@@LongboardSessions Nice! I'm picking up a 9'6'' soon. It'd be so awesome to meet and surf with you one day when ur in socal. I especially love your dedication to this channel and your commitment to becoming a better longboarder. So inspirational!
Yea it’s great! My chignona is 9’6” and my longboard goes up to just above my waist I think. Not exactly sure the exact dimensions. I do want a longer one tho
@@LongboardSessions lmk estimate of width? I'm from Michigan, believe it or not there's waves, most Ave to close together and they close out fast. But sometimes we get some that get head high n don't close out.
Thanks !! Well I would say the best practice for wiping out is making sure you cover your head with your arms. Always expect the board to hit you. Also, never dive head first because you never know how shallow the water is. Learning how to exit waves with style is a slightly more advanced maneuver, but you can start practicing. Ben considine has a good video on the "kickout" which you may want to check out!
Another fun informative video. Focussing on getting to the nose but not getting back seems kinda crazy. But it seems pretty common. That's sure what I did. Fairly smooth going forward then shuffling or doing a hop going back. It got me where I needed to be to do a turn. But it was an eye sore.
Eye sore is right! I waited far too long to really work on the back steps lol. Some waves I'd like like a pro cross stepping to the nose.. and than a complete kook afterwards lol
Awesome thanks!! Glad they're helping! If you contact the board company directly and give them your height and weight they can recommend a size for you. That's what I did and they are typically quite helpful
Thanks!! Well, I'm looking at wave height and period as well as wind direction. So basically I open up the magic seaweed app and figure 1.8' at 10 seconds with a west wind is great. Anything like that or bigger typically works well
Yea I thought these we're perfect! It's actually three songs all by Torii Wolf. 1st is called "Block 26", 2nd is "Ancient Flame" and 3rd is "No one knows but me"
Very comprehensive and well explained. Cheers, thank s and enjoy your lovely coastline
Thanks John!! Will do
So much improvement! Well done mate!
Thanks Adam! Yea it's getting easier and easier.. the back steps used to be so daunting
you should team up with ben gravy 100%
Haha maybe one day
Looking really light footed and nimble these days… Progression in a couple of years is awesome 👏🏻
Thanks Rich! Yea totally.. when I look back at older vids cross stepping seemed like such a struggle. Getting easier and easier
I would like to watch a 20 minute raw session of yours
Just an uncut session please
How about a live stream of a complete session? I was considering trying that...
@@LongboardSessions sounds amazing would definitely watch
killing it Brian..... So much improvement....
Thanks Cheryl! Slowly but surely I'm improving, but nothing has been more obvious than the back steps. All it took was some focus haha
What are your longboard dimensions?? Love your content!!
Thanks Michael! I'm currently riding a 9'6" COS Chingona

So smooth and elegant buddy… nice work 🤙🤙
Thanks Adam! Occasionally elegant.. normally flailing haha!
I love your longboard! do you mind telling me what model it is?
Thanks! It's a 9'6" COS Chingona
Awesome mate great info at this stage myself gave it a go earlier today and helped to reset for the next section of the wave.
Excellent, great to hear! Iv'e noticed the better I get at back steps, the more confident I am noseriding. Don't feel as "stuck"
Your videos are great. Learning alot. Just getting ready for my first longboard. What size is this board?
Just saw below. 9,6. Once again great videos.

This is awesome! What specific conditions do you look for before deciding if it’s worth the commute to the waves??

Thank you so much! I’m learning how to interpret forecasts for “go” vs “no go” conditions
You need a sponsored trip. It would be a hoot.
yes please! I might need to be my own sponsor😂
Awesome editing improvement!! Love the vids!
Thanks! Editing is so time consuming, but slowly getting better at it hehe
You’re a brilliant surfer great videos love it
Thanks so much!!
Only surf video on the web covering this. Nicely done!
Thanks Billy! I bet your simulator setup would be perfect for practicing this as well
@@LongboardSessions it definitely works for this.
Looking good man! How you liking the chingona? Looks like you do your best longboarding on it.
Thanks Corey! Loving it for sure.. it's a great board that's basically built for NJ waves. works really well
Now that i'm improving a little I think I can size it down a few inches tho. Maybe I'll look for a used one
@@LongboardSessions I got to ride one down here in South Florida a few weeks back. I think it was a 9'7 Chingona and I loved it!
Love ur clearly tutorial ! Thx
You got it!!🤙
Looking so smooth!
Thanks bro!! Getting smoother as I go.. still lots of work to do haha
