Once you have a solid foundation, check out surfskates. They offer an incredibly fun deep carving experience (you don't have to be a surfer to enjoy them)
There are so many other awesome styles you can progress into; dancing, long distance, surfskate, street, park, slalom, freeride, downhill, freestyle, etc. I wish I knew these other styles existed
Totally agree that most people don’t care. The down side is it might be hard to find an in person community. The internet can be a great way to build a network of people to help keep you hyped up ✌️
Ah man I was about to make the same Video ;D Just love your Style of Video, it's chill and straight to the point! Truly one of the best channels on Longboarding out there!
thanks! i actually ordered it as a sample from a manufacturer for concrete waves merch. But i did some searching and found you can get it here - www.clothingshoponline.com/p/independent-trading-co/prm3500_midweight-pigment-dyed-crewneck-sweatshirt?color=pigment_alpine_green-pigment_dyed
totally get the 3 phases in #4, I too upgraded my bushings and wheels and plunged into the holy shizzz phase for my surfskate journey xD Now I'm in the "I want 'em all" phase.
I have seen some notable differences in wheel bearings, but most often it seems the wheels make a greater difference in performance - even within the same size range.
I love that there kinda is no rule to what or how you ride (as long as your safe). One of my favourite things to do is put my set of 77mm speed vents on my dancer and just cruise in max comfort and foot space.
I’d also highly recommend wearing safety gear. Let’s start a thread of other helpful things for beginners👇
