I really like this channel, but they went a little overboard on the hyperbole in this episode. I can't tell what's real, or exaggerated, or the actual threat involved. Some clips they are holding them no problem, the next they are warning how badly the want to bite.

I once got bitten by one, but it was an accident. I have never been fishing, or done anything like that (because my mom loves all animals and so do I), and even then, the only lures I'd ever seen were all synthetic/non-living. One day, it had been raining, and I saw a big pink worm; it was moving weird, and even stranger, it had so many tiny legs... I picked it up, and within a few seconds, I was so confused that it had bit me, and seemed to shoot itself out of its mouth! Needless to say, I had never been bitten by a worm before. I often would move worms out of flooded places to a less flooded place, or after a rain storm would move them from a sidewalk back to grass. So after that one incident, I have learned that if a worm has legs, then do NOT pick it up to examine it!

Hey guys, I dug bloodworms for many years in Nova Scotia, and you may think that you have nothing else to learn about bloodworms, but you would be wrong. There is a type of bloodworm where I'm from that we call the cannibal bloodworm!! This is twice as big as the biggest regular bloodworms, but looks just like them, you can not put them in the bucket with the other worms, because they will eat them.
When I was about 6-7, im 12 now) i watched coyote and his insect stings. The bloodworm video (the original) was so fun to watch. Amazing to see how far he’s come
This takes way much more courage than you can ever imagine. I never felt like this for coyote when attempted to get bitten by things. This is way more terrifyng than anything else. Mark doesnt disappoint.

The little creatures used to scare me to the point where I would not go into the mudflats!!! I thought they’d burrow into my flesh!!! But now that I know they only bite when in mortal fear I find them creepy but fascinating. The little guys are too small to do any harm. Only the biggest ones can successfully harm a human. I’ve noticed the little ones are not very aggressive because they are young and inexperienced. The big ones will just try to escape If you bump them. Only biting if they are captured or think they are dying.

I remembered getting bitten by one of those... Stung like bloody hell for a little while, but, was manageable. It was an uncomfortable sensation. I never understood bloodworms, until I looked into them. Years later, thanks to this video. My ideas have been refortified. Pretty tough and slightly ornery little buggers.
