adam, definitely I had brain fog 24 seven for about a year when I was completely bedridden. I feel like even with the horrible brain fog and poor memory journaling is something that's done in the moment. You don't really need to remember anything to imagine what a great future would be like, so I would just write down whatever came to my mind in that moment.
      Actually, I would go on a mental vacation and write down all the details.
      Journaling and visualizing more so gave me hope for the future and helped temporarily stop the pain.

    I just recently found your videos. I’ve been watching other peoples as well but one thing I haven’t really heard on what to do when your being stressed pretty much any moment of every day. I have four young kids that are always being loud which hurt my ears and causing me stress which causes me to crash pretty much every day. Do you have any advice on how to handle being constantly triggered? I hope that made sense, thanks

    • @cfsrecovery

      Ahh that’s a tricky one. To be honest I can’t say exactly what to do but if I were you I would probably wear noise cancelling headphones throughout the day to limit the amount of noise

I still have a lot I’m working through but I’m seeing slow progress as I continue to take my thoughts captive and redirect negative thoughts onto something positive. Im not perfect at it and I let my mind wonder to far sometimes but I do the best I can. I hope your seeing improvements as well.
