    Great video Josh, I see you are using the Nikon d810, I read that this camera wasn't compatible with the Ronin S. I own both but have only used the ronin s to stabilise video. I'll sure now be purchasing a cable for timelapse and motionlapse. Thank you!

    @Josh Chappell Which cable did you use exactly to connect to your Nikon D810? Also I was reading a lot of forums about how the Ronin-s features weren't compatible with the 810 yet, but it looks like it worked for you! Guess they updated the firmware.

    I have looked everywhere to know what the 'appropriate cable' is from GH5s to Ronin S 'it is going to be USB C' - no help whatever - of course one end is the other is RSS I think but since you hide it in the video I can't even get started here

    • @JoshChappell
      @JoshChappell  3 года назад +1

      I film on the GH5 and Ronin S. The correct cable to connect the two is USB C. You connect it where you slide the camera plate on. There is a rubber covering over it that you pull off.

    • @IndoonaOceans
      @IndoonaOceans 3 года назад

      @@JoshChappell So it is a double ended USB C cable? I think it is the USB C to MCC cable you mean? Calling a cable a USB C usually means it is a double ended USB C or a large USB to USB C like many Android phones now use for charging.

    • @JoshChappell
      @JoshChappell  3 года назад +1

      I'm not sure what the other end is called. It plugs into the Ronin S at the top of the gimbal.

    • @IndoonaOceans
      @IndoonaOceans 3 года назад

      @@JoshChappell It is called a MCC - Multi Camera Control Cable and the type you refer to is an MCC-C (there is also an MCC-B and others) - so that's why it does not help to call it a type C cable alone because people might think it is a double ended type C cable. The 'multi' bit I think refers to the idea that it controls multiple functions in the camera rather than that it is suitable for multiple cameras. It explains why you need it to access the multiple functions required of the camera during time lapse and focus.

      @@adrianzaharia8885 I wonder if you can help me solve this odd behaviour in my SC??? I create a pan for a motion lapse, but about 1/2 way through, the camera goes off level slightly. The gimbal cannot keep the camera level. When the pan is finished, the gimbal rights itself to level.

    • @adrianzaharia8885
      @adrianzaharia8885 4 года назад

      Bad Robot Hi. You can’t resolve it. I talked to Dji and they say that it’s a gimbal and the other functions are options included and they have a tolerance to those sort of things and it’s normal. It seems that they use cheap motors. I recomand other brands like Zhiyun...weebil Lab or the new S. They work perfectly. I sold my Ronin S to a friends who is doing just video and as a gimbal is a bit better than others but the other functions suck big time! Or we have to buy the Gennie mini from Syrp for motion lapse. 2 pcs and a L bracket for 500€. Expensive but they do motionlapse gadgets only.

    how do you make content out of focus.....I dont understand how people do this. You also use about 5 different pieces of terminology entirely incorrectly.......people that don't know don't realize....be more careful. Too many people look up to youtubers without even realizing they aren't actually qualified to teach anything.
