JJ was such a swingin' cat who understood how to craft those licks while not overplaying or trying to impress with too much technique . A cool bop master and a genius trombone player. You were a king who played a KIng. RIP 😎

I've heard Cedar Walton and Stanley Cowell with this band, so definitely not impressed with this replacement on piano. She's adequate, no more than that.
Renee Rosnes is an experienced, respected modern jazz proficient pianist, so your comment is somewhat rather unfair...... Is it because she is female?
Gender plays no part in my musical judgement. My comment is based solely on musical values, my experience and the level of enjoyment and excitement I get from the music. The lady in question doesn't come up to my expectations based on previous occupants of piano chair with J.J. like Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, Victor Feldman and Cedar Walton.
Your loss if you are unable to appreciate talent that is not, in your opinion, ia big name.
