Hi Shellie, you struck solid gold on that new haircut! I love it and the poof is very flattering and cool! It’s like your hair was meant for this cut! Poof on, girlfriend!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love the Bareminerals original foundation. I have dry skin. When I prep and moisturize properly, it just melts into my skin. When I wear a sunscreen that is on the glowy side, I actually use the matte version.
Regarding mosquitos only biting one side of your body…I’ve read that the direction of the wind (and where you’re standing) can impact where they bite since they are attracted to scents.
I LOVE the original bare minerals... and if you prep your skin well enough, it should not be cakey or dry looking and should not leave your skin feeling parched. The rescue complexion that you just tested was the formula that Leslie Blogett said "this is the closest thing to a liquid foundation that you will ever see from bare minerals on my watch" ( she stepped down shortly thereafter). I did not care for it when it was first released, but I understand that over the years it has been tweaked here and there so maybe it is time to give it another go around. Love your hair this way. And that claddagh is gorgeous... smooches to ZIVA and the clan of kitties!💚and... thanks for the clarification regarding a dedicated sunscreen... it always amazes me that people don't realize!
I love your new haircut and the eye makeup matching your hair colour. As for the tinted moisturiser, it looks very good on you, especially in real daylight.
BareMinerals has a setting powder, their Mineral Veil powder which is cornstarch rather than talc based. It gives a lovely soft focus finish like any good setting powder does. I'd love to see what you think of the original foundation. Watch videos and practice a little to get the hang of application since you're not a lifelong powder lover. Even if you don't like the original foundation as makeup, it's great as a night treatment anywhere you have enlarged pores.
Hi Shelly 👋 The Bare Minerals POWDER foundation was my HG for 25 years until I hit menopause with sudden dry skin. People say it works with dry skin, but it sure didn't for me. There is definitely a learning curve with it, but even with my 25 years of daily use I just couldn't make it work. If you already have it then I'd love to see if you can work magic with it! I've never had a foundation since then that looked so beautiful! 😊
Shelly! I saw A Dr Dray video and she said to use a pimple patch (like Mighty Patch) on top of a mosquito bite to stop the itch and pull out the stuff from the bite. She swears by them! Xo ❤
That one's a winner, I think, so pretty on you! Adding this one to my ever-growing list of "want-to-try" products. ;) (I blame you for most of the products on the list!) Considering the cash you've saved me over the past several years, though, I think it all works out to the good. Awesome and fun video, thank you!
Love the glasses. I’ve used this product sporadically since it was introduced, at first not realizing that the amount of product I was using wasn’t providing sufficient sun protection. Then, I started using it kind of like a primer. My problem has always been getting a good shade match. I find that I have to work around the warmish skew that all their products seem to have now. In the old days, when the company’s name was Bare Escentuals, I could find easily find color products in everything but foundation. Foundation matching has always been tricky for me, not just with bareMinerals.
Bare Minerals is my go to for years. Other foundations come and go, but if I'm having skin issues or just not happy with a new foundation BM is always there.
I have been using Bareminerals for years. This is one of my all time favorites. I use this for my base more than any of their other foundations. I just ordered their new serum foundation. If it is anything like the Bareskin foundation from years ago, I will probably love it. I read that their new foundation is supposed to be for all skin types but especially dry and sensitive skin, which will be perfect for me. I love the new hair. It looks fabulous on you.
I hope this type of comment is okay ~ Dr. Dray suggests pimple patches for mosquito bites. I gave some Hero Mighty Patches to a friend and they helped her a lot.
I’m so glad it worked for you! I could not get it to work for me at all. I loved the OG BareMinerals powder foundation. I’m thinking about trying it again.
This is one of my go-to favourites, one I always know will look good on me. The lightest shade is to dark for me during most of the year (I just put it away again 😂) but I bring it out each summer.
Love Bare Minerals. I used complexion rescue for years but switched when you did a review on the Saie tinted moisturizing. I know also use the Saie bronzer and setting powder, as well as the liquid blush. Love them and the fact that although it fades quicker, it’s also skincare!! Love your videos ❤
Yes to this OG tinted moisturiser which I have forgotten and will dig it out from the back of my makeup drawer. Thanks Shelly for this video and ofcourse a yes as well to the Bare Minerals powder foundation. I have also heard good reviews about that but never bought it. Take care you too. P.S: I heard your Irish accent while you were at your garden.❤❤❤❤
Ok, first of all, you're totally rockin' that hair do! The pink with it makes it even better. Love the bouffant! You should try it yourself cause it's fab! Second, the bare minerals looked great! I've been meaning to try that myself. ❤
Thanks Shelly! Love the glasses. This is one product I have constantly had for years. Helps my skin when it is angry. It does get pretty shiny for me as the day goes and pores look bad. I want to try the matte vrs.
Yes Bareminerals has been a great OG over the years, this particular sunscreen I have/ had a few shades to mix and match, as they don’t do my exact shade and i wear it in addition to a base layer of sunscreen underneath..
Yes please to the powder foundation I have dry mature skin and would love to try it myself this could help me to bite the bullet. Love the hair by the way and the eye make up looked great with it. Chefs kiss 💋
Thank you! I've always wanted to try this product but never seem to get around to it. Your review might just change that! Also, your hair is super adorbs, love it!
I just ordered the travel size of this and am hoping it'll be the perfect summer foundation. I tried it many years ago but bought the wrong shade. Looking forward to trying it again! UPDATE... I received it and love it!!! I did end up buying 2 tho, to mix for my perfect shade.
I LOVE your hair!!! I feel like it brings out your personality so much. I feel like I always dabble with Bare Minerals but I never quite find something that works right. I should, however, try their blush/bronzer because they look so good! Glad I finally got to hop on and catch a video 🎉
I agree that the brush-applied side seemed dewier. As to mosquitoes' bites, I think the left side of the heart has the oxygenated blood which then gets pumped out to your body, so maybe the bugs instinctively know that side'll taste better? (Presumably?)
Hiiii Shellie, l be definitely trying this one! And I looove your new do! Side note - I was immediately drawn to your Claddagh ring! ❤ my DH gifted one to me for my birthday when we were in Killarney. It’s my permanent right hand ring forever and ever! It’s yellow gold with two cris crossed bands of diamonds. I absolutely love the symbolism behind the Claddagh. I want to get a tree off life or Celtic knot pendant next summer.
Thanks, Amy!! I buy more rings every time I go to Ireland... I probably have a dozen Claddagh rings now and so many Celtic knots! I love them. My first was a gift from my mom when she went there with her girlfriends when I was a kid. I was hooked!
So far I've only worn it with 2 and it worked fine with both, the European version of the No7 Future Renew day cream SPF40 and the Purito Daily Go-To SPF50. I apply my sunscreen as the last step of my skin care, and then wait at least 20 minutes before I start doing my makeup.
For whatever reason you aren't showing up on my home page. I am turning on notifications. I have been missing seeing you. ❤ Wondering if you tried to new liquid putty primer from ELF yet. If so, did you review it? I'm on the fence, but looking for an affordable primer for my 46 year old aging skin. Thank you for all you do.❤
RUclips unsubscribed me from a channel I've literally been watching for a decade, so I don't know what is going on! My notifications on here never work properly. I haven't been able to get my hands on the Elf yet but I absolutely will!
I just love your quirky content! I was thinking…you know how other creators mention their OOTD, outfit of the day. Well you should do SOTD, sandwich of the day at your final evening check in!
Thanks, Dawn! I haven't tried with a "standard" primer, just my homemade bakuchiol cream that I've been using as primer lately. It was fine with that. Haven't tried it with, say, a silicone primer yet.
I remember she did a tiktok a couple months back when she went to her stylist and I need to go back and find it and see if she talks about any products she uses in it!
Thanks Shelly! Another great review!! I might try that one ! I’ve tried the OG powder one but it’s too dry for my skin… I would love to see if you find a way to wear it and make it work on dry mature skin because it has a nice coverage and it’s pleasant to wear… Oh and I love the hair!! It suits you so well!!! ❤ Can’t wait to try your cream when it’s back in stock!!
The price has really gone up on this item; pre-Pandemonium I bought a full size for 31 or 32. I think at $37 it's too expensive, especially with all the new competitors in the tinted hydrator space! Heck, the Wet n Wild tinted hydrator looks almost as good, and I always wear a dedicated sunscreen anyway. But it is gorgeous, isn't it. Birch is a perfect match for me. One note I will add is that if you get a full size, go ahead and use it up--I found mine got a funky smell after 8 or 10 months open; fortunately it was almost gone by then. A word of warning on that Bare Minerals powder product--you might find it too drying to be workable. I used to use it when my skin was combo/oily but now that I'm way drier, it's a no-go.
Have you ever tried MAC'S serum foundation? It's a thin serum. My most recent acquisition back in February. Annoying dropper dispenser, but the coverage seems amazing for what it is
Thanks, Kasey! Zenni - and they have a few colors now (which I did not know and I think I need to get some different colors too!!!) go.magik.ly/ml/127nd/ here's the frame.
Non-proffessional idea about the mosquito bites on one side; the mosquitos can detect where they have been "successfully" before. So they go back to the same general area again 🥴 The Bare Minerals product looks lovely on you 🌞 How do think it compares to the IT Cosmetics cc+ 'nude glow' tinted cream? x
I would say they very closely compare in texture, blurring/smoothing, and wear, with the main difference being that the IT has a little bit more coverage. But they rank about the same and otherwise very similar - so if you were deciding between the two, I'd decide based on whether you want a little more coverage or a little less.
@@goow Thank you for that comparison Shelly 🥰 I do like the sound of the extra coverage of the IT Cosmetics. I'll go for that one ^^^ first and put the Bare Minerals one on my 'Try Later' list. x
Hi Shelly Off topic from the original video, but I noticed MAC have just released a new foundation. I'd love to see your review of their Studio Radiance serum-powered™ foundation. x
Very cool glasses. I'd like you to review the powder foundation as a foundation as opposed to a powder that you'd put on top. I've heard great things about the DEW POWER VEGAN CUSHION SPF 50+ PA++++ . I may get it, just not sure of the color I'd take.
@@goow I also like the ones with the blue frames, they'd look good with your skin tone. I ended up ordering the Amuse Dew Cushion makeup in what I HOPE is my shade, it sells everywhere for $30 and Stylevana had the color I want for $18, so Of Course I just Had to get it....and Of course I wanted free shipping so I added the Numbuzin no.3 Softening Serum I've heard so much about and the Healing Bird Ultra Protein Hair Oil I've also heard is great...still not $48, so I threw in a Rovectin sheet mask. Did I need this stuff?....umm, not really, but it's food for the soul.
😂2,982, lol! Same! Ugh…and no matter what we’re doing, there’s a n evil 🐈& 🐈⬛ getting into something! I love the hair change - and the foundation is really pretty . I wonder how it would work for me with 99% humidity ?
I haven't worn it in uber-humidity yet but based on how it feels my guess is it would be hit or miss with super high humidity. I think it might be a little too emollient in and of itself to hold up to more moisture. But I have not tested that theory. I hope I don't get a chance as I am desperate for some cooler weather! lol
Thanks!! Yep I have a super quick first-dip video going up Wednesday but I'll do a proper full video soon :) I was so excited to try it and you all are the only ones I know that care about eyeshadow so I had to film it! lol
I also have more bites on the left side of my body, I can only suggest that if you get bitten while you are in bed, your left side is more exposed if you sleep on your right side.
Thank you! I give a majority of the credit to daily sunscreen! I just wish I had started wearing it sooner to avoid some of the sun damage I've got. I started wearing facial sunscreen daily when I was 36.
I really didn’t like this product, I know that there’s quite a few people liking it but there’s just so many products that are far better than this. You need the right skincare for this product to work and honestly products shouldn’t be that awkward!
Hi Shellie, you struck solid gold on that new haircut! I love it and the poof is very flattering and cool! It’s like your hair was meant for this cut!
Poof on, girlfriend!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks, Carrie!!
Same, it’s classy but also shows her own personality.
Hi! If you decide to test the Bare Minerals powder foundation - it needs vigorous buffing into the skin so it get warm and melts.
I LOVE the original bare minerals... and if you prep your skin well enough, it should not be cakey or dry looking and should not leave your skin feeling parched.

Hi Shelly . Love your hair ! I love this and the colour vanilla is perfect for me. You don’t look anywhere near 48 . Love from England xx
Thanks, Lorraine!!
I would love to see you try the Bare Minerals powder as a foundation!
This is one of my most repurchased makeup items! Love it and will always have it in my foundation rotation.

Hi Shelly! Can you do a review on the Rare Beauty skin tint? I love yours videos since we are shade twins! Thanks!!!
Shelly! I love your hair:)🍃🌸

They have it in a matt finish now. It looks nice on you.
You look amazing! Thank you for being so helpful! I'm thinking of checking out Complexion Rescue in Vanilla.

I think it might be a little too emollient in and of itself to hold up to more moisture. But I have not tested that theory. I hope I don't get a chance as I am desperate for some cooler weather! lol
Looks really nice.
Loving the hair.
Love this product but it pills on everything for me unfortunately.
Are you going to review the new Natasha Denona nude palette?
Thanks!! Yep I have a super quick first-dip video going up Wednesday but I'll do a proper full video soon :) I was so excited to try it and you all are the only ones I know that care about eyeshadow so I had to film it! lol
PS. Shellie, so loved your haircut I forgot to say that the complexion rescue looks fab!,, (I’m 66 and can be as docked as I want!}.
The glasses are a blast! 😂
Thanks, Dawn!! They're from Zenni! go.magik.ly/ml/127nd/
😂 They're just saving the right side for later!
I love the foundation, will keep it in mind Love the new do
Thanks!! lol the other day I was like, hmmm no, I can't go outside tonight... gotta wait until my current slate of bug bites is gone.
@@goow Aww! They weren't that noticeable lol It always looks worse when it's us.
Your hair is 🔥🤘🏻😎
Thanks, Leah!
I also have more bites on the left side of my body, I can only suggest that if you get bitten while you are in bed, your left side is more exposed if you sleep on your right side.
How in the world are you 48/49? You look great!
Thank you! I give a majority of the credit to daily sunscreen! I just wish I had started wearing it sooner to avoid some of the sun damage I've got. I started wearing facial sunscreen daily when I was 36.
❤❤❤
Did she do it 😂
THANK GOODNESS no!!! lol
Definitely an "everyday makeup" wear...... Now all I have to do is find 40$ every month for it😂
The only way this product works for me is not applying any specific primer, only a light moisturizer. Adding a primer changes everything for the worst
I really didn’t like this product, I know that there’s quite a few people liking it but there’s just so many products that are far better than this. You need the right skincare for this product to work and honestly products shouldn’t be that awkward!
