Hi Tim! The absolute best fly! For me it’s super effective 24/7/365. If anyone checks out my videos, the egg pattern or Globug is a staple on my nymphing tandem rig. Just as effective in the Summer as in Winter, actually all four seasons. Mine is most effective on a size 16 2499 or 2488 hook without a bead for shallow water or size 14 with a bead. I usually use a 3/32 tungsten gold bead. I have tried the smaller sizes but overall, these two sizes have been most consistently successful. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Tim looked all over the internet for a video on Larsens legend stone fly and haven't found one. I think you should be the guy to put one out there.
I actually invented this fly 8 years ago in Arkansas and some Guys from North Carolina that I fished with went home and tied it and named it eggstacy. It’s really called Brett’s Balls… of yarn haha.
Basically the Y2K was causing fish to only nip at the flowy tail and they would ignore a regular egg pattern so I tied a y2k and just cut the tail off in a sense.
Bead in the middle and THEN the Eggstasy. If without weight tie bright orange or pink and cover with UV Resin (I use a plant based resin and it seems less "chemically". That way it looks like an spot in the middle of the egg. I also use larger size hooks to get a hook gap.
Need to try that out here on the west coast for Steelhead!!
Thanks Tim!!
Greetings from the land of Guinness - have learnt loads from your videos over the years so thank you Tim and keep ‘em coming
Nice video. Excellent techniques shown as usual.

Eggstasy is my favorite egg material
my go to the last couple years
Neat little fly
Thanks Tim👍
This material is pretty nice Tim, I chose to hide a bead inside the egg like you have done on some other patterns.
My fall/winter go to, especially when nothing else is working 😉

Also I started this with shrimp pink and cerise but I used it with glo bug yarn. It’s better than the eggstacy yard I promise
