also in my opinion the beginning of the end of his career (just my opinion as a junior fan) when he wrecked and finished 43rd there in Texas. i felt something off the rest of the year despite sweeping pocono, and a few other wins there and 2015 wins.

My dad back in 97-98 wanted to start a guys family weekend, with me, my brother, and my brother n law. Since we lived in Houston, Texas, our first weekend trip was to the NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway, one of the Burton brothers won. We had so much fun. We slowly ended up averaging 10 trips, and 20+ races year...... I had the most fun in my teen years because of it. My brother n law was a huge Mark Martin fan, and following my dad, he was a big Dale Sr fan, I became a fan of both Dale Sr, and Dale Jr, specially since I was at his first cup win.
I know he’s married, with a baby girl, and has had some concussions problems, but damn I wish he’d come back!!
Either drive for his good buddy Tony Stewart, or the team i would have preferred him to go to after leaving DEI, in RCR!
Heck I’d probably would double the races I go to, even if he choose a car from his on stable at JR MOTORSPORTS, and just run xfinity series! I know it’s highly unlikely, but I can dream lol i know he misses it! I can say i was lucky enough to be at all 3 Daytona 500’s, that Sr won in 98, and Jr in 2004, and again in 2014. I really thought he was going to win his last Daytona 500, until he got wrecked out, in 2017. Uhh that one still hurts.

Dale Jr. really had a impressive nascar career. Dale Jr. would have won a cup by now if his dad was still alive. That doesn't matter, 2017 just gotta be the season (he has a year's rest for crying out loud).

No matter what the sponsor title is for the series it's the same series no matter what you name it. So for the people complaining that the earlier wins were Busch not Xfinity. Yes during that time it was sponsored by Busch. Now it's Xfinity so that's what you call it. Same with the cup series. No matter what you name it, it's the same series whether you have Winston, Nextel, Sprint, or monster...it's the same thing

Junior was a better driver then Busch. Busch was tough to sponsor at that time. Junior was the only driver able to keep up with Johnson before the move. Junior just made the crew chiefs job super hard during that time so the wins dont reflect. The laps led before and right after the move show it was the right call. Just needed a crew chief like Steve sooner to get that cup. Still a good career nothing to be ashamed of. Kahne didnt win many races at Hendrick either. When Junior and Truex raced on the same team Truex wasn't even close now hes dominating Busch.

The man had 7-6 wins in the first two busch series seasons, i don't remember how many others have done that but still, since he joined Cup full time he either hasn't raced that much in lower series after or he just focused on riding around in those races.
