It’s like going to a football (soccer) match and then allowing the players to pick the ball up and run with it!! And then to say Brendog just makes it look too easy, what an insult!! It’s time you listened to your audience and examined the evidence. IMO The crowd has lost respect for this event!

      He gets punished for being the most creative every year in what’s supposed to be the biggest “free ride” comp in mountain biking. Him and Gee Atherton were the only 2 guys left carving in tech and big mountain lines and not opting for the slope style features. Even Kyle straight rode on a single crown this year and flew in tricks. I remember the last time Kyle won it he bombed down the hill fastest with crazy tech, huge gaps and speed. Sad to see the stage of this comp with the media coverage it gets these days. Been watching since 2008 and never had the judging been as bad as the last 2 years

      But don't you see? "He makes it look too easy". Oh but also he didn't flip his canyon gap last year so he didn't go big enough. Oh and also if he gets too loose then he's not in control enough. It's simple, here's what he has to do to podium: brake more poorly and make it look harder while also flipping any canyon on his run and also never look out of control.

    • @petrvodicka6053
      @petrvodicka6053 Месяц назад

      Exactly! The problem of his line was the fact that there has not been the possibility to make some "sexy tricks" - the difficulty was so high! And always: Where is the human jury there is always problem. Maybe in the future there will be AI which will judge according to the firmly given parameters - the difficulty of the line, tricks,...IMHO his rating could be at least 10 point more!

    Firstly, this is taking nothing away from the riders…they do what they do and its nuts!
    But looking at Brendog vs Semenuk its pretty bloody obvious that the judges are only interested in tricks…the actual lines, exposure, creativity seem to not carry any weight in scoring…
    I mean the Red-bull description of this video says “The world’s toughest big mountain freeride mountain bike competition” ...but that's not reflected in the scoring.
    Compare the two…
    Brendog - Nose manual off start ramp>unique janky start section>disgusting technical and exposed cliff chute>step-up, another step-up onto rock feature...full exposure drop off>No hander trick jump>Backflip over canyon gap!!>Finished and rode the Jordie-drop>Another huge backflip!
    Semenuk>Manual off start ramp>Same start line as others>Truck-driver jump>Backflip-one-footer over step down>One footer over hip>Flat spin>Few straight jumps>Indian air>Opposite tail whip onto lilly pad>Huge flip-whip!
    Both crazy good, but one was the definition of big mountain freeride the other was essentially slopestyle.

    Brendog and Godziek were robbed. Semenuk's run did not have anything as big as Godziek's or Brendog's. Rampage means "GO BIG" and slopestyle run packed with tricks is winning. This is against the spirit or Red Bull Rampage. Godziek went full on, huge jumps and huge double backflip. I did not see anything comparable in Semenuk's run to this 2x backflip. It’s a real shame that Rampage has become another slopestyle event. There are plenty of slopestyle events around the world and these lines built should showcase a riders ability on a bike downhill, on the most technical terrain. The fans enjoy watching controlled riding just as much as slopestyle and would appreciate the two not being one and the same for this event. Brendog is a classic example of an excellent build married with excellent technical performance on a bike. I do wonder why it is a build event to then only be judged as a trick event. Personally, I’ve lost interest and hope someone listens to the fans and we can see some technical event that truly appreciates the team’s efforts in both build and ride.
