I'm guessing a loom and sewing machine will be on the list. Lots of people can sew and repair clothes, but who can actually make them? Pants and suits are hard to make, American clothes in general are difficult articles. That's why most nomads or even the ancient Greeks wore robes. Or if somebody is a cobbler, that's extremely rare and valuable. Because these plastic shoes will not last more than a year!
I went up to Bakercreek this weekend, and it didnt seem like they were doing the festival this year, I really hope I am wrong, it is a lot of fun and have missed it since the vid.Canning supplies would become very valuable I would think. Sugar/sweeteners, spices, wheat berries/flower too.

I am in Missouri and have saved seeds. Kept them in plastic container. One year rats got in my seeds and destroyed them. Another year moisture and water destroyed my seed collection. Last year a fire destroyed all my seeds. I cannot win for losing all my seeds for too many years in a row. :-(
SEED SEED SEED ! But it's almost impossible to garden without basic tools. Get several shovels, hoes, rakes, spade, forks, knives, wire, twine, rope, etc. etc.
I would love to learn whether there is a way to "resurface" or "repair" a glass jar that has a small chip out of the top of it that won't seal with a standard canning lid anymore. I have quite a few of them. Yeah, I know I can use them for other things. But I've wondered about repairing them.
Zac- I don’t like eggplant either and I don’t believe we are meant to eat it! Did you know that it started off as an ornamental plant and hasn’t been consumed as food until modern times? When I initially read this years ago I had an “aha!” moment and realized why I don’t care for it at all. I really don’t believe it was ever meant to be a food! From the Weston Price Foundation site: “Eggplant was also first grown as an ornamental, a decorative plant. It was not eaten until relatively recent years in North America. According to Dr. Norman Childers, author of The Arthritis Diet, peoples of the Mediterranean area previously believed that the eggplant would cause insanity if it was eaten daily for a month, in fact, it had the nickname of “mad apple.”3 How many foods that you eat have a reputation like that?”
You’re as bad as I am with the Seed crazy ! I believe in that though .,I think it’s important that we do teach ..because not everybody’s going to think of that and that’s why you have to share with people because if you don’t teach them how to do something they’re gonna want what you got ..and they’re not gonna want to borrow or buy it from you you’re just gonna want to take it.. so what you do is you teach the next generation and the generation after how to deal with these circumstances to mitigate these problems before they get see the problem of not having food and teach them how to survive on basically nothing most of them are living in travel trailer throughout the mountains 😂 But you still got to help them some what you know If you teach him how to survive they’ll be good at it I’ve met lots of young couples I’ve helped them with that…
You're making me feel bad for trashing a feedsack full of olive and avocado oil bottles from the last several years. I simple can't keep everything. I felt like a cluttered hoarder and didn't have room for the things I use daily.
A few years ago on keto diet, my wife made eggplant spaghetti. It was really good. Any other way, eggplant is really nasty. But I feel the way amount cauliflower. Stuff smells like dirty socks no matter raw or cooked to me

Haven’t you ever heard not to put new wine in old wine bottles!? 😂
I'll try and find out.
Stuff to barter tobacco, lye, anything you can use to make fuel wetherby diesel or alcohol, batteries, socks how many people actually know how to sew their own socks and over an extended period of time socks will become valuable. Same thing for shoes, glue and adhesive products, threads yarn and needles, sugar, baby formula oh, pretty much any dry goods, candy
Collapse or not we save our glass jars and Lids glass jars and glass bottles because they can store anything from leftovers To Nuts and Bolts
Is Baker Creek Spring Festival back on?! I was just looking last week. I can't find any info...
No, its not on this year. They spend too much time in CA and it has made them liberal and fearful.
Their site states this: "ALL EVENTS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO A SPIKE ON COVID-19 IN OUR AREA. "
@@notbuyingit5698 I know. It's said the same thing for the last 2 years... with their clientele they have I'm suprised they've been closed... so your CA comment makes perfect sense now
My seed stash is massive... I have a 6 gal tote FULL of seeds, half saved, half bought.
I just thought I was weird for saving bottles.
Spices, herbs, salt ( unless you're near an ocean or Salt lake😁)
I am in Missouri and have saved seeds. Kept them in plastic container. One year rats got in my seeds and destroyed them. Another year moisture and water destroyed my seed collection. Last year a fire destroyed all my seeds. I cannot win for losing all my seeds for too many years in a row. :-(
@@channahrose That's tough. Don't give up. You can save and build a stash in a single year.
@@channahrose Have you tried stashing them in the refrigerator or freezer?
You know if you put those wine bottles on craigslist people buy those my wife has sold them..
SEED SEED SEED ! But it's almost impossible to garden without basic tools. Get several shovels, hoes, rakes, spade, forks, knives, wire, twine, rope, etc. etc.
Was that soapnuts in the baggie?
Right on!
What about meat? Cattle or pigs or chicken? Where does that fall on the list?
i knew my glass bottle hoarding wasent a problem
Very good info
Are you still uploading to RUMBLE?
I looked this morning too!
I have a crazy number of glass coffee jars. I just broke a half gallon glass jar this morning and that hurt.
When I go to the liquor store I make sure it's glass.
Plant the eggplant for your chickens
You’re as bad as I am with the Seed crazy ! I believe in that though .,I think it’s important that we do teach ..because not everybody’s going to think of that and that’s why you have to share with people because if you don’t teach them how to do something they’re gonna want what you got ..and they’re not gonna want to borrow or buy it from you you’re just gonna want to take it.. so what you do is you teach the next generation and the generation after how to deal with these circumstances to mitigate these problems before they get see the problem of not having food and teach them how to survive on basically nothing most of them are living in travel trailer throughout the mountains 😂 But you still got to help them some what you know If you teach him how to survive they’ll be good at it I’ve met lots of young couples I’ve helped them with that…
My wife is a bee keeper she even saves plastic like mayonnaise jars even smaller ones, plastic not great but for bartering honey, they'll live, lol
Zack try eggplant sliced thin and battered in zatarains fish fry. fried the only way to eat that mess.
Oh yum! I love eggplant
Long necked glass bottles are also good for Molotov cocktails, so say the Ukrainians
Stuff smells like dirty socks no matter raw or cooked to me
I’ve made eggplant stuffing it was really good!
