I’m excited for my kids to see their first wild sea turtle
Thats how Eddie was when he saw one in the wild fornthe first time. Turtle beach is the spot and just watch the other toourists, they usually flock to the turtles when they're there.
hey guys i watched your gili island vids and got some useful info from them..i plan on visiting indonesia as well when i retire in 2024..you guys look to be about my age...im 47 currently..im thinking air is prolly gonna be the best island for me but im still gonna visit all 3..i have a question for you...did you see anyone surfing there on the islands and also if you guys seen anyone renting boards...please lemme know and also the prices of the board rentals...thanks peace from chicago )))
Great questions. We don't know how much they cost due to the difference in prices on all three islands, but they're reasonable. We did see surfboards as well as paddle boards. It's easy to hop around all three islands so don't be scared to set up an home base, especially if you can get one for a great price. We have a link with expedia if you're interested. Make sure you take some time to snorkel or SCUBA as well. It's worth it. Have fun!!!
Accurate pronunciation tip for visitors and Bules… Gili Air is pronounced so it sounds like Gili Eye-Ear. Ironically the word ‘air’ here means ‘water’ and since this island had its own water supply (although a bit brackish now due to salt water incursion) it was named ‘the water island’ or ‘Gili Air’ - local trivia.

Hi, thank you for the valuable information! We would like to stay on Gili meno, but also want to go to the other islands. We have saw that the boats between the islands go till 5:30 pm. is this true? is there a possibility to go at a later time? many thanks!
Good question. Not that we've seen, however, we were only here for a short time. We plan to return again one day to learn more. If you do find out, we'd love to hear about it also. Have fun!!!
