It’s very telling that, on the clip show episode where every character talks about their favorite song, Robbie doesn’t mention “Master of Disguise” or even “Lazy Scouts.” He chooses “You Are a Pirate,” the one time (in the first season) where all the kids in LazyTown were just having good fun with him, cunning evil plans aside.

@@felixleidig8307 Sadly, his annoyance of kids making noises and foiling his lazy plans outweighs it by a mile along with dislike for friendship.
Ironically he is the most active of the cast.

When he’s more active than the character who litterally starts every morning by jumping out of bed and doing a sports activity whilst eating only a piece of fruit for breakfast you know he’s active

@@cymontanes389 Well, given he took inspiration from Jim Carrey's Grinch to be this lively, it really worked. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I was his understudy from 2010-2014 and played Grandpa Who.
Robbie once had a soliloquy where he reminisced in the days where people listened to him and he felt important. He was king of doing nothing. Now, he’s just all alone, forgotten and completely not listened to.

I have never watched Lazytown as a kid, and now like 20-something years later I really want to check it out, 100% because of Robbie.

Very interesting and saddest Character Quest video and I'll still miss Stefan Karl to this day he played a very great, goofy, and amazing villain may he rest peacefully.
Man robbie rotten was always my favorite character as a kid, I would get so hype for lazy town just to see him!

If Robbie Rotten got himself a villain's origin movie, his character would've been played by Jim Carrey. Because, yeah, he fits the role pretty well considering how well he did the Grinch. It would be all the same.
Nick cancelled Lazy Town twice?! I thought they only did it once. Also nice video. It's cool when you see characters from shows for younger kids get treated like actual characters instead of people just ignoring them because they're from Nick Jr or whatever
Yeah, he got that part wrong. Only the show's early run was on Nick Jr. The franchise was bought by Turner Europe in 2011, which is why the series was briefly revived for two more seasons.

Out of any villain there is, Robbie definitely is number one
I was trying to see if Robbie was on any of the top villain lists but I don't see his name. Well in that case if I were to make one, it would be called "The most enjoyable villain list",
and Robbie Rotten would be number 1 of course.
I can't even think of a close second, when it comes to how much fun he brings as a villain he is just ahead of everyone else exponentially.

And in Who's Who, Robbie tries to get rid of Stephanie by making a clone that says mean things. I found that very good because Robbie has to make plans to get rid of Stephanie as well sometimes since she's the one who brings Sportacus to LazyTown in the first place.

Robbie once made an apple that had so much sugar, it made Sportacus burn through his energy in an instant.
Well, he likes being bad, a villain and tries to be a bad guy mostly. Also, there's no tragic stories for LazyTown characters. Robbie is fine with no development since we like him as a villain though a tiny increase in villainy would do for him. Stefan Karl should have based Robbie's true thoughts on the kids off his annoyance of them being noisy, foiling his plans and disinterest in friendship in interviews instead of what he said. That would be better since they're his enemies for foiling his plans and that he likes being a villain and ruining their fun.

8:52: I would love to point out that the 2D character designs for the cast, especially when animated, looked a lot better than how they looked as live characters (especially when paired with Stephanie, Sportacus, and Robbie Rotten). It reminds me of Little Nemo, Alice in Wonderland, and even Scooby-Doo, where the basic characters are rotoscoped, with slight changes, but they compliment the exaggerated characters; giving this sort of cohesive artstyle.

I was fortunate enough to be Stefan's understudy for the first 5 national tours of Grinch. He was an amazing performer and human being. I miss my buddy and mentor.
I have a friend named Ken Pontac aka the guy who wrote "YOU ARE A PIRATE!" oh the stories he told me about Robbie Rotten!😁 He once got stuck to a whales tongue as a child because his dad was a whaler and he would go out with him on the ships. Also fyi Sportacus is an Ahole IRL

Robbie's one of those 'not really evil at all' villains who is actually quite a softie like Gru or to some extent Megamind.

Definitely hit the nail on the head with this video. I enjoyed Lazy Town when I was younger, mainly for Robbie Rotten. Sure the hero moments were cool, the songs were memerable, well a select few songs and the show all around was entertaining at the time for me, but Robbie is what I remember the most out of the whole show even more so than Sportacus which is really saying something because normally you root for the hero, but in this shows case I was rooting for the villain, not just for the entertainment value but for Robbie to eventually find it within himself to not be alone so much, as that is why he was so evil to begin with like you explained.
Poor Robbie rotten his life was taken from him in one day he went from the town idol to the ignored guy
I used to get stoned and watch this and wow wow wubzy with my nephew. Robbie felt like the only sane person in an insane world
Theres so much to his lore that isn't covered. Its not really related to the show, and you kind of have to dig deeper. For example, "Glanni Glæpur í Latabæ," the Icelandic play where Stefán plays Glanni, the predecessor of Robbie. Note that they are definitely not the same, as said by Stefán himself that they are different characters, but hes the start of the journey. There is also "Jól í Latibær," an Icelandic Christmas album, which has "Aleinn um Jólin" in it, another piece of the Robbie puzzle. Along with that song, theres also "Good to be Bad," the cut song from Suprise Santa that has an extended version in "Lazytown - The New Album" which I think of as the Lazytown version of Aleinn um Jólin.
Theres actually a lot of refrences to the play(s, theres the very first one called Áfram Latibær, but it is missing Glanni.) refrenced in the show, but not noticeable unless you have seen them.
I just wanted to point out/add to the lore people can dig through since theres actually a lot more to the history of Lazytown that people miss. You can add these pieces to your own conclusion of Robbie as a character.

Also, did anyone else care to notice that the stereotypical hero/villain faces are swapped with Robbie and Sporticus? Robbie has a prominent chin, is clean shaven and even has a pompadour, while Sporticus has a Dick Dastardly-esque mustache.
He may be a villain, but he's not flat. He even didn't cause too much torture not just for censorship but also for dimension. Hack, he even did nothing all day. Despite i stopped watching after losing cable
He was the center of attention before Sportacus came into the picture and in general, he just likes being lazy exactly like how the town used to be and again Sportacus took all of that away from him? So that’s why he was always doing all these bad weird and in some cases funny things, I don’t know where and how you figured this out but had you not explained all this I always used to assume Robbie was just the bad guy who had nothing else better to do with his life than to do all the bad things he did in the show

I am sorry but I just couldn't take the video serious. I know die hard fans that wouldn't say it had the best FX for the time, even with the footage you showed it was very cheesy back then. Other then that, it's a good video.
