Agreed. Thought Tommy G was going to give Semenuk something to worry about with their scores. The fellas and I lost interest after that. Riddle first, then that. No way.

At 0:48 the commentary says "backflip, tailwhip"! I personally thought I was watching a flair whip there? Am I right or...? What a run though, total joy to watch
It is line choice (the more exposed or jank the line is, especially up top). The tricks (not just what the trick is but how clean the landing was, the extension and how hard) Fluidity and control (how fast, flowy and aggressive they come down the mountain, again, especially at the top). Air time (how long they literally spend in the air and what they do with that time).
Welcome to Ramslope! Didn’t feel like Rampage but shout out to all riders! Thanks for the show. Amazing skills displayed. You make it look easy and we know the technical skills needed to be in this race. Sending healing energy to those injured. And awesome sportsmanship. We feel the brotherhood.
Absolutely incredible run. His skills are legendary and I always love watching Semenuk. However, Rampage is a big mountain free ride event and I don’t think the line that he built really fits into that category. I don’t think he touched a inch of ground that was not groomed. If that’s what the judges want to see now then fine, but I miss the gnarly unimproved insane lines of years past.
Those lines are done and dusted. The sport is progressing. People riding sketchy take offs and landings and doing simple tricks like 3s and flips are outdated now. The sport is progressing so that now people can ride interesting features and do unprecedented tricks off much larger features than they could in earlier rampages. Rampage was shut down for years because it was just too dangerous. Now it is getting the attention it deserves. Big mountain freeride is probably what i consider the core of mountain biking but there is no real effective way to turn pure big mountain into a competition on one mountain, and if there was it would be very repetitive. Thats why i believe it fits better in films. Rampage is unique in that it allows for all types of riding and whichever run is the most challenging and impressive should take the win, no matter what discipline influences them most. There is no category that rampage runs must fall into to be respected, there is only the progression of the sport as a whole.
