'Like it never happened'. Great technique tutorial! Oh, the video's you'll be posting when you take this to a local meet and the experts just scratch their heads saying, 'What the bloody hell is this?!?'

Yes, thanks! Apologies for the delay. Car is on the road but I have had a dodgy back and I'm now just waiting for sunny weather to finish the last part of the video and uploading. Possibly next weekend......

You just keep pushing the logic of "buy or make" further and further. "Welding rod" the same as the parent metal makes 100pct sense. With these the extra long ones, you'd never be able to buy those... There's also the quality of finish you achieve. A little shim to space the saw cut would get everything to the same length out the hole if being really fussy, or drill out and try again until able to do by eye. The setting is great to see as a contrast to aircraft type rivet squeezers. Like with building a shed in the garden you only need to please yourself rather than, as with a proper building or aircraft, an inspector of some sort to reassure done to X,Y,Z process and standard.

Thanks! I have to confess I am a fan of aircraft rivets, in particular when applied to the inside of jet intakes - they really can be beautiful!
