Next time I'll call it a rainbro lol. But seriously, the top side of both of those fish had the same pattern a brown trout does. It was surprising to me. Any how, thanks for watching and commenting my friend.
I've been saving this one for a good time to watch. I so appreciate your videos. I learn so much about tactics and reading the stream, and I empathize with the wins and losses. Glad you got into some, and that rain-brown was cool. I honestly have never even thought those exist before... not sure why! I'm glad you stayed positive despite losing that one at the end. That was a monster! I've never come close to that. 👍
Thank you Ryan, I appreciate the kind words. I've never seen a rainbow where the top part of its body looked so much like a brown. It threw me off haha
Big Brown. Lots of stuff to get hung up on. I've lost more monsters than I've landed over the years. The memories of those fish are still vivid. You will likely get another shot at them. Another great video.
I certainly hope so. I'm thinking the water in between holes is too shallow to move unless water levels rise. I'll be back out there soon. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to watch 🙏🏾
Really enjoy your videos. You do a great job of positioning the fish at the release for so we get a really good beauty shot of the trout. Your honest commentary is both educational and entertaining. Don’t feel to bad about losing that big brown. It got that big because it learned how to use the submerged wood in that stream to survive. Keep up the great work!
Love this video. My type of fishing. I love exploring new rivers and parts of rivers, finding new pockets that hold fish that may have never seen a fly before. You caught more than you lost and they were pretty - know the feeling of losing them though, brings you back.
Yes sir, a week and a half ago. It's really the only river I've been fishing. I look at flows everyday and yes, a lot of rivers are coming down. Hopefully the fish will still be there.
Yea, I thought that was unique. I was in Oregon during the beginning of June and fished the Metolius. IT reminded me of that river, only the Metolius is on a whole other level of beauty. Stunning. Thank you Eric 🙏🏾
@@FreeFormFlyFisherI was up there in late June, love the Metolius and the family loves Camp Sherman and Sisters so its a win all around. I love how the river changes so quickly from the upper river to lower in just a few miles. It feels like a completely different river. Lower river was skunking me, I ended up fishing the upper with a small stream rod with success. I’ll have to return once again for that bull trout though.
@Bob-cf2ft Yes, I describe the Met like a Coral reef in a fresh water river. Never seen anything like it. Caught the most beautiful bow I have ever seen. Also caught a white fish and as I was bringing it in, a big bull was chasing it. Definitely going to have to go back to get a bull. A gentleman on the river told me that I was about two months early for good bull trout fishing. Maybe I'll try and make another trip up there.
Thank you for that tip. I'll definitely try it next time. It's bound to happen again haha. I had two flies on. A heavy green drake size 12 and below that a pheasant tail size 16. Couldn't quite tell which one he took.
No bites at all. The water is really high and the main channel is pretty much inaccessible. Saw another guy fishing and talked to him and he said he’d been out there for three hours with nothing. The flows decided to jump about 50 cfs right when we started fishing so that probably shut down the bite. @@FreeFormFlyFisher
@thecalfisher I can see it being a little sketchy with high flows. When flows are just right, that place is an absolute gem. I've fished it several times and have only seen one person. The back of his property goes down to the river. He said I was the only person he had ever seen fishing there haha. I highly recommend going back when flows are below 200 cfs.
I definitely will be back there a lot now, but I’ll try and hike more because we only fished the run in front of the parking lot. Hope to see you out there someday! @@FreeFormFlyFisher
Awesome day, beautiful water and a few nice ones in the net too, thanks for the trip, thumbs up and greetings to all,, Tony.
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Cheers Tony 🍻
Great video buddy, once again keep them coming. RainBrow hybrid that was nice.

That was a tough day! But you did everything right. Beautiful river.
Tough and rough haha. Hopefully I get them next time. Gracias Eduardo 🙏🏾

This is so true. I can't stop thinking about them haha. Ill be back there for sure. Glad you enjoyed watching. Thank you for commenting.
Good stuff. Was this recently, because water was in great shape. Everywhere I been checking, still high but starting to come into shape

The structure there was really interesting, how it would drop into those slots. Still a solid day despite the losses. Great video as always.

Nice video! Now you know where they are.
I hope they don't move any time soon. Thanks brotha
squaw is good. nice
Thank you
very cool, if he goes into rocks , give your line slack, he might run out, and witch bug was working? Tight lines bro

Great video. Do you give guided trips?
Thank you. Sorry, I do not.
I just found the exact spot you were at. Won’t say the name, but it’s really nice…
Nice. How'd you do? Water is about double the flow right now from when I fished it.

@thecalfisher right on that'd be cool. I'll sub to your channel as well. I like some of those flies you've tied. Good stuff man. Keep it up
