Like the shop and the hoodie. The French cleats are a great idea. Hoping to get some shop organization done this year myself.

Much appreciated! I support my team through thick and thin. I love having the French cleats, made a huge impact to readily available tools and jigs. Good luck on your organization. It's a labor of love for sure.

Dang, you have a great shop! It’s a shame that shop tours like yours and mine don’t get the views

Thanks John! Just trying to work my way up to a shop like yours. :) I believe the views will come... one day.

Is the black ceiling more for the video side of things, or is there a non-RUclips benefit to black walls and ceilings?

Yes, I think there are a couple of things. Most garage ceiling are not finished. Mine was finished in the 70's with popcorn ceiling. I removed all that but didn't want to float the entire ceiling after. The black paint does a great job of hiding imperfections. Additionally, a black ceiling with bright LED's makes it feel like a showroom. People notice right away when they come visit.

Do you have a video explaining your story and the origins of your shop?

No I haven't created a video on that topic yet. Long story short: I have been making/fixing things since my teens. I have always had a passion for DIY and love using my hands and oh course TOOLS! As with most of us, I have accumulated lot's of tools and material over the years. I had an Etsy store for several years where I made exotic cutting boards. That is where High 5ive started. We have a family of Five and who doesn't enjoy a solid High Five. Fast forward several years; I have been upgrading tools, the shop and skills in order to build bigger and better projects. I wouldn't say I am an expert by any means. Just another guy/dad who enjoys building. The process is very satisfying and I hope I am teaching my kids great lessons as the grow and develop. Thanks for the question!!!
